Rather than provide a written response to each Psalm, we will offer a simple yet meaningful activity designed to help us recall God’s mercies to us and through time. So grab a journal, and let’s create our own songs of thanksgiving to God. May He use His Word to turn our hearts toward Him.

A psalm of thanksgiving.
Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;

He made us, and we are His —

I hope you all had a nice weekend. Psalms of Gratitude are so good to meditate on again and again, to read slow and to savor. Today I am reminded of “serving the Lord with gladness”, not out of obligations and not with complaining/pouting attitude. And our God is just to reward us according to all our works (Romans 2:6). He is always fair and generous. Gladness is a substance that comes from within a glad heart. I sat and pondered for a while, I feel burdened and unappreciated lately, and I cannot produce gladness on my own. Serving is hard as it is when some things are unobservable. Besides, I really cannot flex my muscles to produce gladness. Then the whisper of the Spirit “You have not because you ask not” (James 4:2). It’s Him who makes us glad as we serve. May we ask God to give us a gladness attitude as we serve, in all that we do, from the lowest/thankless jobs behind the scenes to the ones in the spotlights, when men will often not acknowledge or thank us, but may we not grow weary in serving as if we serve unto the Lord, and He is El Roi (The God who sees me). SARAH- i’m sorry for your frustration… I am, i’ve been there. I’ll be praying for sure that God gives you either peace in the storm of this current job and the strength to keep focused where He has you, or an open door that He will walk through with you. If it’s not too nosey, may I ask what position you’re looking for? I know educational settings are hiring for fall 23 year – have you checked out companies like EBS or Soliant? They are placement companies (there are more obviously) but I have a lot of friends who have worked with them and they can find some good positions and negotiate good contracts/pay/signing bonus/etc… If you are not tied to a location, they can also set you up on temporary assignments that pay for your housing/plus good bonuses and you get a chance to travel around some :) They work with a lot of different careers. Anyway – worth a search! :) Prayers for you friend – you’re not alone or unseen ❤️

Good morning ladies!! Followed you all over here! Ladies, I would love prayer as I know you all have been for me. It is slowly ramping up to be the busy season at my work, and I really want to leave before then. I haven’t heard back yet from the applications I submitted, but I am praying that I can leave this job by June. I know the Lord will do what he sees best, and I know the responsible thing would be to wait until I have another job lined up, but I do not want to be at this job anymore. Please pray that I would find another job soon and that the Lord would open new doors for me. I am still looking for places to apply to, so please pray that the Lord will show me where to apply and open the right places for me. I have been applying mainly to private schools, however I may consider applying to public schools in the area as well, even though I don’t feel called to there…we’ll see. Thank you all for your prayers.
THERESA- YES!!!! I was hit with the exact same thoughts as I read.. He owes me NOTHING. The fact i’m living and breathing and so cared for as it is is beyond anything I deserve. I need to remember that regardless of how hard life gets or unexpected my circumstances are, it in NO way should impact the heart in which I still praise. I’m still privileged to demonstrate humble gratitude for nothing else but His great existence.
HE is the one worthy of praise – not the “gifts” He lovingly gives.
This psalm is such a “reset” button for me. It takes everything back and puts it in perspective.
-What posture should my heart have? Gratitude and humility in all things.
-Where should my mind stay focused? Yahweh; my Creator; my Savior.
-What should be on my lips? Praise, thanksgiving, words of recognition of WHO HE is, has been, and always will be.
I am coming off of an extremely busy weekend that was collided with a busy week. Due to schedules just being what they were, most of last week and all of the weekend, I was left with 100% of parenting-duties for my 3, pick ups, sports, drop offs, lunches, school, entertainment, dinner, etc – and this all on top of MY own responsibilities and this being my “finals weeks” for my last 2 weeks of the semester. Gratitude has NOT been on my mind and a lot more shouting of frustration has come out of my mouth than shouting of praise. I’m regretful I didn’t handle it better. No pun intended, but I am so grateful to spend this time just focusing on the fact my God is good, faithful, competent, and wise. His love for me will never shift, His joy over me will never dampen, and His invitations to me will never expire. He loves because it’s WHO He is.
Praying for everyone to have a refreshment of insight into their loving Creator this week… :) ❤️
As I was reading this Psalm, I thought and prayed for unsaved family members that they would begin to “serve the Lord with gladness;” that they would “acknowledge that Yahweh is God;” that they would be “His people and the sheep of His pasture.” I’m so thankful that “His faithfulness endures through all generations.” Thank you Lord!
Imagine my surprise this morning while in prayer to have the quiet broken by loud trumpets and a happy shout of “Doot to da doo!” (I think our cat jostled our granddaughter’s walking toy. I always love me some Psalms ❤️
I was reminded of this psalm a few months ago when I prayed with a friend on the phone. Anytime she prays, she sings a short song of worship in the beginning to express her gratitude towards God. It was very convicting. I also heard a teaching pastor once share that God reminded her in a dream this psalm and told her He wanted her thanksgiving, not just her requests.
That stuck with me.
I know I struggle to be thankful when I feel annoyed by my circumstances. But we are always to be thankful for God’s saving grace. There is always a reason to thank God. May I remember that!!

I really haven’t read a lot of Psalms, I just know the favorite/popular ones that get used a lot. I usually like the break down and study of the other books, but I think this will be a nice change for two weeks. We should always be full of gratitude and praise for our Father God! “He made us, and we are His!” Hallelujah!
The command in this Psalm does not come with any conditions. I don’t shout triumphantly to the Lord only when things are going my way or serve him with gladness when I’m being asked to do something I want to do. These commands apply to all days and all circumstances because the Lord is God of it all.

I had something happen at a church and turned from god. He was faithful like always and in the last 3 month I have started my relationship with him again. So encouraged by this psalm! It is such a good reminder that we are to give thanks in everything that our God has, is, and will do in our lives. Yahweh is greatly to be praised. My pray is that we, believers, would not forget to give our God the praise that He is due. What more should we want or desire!!! He saved us when we were at our worst. He are daughters of the King Most High. May we alway yield in humble sum mission and trust wherever our God leads. For He is a good and loving Shepherd.

It’s so amazing to me that God created the sunsets and the seas, the mountains and the trees, and He thought the world needed one of me. It leaves me speechless every time I think about it, and I am eternally grateful for that love, grace, and mercy.

I recently watched a video,it was showed how a group of sheep where almost ran over by a train. The train honked at the sheep whilst it was still far away,it eventually caught up with them and could come to a complete stop but kept honking. The sheep started moving when the train got closer but instead of moving out of danger they continued on the tracks. After what seems to have been a long time of following and trying to alert the sheep to get out of the way,the train driver decided to to talk to the sheep through the PR system. Lo and behold the sheep started to move from the tracks for the grass. God just laid it in my heart that we are just like these sheep. Sometimes we don’t see the danger we are in but praise God for his word… his voice that saves us. He is to be praised above all.

He allows me in His courts & I stand humbled & marvel. He sings His song over me & my heart’s response is to sing it back to Him. A continual song of thanksgiving, dining at His table, basking in His glory.

Even in the midst of pain and hardships, I praise you and give you thanks Lord. My faith is made stronger and perseveres in the storm. I pray for more of you and less of me Lord. We are pure gold to God and that is so crazy to comprehend. I love that Psalm 100 acknowledges that God is worth more than even gold and we should consider that more in our daily lives. Short and sweet devo, but such a true and profound idea. Our minds can’t even understand how much we are worth to God and I hope I can show Him more every day how much He is truly worth to me in my own little world.
Wow! There’s so much beauty in still being thankful even when going through a tough situation. During times of struggle it’s easy to focus on the negative or the struggles. I pray this study can be encouraging and help all to focus on the blessings in our lives. My husband’s job is tricky and can be very stressful at times. I’ve been allowing myself to dwell in the struggles vs rejoicing in the goodness that God has blessed us with. I am so thankful for SRT and for the opportunity to go back and repeat devotions when they best fit in my life. I look forward to 14 days of rejoicing, self reflection and growing closer to God! I have recently had the opportunity today to reconnect with a dear cousin of mine that was taken from my family in an ugly divorce 18 years ago. God has used me to bring her back into my families life, My grandmothers life, and now I pray her fathers life. She has not seen him since her mother received full custody. But tonight I will not pray asking God for her to want to meet her dad– I will only thank God for this huge day for my sweet grandmother and my family. What a blessing it was. And how thankful I am. I praise His name.
I am so thankful that God loves me always, no matter what. Through all of my trials and tribulations, even the ones brought on myself. Through the deaths of my dad and sister, and all the sickness that my mom has been through, he has always been here. I see Him in every good thing in this world. This was a needed reminder to praise Him because He is God. Regardless of our circumstances. When we learn to or aside our troubles to simply declare His goodness, He begins working in those troubles. I’m at a please where I don’t know what else to do. I’m dealing with depression and most days are great, but then it hits me. It comes like a tidal wave when I’m overwhelmed, stressed, feeling weak. I’m having such a hard time knowing my direction in my workplace and it’s causing a ripple effect in the rest of my life. My house is typically a reflection of how I’m feeling and dealing with every day life. Needless to say my house is a disaster and it makes me feel like a terrible wife which just adds to the spiral. Reading this today though, reminds me that God is in control. The JOY of the Lord is our strength. I know shouting out a joyful noise will cause something spiritual to break. I just have to keep praising him through my circumstances.
Praise God for his faithfulness and willingness to continue to love me even when I stray. I will shout for joy for He has given me freedom and the opportunity to share his goodness with others.
