Nehemiah 8:10b

Today, as a body of women, let’s meditate on and memorize God’s word. Not for our own glory or honor, but for the joy of our Father and the growth of His Truth in our hearts.

“And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10b

Also I forgot to write in the last post when I saw today's memory verse, it was like the Lord was speaking straight to my heart. Then I started crying again. God is so good and a stronghold in the time of trouble. Thanks

Dear Sisters. I want to thank you all for praying for me a few weeks back for wisdom with my mom. The Lord answered that prayer. He had a better place for her than I could have ever found. He took her home yesterday evening. My heart is very heavy but I know she's with my dad, my only brother and our precious Savior. I know they are walking hand in hand in the City of the King.

She's been ready and waiting for the call since my dad went home. I rejoice knowing that I will see her again, but my heart is aching and I can't seem to stop crying. Please pray that I will be able to get through the next few weeks. Thank you and God bless.

The Lord's answers aren't always our first choice, but you are right He found the very best place for her. Praying for you as you go through this season of loss.

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. John 16:20

Feeling under attack today, so this short, but powerful, Word is so timely and needed. Thank you Jesus! I’m saying it over and over–both aloud and mentally–I WILL NOT be grieved, for the Joy of The Lord is my strength, I WILL NOT be grieved, for the Joy of The Lord is my strength, I WILL NOT be grieved, for the Joy of The Lord is my strength…

I love that right before this, the scripture says "This is a sacred day before our Lord." May I always remember that Sunday is not the only "sacred" day before our Lord, but that everyday I should rejoice for the joy of the Lord is my strength!

  7. Cynthia says:

This is the day that The Lord has made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it! Praying for all those that need lifting up in prayer. Praying everyone will enter into His presence. In His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand pleasures forever more. Be blessed my sisters!

I've struggled with arthritic pain, especially in my legs. When I'd get pain, I'd repeat outloud, "The joy of the Lord is my strength." Sometimes, in the moment what I was doing didn't seem to be reaching God or helping me. But I got through and I see myself growing stronger: spiritually, emotionally, and physically!
I've gotten sick this weekend and I've been saddened (it's a church service I was really looking forward to attending) I have to cling harder to this verse. In some translations, this reads, "The joy of the Lord is my stronghold."
God, remind me that you are my refuge, my stronghold, my strength – that without you I am nothing but with you I am more than something. Lend your Spirit to me, to comfort and strengthen me and allow this day, this week, this year to move forward as you see fit. I promise to follow You. Amen.
