As the Israelites were preparing to enter into the promised land after wandering in the desert, Rahab was a Canaanite woman in Jericho who hid the Israelite spies planning to conquer the city. Her loyalty to God was rewarded with a place and protection among God’s people, even though she was an outsider.

Consider the details of Rahab’s story. What do we learn about God’s family through Rahab’s story?

I can’t help but think of the parallels of Jesus’s parables of the kingdom of God. When one perceives the light and forsakes all to earnestly pursue it.
In the midst of a pagan cult and a dark occupation, Rehab perceived the light and instead of withdrawing it brought her near, she sought the light and it was salvation to her and her family. I can’t help but see the gospel.

God and Rehab always had each other’s backs and always tried to protect each other from bad situations and people.

The Lord didn’t see race colour or status. He sees hearts. His blood line is Do diverse and his character references are varied. It gives hope when out loved ones choose paths of unwelcome lives.. that no one is outside of God’s reach. Whosoever will to the Lord may come…He’ll not turn one away, not even a prostitute.
