Sermon on the Mount study packs!

Happy Friday, friends!

There’s something sweet about these in-between days, isn’t there? We’ve just come from a convicting and inspiring study of the book of Titus, and we’re gearing up to begin a beautiful study of the book of Ruth on Monday. We hope these next few days of quiet afford you the opportunity to reflect on what you’ve read and learned, to pray, and to spend some secret, sacred time alone in God’s word.

coming soon — Sermon on the Mount!

Our study of Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount from Matthew chapters 5-7 will begin on Tuesday, July 1st. We have been so excitedly anxious to share with you the topic of this upcoming reading plan—and the gorrrrgeous study pack that accompanies it!

Our team is wrapping up their writing now, and let me tell you—this is going to be a broad and challenging study. Our prayer is simply that it points straight to Jesus. He is the only One who fulfills the law of our just and holy God fully and perfectly, then turns around and gifts that righteousness to us! Is that crazy-amazing, or what? Let’s dig our heels into these 3 chapters of Matthew and listen to the red-lettered words that come straight from the mouth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I've been feeling led for a long time to lead an all women bible study and jumped off the fence to send out an invite to a small group of churched and unchurched women. I've been thinking of what to use to start, and decided on your site as a launch pad. I was considering your Daniel series as that touched me so deeply, but then I see the study pack for Ruth, is there a way to message me, so as to not give away anything on the site, a little of the direction the study will go to assess if this might be something I should invest in to give a pack to each of my invites ( remember churched and unchurched)

I'm about two steps behind this week, but I wanted to let you know that I think these packs are so pretty. I'm so very thankful you have them to help you fund what we pretty much all agreed was important to fund in continuing this site. The best things in life aren't "free"! :) I also want to thank you that, even though it is not feasible for me to use the packs for several reasons, I don't feel any less a part of this community. I really do see a purpose in what you offer, and I appreciate what you all are doing. Thank you for providing a community that I feel more a part of than any online study I've ever done. Have a blessed Sunday to all our SRT ladies!

I don't even know how I stumbled across this beautiful site and sisterhood! But I've been so blessed and have shared it with many friends. Keep the wonderful work! God is using you in big ways.

    1. Kelsey says:

Keep UP!!! Keep up the wonderful work! Massively tired mama over here.

I believe God has led me to SRT and He has shown me over and over that this is of Him and He wants me to dig into this site with everything I have. I am amazed at the depth of these ladies’ faith, they are quoting Spurgeon, that right there tells me a lot about “who” they are in The Lord. I’m more than thankful for this site. I’m a Resident Physician and super busy so I’d like to share with you all what helped me in Titus. I read the entire book, researched it on line, the history of why Paul wrote to Titus and had a good idea of the book and was able to get more out of the daily devotional. I hope that blesses whoever it was supposed to!
Have a blessed day SRT ladies!

I love all of you, sisters. I praise the Lord for this community… for the amazingly cute t-shirts, the authentic and diverse community, and most importantly, the sound teaching of the Lord's word. The insight and devos of this past Titus study have really helped me to be a more accountable, sober-minded person and it has encouraged me to have a servant's heart, no matter how tough.
Praise Report! I currently think I may have a lady mentor in mind. Her name is Chris, and I just met her this past week as I volunteered at my old church– I'm not asking her just yet or pursuing the mentorship further, and I've been praying about her. She is kind, compassionate, and so generous! Could you be praying with me, that I'd have insight and a peace about her if the Lord would have me pursue this friendship/mentorship further? I told her we should get coffee at some point, and no matter what happens, I have been so blessed by the last week of volunteering! Thank you for all of your prayers for me over the past year-ish! I love you all!

Praying that the upcoming study of Ruth would work in us in real ways. That everything in us that is keeping us from embracing Christ would be crushed as we pursue Him here. Lord, forgive me for being not-real with You and for not relying on Your grace. Bless the rest of this day with honesty, awe at You, and rejoicing in Your glorious name. Praise Him. Amen.

    1. Will definitely pray over this for you, AnnaLee.

Jordan, even without a smartphone, you can use the free Bible app online, too.

  7. Michelle says:

Jordan, do you have a smartphone? If you do, there is a free Bible app from YouVersion with every version you can think of–and then some! While reading a passage, you can easily change from one version to another. I use this to help myself dig deeper into the scriptures–to make sure I’m really grasping what has been written. And you can’t beat the price!

  8. Jordan says:

Excited! Hopefully I'll have enough in the bank to order by Sunday (y'all always seem to get me on a non-pay day week. GAH!)

But may I offer up a question/suggestion? I love the space for notes and prayers in the books, but I struggle with the life application. At the end of each devotional, would y'all be able to give a few suggestions/ideas for this section? I think if I see some ideas I'd be able to come up with some of my own.

And my suggestion: Is there a way for the next study packet to include the scriptures (either all or the most crucial verses) IN the packet? I ask, because y'all use ESV in the devotionals, and I use an NIV bible; the wording a lot of the times is really different, and I get REALLY confused. I know I could get an ESV bible, but I have to use NIV for school and just purchased it. (I know you can't have too many bibles, but dang, they're expensive on a college kid budget! ;) ) If that's asking too much or too complicated, it's no worries, just a slight suggestion! Thanks y'all for these pretty AND functional bible studies!

    1. megan w says:

Bible.com has a parallel text tool, so you can view two translations side by side. I really like using it to see how the vocabulary and wording changes, and it has really helped me to better understand the Word. Hope that helps!

    2. AnnaLee says:

I second megan w.– I use the biblia link they have at SRT and sometimes read through the passage in many different translations just to get a deeper, fuller understanding of what the text is saying. I am in the same boat with getting a new bible! I absolutely love the NIV bible I'd had since freshman year of high school, but I've had to completely repair the outer part twice. Could I suggest going to a thrift store? You'd be really surprised at all the different translations and good application bibles there are for WAY less money! I'm currently looking around for a message or NLT version/Application bible now. I'll be praying that you'd be blessed in the future studies as you use your pack :) Have a great day, friend!
