practicing intercession

Open Your Bible

Acts 12:5-12, Ephesians 6:18

Today is a good, good day. Today, we as a community of women are going to put into action the principle of prayer we have discussed over the last two days. Today, we will intentionally participate in the privilege of intercession.

Grab a pen and paper, and let’s dive in.

Write out a prayer of intercession:

  • Identify the need(s) of a person or community. Simply quiet your heart before the Lord and listen as he brings a person or group to mind. Write down their name(s).

  • With that person/group on your heart, review the days of instruction and examples of intercession.

  • Write a prayer to the Lord on behalf of that person or group of people using the principles of prayer we have learned from the examples of Jesus, Nehemiah and Moses.

  • Praise God that He hears your prayer and that He is always, always, always faithful. Amen.

I pray for my daughter Andrea. She has accepted her gay life but this is not what the Lord has planned for her. May the Lord send bold christian men and women into her life to witness to her Christ character and love for her so that she will open her heart to him that loves her unconditionally. In the Lords time and for his glory! Amen

I chose to pray for all the modern slaves. Jesus, you are great. Set them free from their captors and comfort them. Let your will be done!

I have never written out an intercessory prayer. This was a wonderful experience. I'm praying for my dear friend Sara, the one I asked you all to join me in praying for the other day, the one we are praying will have her first successful pregnancy. I know this is it. I claim it for her in Jesus name!

I pray today for Megan & her family. I pray for my friend Holly, who is in the hospital today to give birth to her twin boys! I pray for my best friend Jen & sweet little best friend Kaley as they have waited through a long tax season for Dave to resume normal work hours & a normal family life. I praise God that Dave made it through his first tax season! I pray for quick & complete healing of my furry boy Charlie's foot. Those prayers are a no brainer. Here comes the harder ones — not that I haven't been saying these prayers privately for a long time (some are years in the making) — but because God calls me to come to him BOLDLY and give ALL of myself, I will share these prayers publicly now: I pray for my mom Linda, who suffers from Alzheimer's & my dad Roger, her caregiver. I pray for my brother Gary & my cousin Jeri. I pray for healing of the difficult dynamics that have been the hallmark of my relationships with my dad & brother and our family as a whole. I pray for healing after a recent, shocking betrayal by Jeri, who I have always looked up to as a big sister. I pray for a continued commitment today to forgive & let it all of these difficulties & resentments go, as I wrote about after Easter. I pray for unity in the spirit of our Lord and the strength to do His bidding – my part – to make that unity happen. I pray for my boyfriend Doug, that he may be lifted up by our Lord & that I continue my commitment to be a vessel of our Lord's love, grace, and compassion in our relationship. Let me love Doug as he needs my love, not as I think he should need. Let me seek first to understand, not to be understood. Let me be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. I pray that God becomes the glue of our bond. In all of these difficult circumstances, I pray that my words written here are not hollow. I pray for your will, Lord, not my own. I can't do it without You. I know You are in the business of moving mountains in all our lives & I wait expectantly with joy for what You have planned.

For this community of women, I praise God for bringing me here to you. I pray for all of the people & circumstances on your hearts – both written & unwritten here on the blog – that you will find hope and healing in our Lord's name. I also pray that where ever you are in the world, you have a beautiful sunny Spring day like I have here in NC. Ready to get outside now & play! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Praying first for all my Sisters here and whatever prayers they need. May our Father fulfill all your hopes and prayers according to His will.
I’m continuing to pray for my son and would appreciate any help I can get! I pray that God continues to reveal Himself and that Will learns that he has a friend and father in God! That he will be healed mentally and emotionally. That he comes back from whatever dark place he’s been, and that his thoughts of suicide are cast away- now and forever!
For my ex, that he finds God for himself, and to help our son by becoming the spiritual leader he can be..
For my friend Melanie, that she also returns to faith!
I know this can be accomplished Lord, according to your will, in your time. Grant me the patience to see it thru and completed, all for your glory, AMEN
Wishing all of you a glorious day!!

Such needs everywhere. I was led to pray for Megan, as well, but also for my friend Molly, a believer who struggles with bi-polar. And also for my children, both of have left the faith and are bitter about church. Please lift them up with me.

Praying for a friend of mine named Ian today. He just needs guidance as to where to go, and what to do next in his life. He is in a great relationship with a Christian girl, but at the same time he is pushing others away to focus on her and her alone. I pray that God would guide and direct his every step, and show him exactly what to do next. I reminded God of His promise in Jeremiah 29:11 of plans for good, and a future, and a hope.

Amen! Have a wonderful Saturday, ladies! :)
