Humanity has always had an overconfidence when it comes to solving our own problems. We wear rolled-up sleeves and dirty knees like a badge of honor. After all, we’re problem solvers with grit in our bones.
Except, of course, we aren’t. Not where it counts the most.
Our bend toward self-sufficiency is merely the fever that points to the infection of sin in our hearts. When we recognize that sin separates us from life and light, and that we are destined for forever darkness, our hearts wail, “Who will intervene for us?!”
Jesus will. Jesus has.
Priest may feel like a clunky concept to modern, evangelical minds, but our souls understand the concept of an intermediary. We understand an intervener. We understand an advocate. God’s people always have.
When the Israelites were learning to live free and chosen, the Lord called Aaron and his descendants to step in as holy mediators. God’s people stood together breathless outside the Tent of Meeting as the priests stood between them and the wrath they deserved. “Approach the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering; make atonement for yourself and for the people. Sacrifice the people’s offering and make atonement for them, as the LORD commanded” (Leviticus 9:7).
The problem was that people kept sinning and the debt kept climbing. Aaron and his priesthood could slaughter every bull, soaking the promised land with blood, and still they’d be separated from God by the compounding sin. No can-do spirit would ever be enough to save. Heaven help us! What are we to do?
The levitical priests may have been set apart, but they were still sinners, making their sacrifices insufficient to fix what we’ve broken. Because Christ alone is sinless, He alone was able to offer the full and final sacrifice required for your sin and for mine. And He’s done it. He became the perfect sacrifice on the cross and now sits enthroned, as your intermediary. Forever.
It’s okay to stand breathless outside the Tent of Meeting in your mind from time to time and feel the weight of what your sinfulness has done to your relationship with the Father. But don’t linger there for long.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who one has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin.
—Hebrews 4:15
That’s the miraculous what. Here’s the spectacular “so what now?”
Let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.
—Hebrews 4:16
Your High Priest has made the ultimate sacrifice. Stop holding your breath. Stop leaning on self-sufficiency. Run instead to the arms of your Heavenly Father, knowing our intervenor has intervened.

I needed this … I have not been reading like I should . But this last Sunday’s service and this or more than enough of a sign to me . I pray the lord gives me hatred toward my signs that do not keep me aligned with him
Thank You, Jesus!

What a great reminder that God is in control and that it’s not a badge of honor to try to do things without Him!
was going to say something very similar! i’m a notorious ‘planner,’ but GOD has the plan. His plan trumps mine!
So true!
Let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need..
.
Amen and Thank you Jesus, my High Priest, my Saviour..❤
I am grateful that Jesus Christ offered himself as a full and final sacrifice for my sins.
“Let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.”
—Hebrews 4:16
With BOLDNESS, my sisters.
Not bashful.
Not belittled.
Not begging.
We are beautiful, yet sinful.
He knows that. Yet…
The Great Intervener has already intervened.
Glory to God!
Amen.❤
What a lovely reading today. Praise God for people who make resources like this available and help people draw closer to Him.
Just what I needed to end my night thank you God
A wonderful reminder that God has the ability to take care of me and solve my problems better than I can. I needed this reminder today. I try too hard to solve my own problems when all I have to do is submit to him and he will take care of me.
❤️
It is so amazing to know that regardless of my depth of sin… He still chooses to be my mediator and advocate with Abba!
I have a hard time keeping up with all the comments the past few months, tbh.
These passages really hit home, today.
I’ve been struggling emotionally bc I opened my heart to a person that I shouldn’t have and I’ve been really upset I allowed that to come between me and the Lord. I didn’t even want to draw the boundaries at first, but now I really have no choice. I want to follow the Lord and be a good example to this person, too.
I know the Lord deals gently with me. He’s literally been repeating that Scripture to me (Hebrews 5:2) this week. So reading it here makes it that more serious and real. ❤️
The whole emotional situation caught me off guard bc the other person was a believer and meant well, but I wasn’t really guarding my heart like I normally do because of his innocence and age. I shared more than I should have and in the end it hurt me… though he seems fine.
Live and learn I guess.
This season has been so humbling to me…
Lord God, please keep me on the straight and narrow. ❤️
Michelle, praying your struggle emotionally, will end and be more of a life experience than a thing that is making you sad. I’m sorry for your troubles and upset.
God be with you as you work through this..❤
Lord be with Michelle. Heal the hurting she is feeling and fill the hole with your love. I pray she experiences your grace for the decisions she made recently. She is your child, who you have chose and dearly love. Hugs to you sweet Michelle!
Michelle, agreeing with our sisters and praying for discernment in this matter. I am thankful the other person is ok, but so sorry you are struggling. Love you! ❤
Thank You, Jesus, for being our High Priest and our Defender!
Good afternoon, She’s! How beautiful is it that the creator of the heavens and stars, also created you! It makes me emotional to think that we have a God who knows us so deeply and lovingly.. that will go to bat for you in every obstacle. Praying for all of you ladies.
❤
Thank you for the reminder! I needed it!Jesus, our High Priest, has already made the ultimate sacrifice, and there’s nothing more to prove. I need to stop leaning on my own strength and rest in the grace He’s already provided. I need to trust fully in His intervention and love.
In yet another deployment my “bend toward self-sufficiency” is in every aspect of my life. Thankful for this devotion for reminding me that Christ sits on a throne of grace that covers all of my failings and sin. He will supply me with what I need daily and has already removed what separates me from light and life
❤️
Thank you ABBA for loving me so much that you made a way for me to be with you. Thank you for continuing my sanctification ✨
Update: social worker agreed our mama was not neglecting the baby and will work on helping her get resources.
AND she will be investigating the mama’s accuser.
On my knees in tears for God’s mercy.
Thank you for interceding today. Still many obstacles but so thankful God showed up in a big way for her today.

Happy advent, everybody!
Self-sufficiency is one of the lies that I had to debunk when coming to Christ. It is a dangerous concept – though seemingly very empowering, building-up, inspiring (in the self help department/ podcast /books this concept is strong), but indeed, a snare and a trap to a life following Jesus. Jesus is enough for us, more than enough. The supernatural grace when exhaustion sets in, disappointments and frustration comes. The grace through just whispering a quick prayer, can disperse darkness. Almost too good to be true. Lean not on yourself, you can fall real quick. Lean on Him.
.
@TRACI: praise Jesus for Debbie’s testimony.
@INDIANA ELAINE: thinking of your family today, praying for your brother’s family.
@SEARCHING: i had that message yesterday too when posting via my cell, I thought it was weird cuz I do things slowly. I was like.. excuse me! (lol).
@KELLY (NEO): praying for the lady and her 4 month old baby, may the Lord surround her with help, and provide solutions, may this draw her heart toward the Savior who truly can save.
.
Be blessed dear sisters.
Love this, Mercy! “The grace through just whispering a quick prayer, can disperse darkness. Almost too good to be true. Lean not on yourself, you can fall real quick. Lean on Him.”❤❤❤
❤️ thanks CEE GEE ❤️
Almost too good to be true. Almost… but God ❤️ Leaning on Him with you, Mercy.

God is good. Always..
Your godly man will come, hold fast to God’s promises and trust HIM..
Praying, Tanya..❤
Not sure what happened there..sorry!:)
Let’s try again..
Amen, Mercy..❤
I like how the devotional took us back and gave us a picture of what the people must have been feeling as their sins were atoned for. I think we have, I have, lost sight of how significant it is that our sins are forgiven and how crucial that is to have life and a relationship with God. We are so very blessed.
❤️
Amen
Dear Jesus, thank you for being the ultimate intermediary for me. Thank you for becoming the perfect sacrifice on the cross so I can stop leaning on self-sufficiency, and instead run to the only one who is sufficient. Praise be to God that I do not have to find unblemished animals and trek to the temple to be in your presence and in relationship with you. Thank you for being a High Priest who is able to sympathize with my weakness and the temptations I face. For you were also tempted, yet without sin. Thank you that for this reason you call me to approach the throne of grace with boldness (carrying no animals or grains to atone for myself) so that I can receive your abounding mercy and grace to help me in times of need. Thank you for never giving up on your creation, and for your plan of salvation and restoration you had from the beginning of time!
Amen ❤️
Amen!
How are you dear sister? Hope well and that life is being kind to you..❤
❤️
Sometimes I feel like the enemy tempts me to NOT go to the Father by using fear of Him being upset with me. He will never anger. He told me Himself. Sometimes His heart may be broken but He will never be angry or turn His back on me, or any of us!!! He’s not flesh. He’s GOD.
Note from John MacArthur Study Bible on Hebrews 5:9-
Because of the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ and His perfect sacrifice for sin, He became the cause of salvation.
obey Him. True salvation evidences itself in obedience to Christ, from the initial obedience to the gospel command to repent and believe (cf. Acts 5:32; Rom. 1:5; 2 Thess. 1:8; 1 Pet. 1:2, 22; 4:17) to a life pattern of obedience to the Word (cf. Rom. 6:16).

So many great songs mentioned! I went in search for one and found a beautiful song I haven’t heard before by Christy Nockels, “Where Would I Be?”:
If ever I’m asked for the reason for the hope I have
If I’m to share when my life began
I wouldn’t hold back the answer that my heart knows well
The one I sing over and over again
Where would I be without the blood?
Where would I be without your love?
You took my place on Calvary
Without the blood where would I be?
I wouldn’t know Your peace in my darkest night
I wouldn’t hope from a heart made new
I’d still be longing for the answer to the ache inside
Jesus I’d still be searching for you!
Where would I be without the blood?
Where would I be without your love?
You took my place on Calvary
Without the blood where would I be?
Some may try to explain away
The sacrifice You made
But Jesus I remember
Your precious life, poured out on the cross
Perfect, Lamb of God
Jesus, I remember
That Your blood it speaks a better word
Than anything I’ve heard
And Jesus I remember
That it sounds like the sweetest, freedom song
And I still sing along
Cause Jesus I remember
I remember
Where would I be without the blood?
Where would I be without your love?
You took my place on Calvary
Without the blood where would I be?
Where would I be without the blood?
Where would I be without your love?
You took my place on Calvary
Without the blood where would I be?
My Jesus
Without the blood where would I be?

Heaven Help Me
Song by Zach Williams
When I can’t find the words
When I can barely breathe
I’m falling on my knees
Heaven help me, Heaven help me
When I can’t feel You near
And I can’t hear You speak
I’m falling on my knees
Heaven help me, Heaven help me
Help me, help me
‘Cause I can’t walk this road alone
And I can’t do this on my own
Tell me, tell me
I just need to hear You say
That everything will be okay
When I don’t understand
When I don’t think I can
I know You have a plan
So Heaven help me, Heaven help me
Help me, help me
‘Cause I can’t walk this road alone
And I can’t do this on my own
Tell me, tell me
‘Cause I just need to hear You say
That everything will be okay
Help me believe it
When I can’t see it
Help me to know it
When I can’t hold it
Oh, help me believe it
When I can’t see it
Help me to know it
When I can’t hold it
Help me, help me
‘Cause I can’t walk this road alone
And I can’t do this on my own
Tell me (tell me), tell me (tell me)
I just need to hear You say
That everything will be okay
Oh, I just need to hear You say
That everything will be okay
When I can’t find the words
When I can barely breathe
I’m falling on my knees
Well, Heaven help me, Heaven help me.
Right away this song came to mind. I clung to this song knowing the only way to survive what we were going through was to trust God. And He is faithful.
❤️
Traci, thank you for sharing this beautiful song. I don’t recall hearing it before. ❤
The other priests were only able to temporarily remove sin. Without Jesus we wouldn’t have a priest.
Phew, it is like we can breath again…all thanks to Jesus!
Thank you Jesus!
ONCE for all time… in Hebrews 10:10. Why do I think it is ME who needs to do it, you know? He is my hope all day, every day!
Jesus, thank you for loving us so very much.❤️
I needed this reminder that I don’t have to be self-sufficient. I am a single older lady who doesn’t like to call people to help me. But a few weeks back, a top section of a tree fell in my yard. I need help cutting it up. We are in the middle of a snow storm and the city plows come by my house and plug up the end of my driveway with snow and sand, making it very difficult to remove. I need help. Last night the wind was so strong it blew a section of my wooden fence down. I need help. I’m sitting here realizing my heart rate is a little higher than normal, anxious about how I’m going to get all the help I need. And then I read this devotional. I realize this devotional is talking primarily about sin, but I also think it applies to every area of our life. Jesus is here for me in any situation where I need help. I can’t do all these things by myself, I need Him to either provide me with friends who can help me out, or to provide me with money to pay someone to help me. But, in the end, Jesus is my sufficiency, He is my provider, He is my help. Jesus is our hope, not only for salvation, but for every part of our life, the big things, the little things. He is the Master over all
❤️
❤️
Praying for this situation to resolve with good help for you.
❤️

“I run to the Father. I fall into grace. I’m done with the hiding. No reason to wait. My heart needs a surgeon. My soul needs a friend. So I’ll run to the Father again and again.” This beautiful song by Cody Carnes is what came to mind. Thank you JESUS, our sweet JESUS for paying the price of our sin and we now have access to come straight-to-you with our burdens and ask for forgiveness. I can not. And will not do life with out my JESUS! He is my everything! Something very heavy is weighing on me. I’m running to my JESUS and to you sweet She’s to pray for direction.
Love that song!!!
I live that song, too, Mari! Thanks for sharing!
Praying that Your Jesus will guide you and show you the way, dear Mari ❤️
Praying for clear guidance and direction, Mari.
Praying MARI, that your heart weight is lightened..
‘Come to me all who are heavy made new and I will give you rest..’
Praying you give Jesus your burdens, so He may give you His light yolk..❤
You have finished the work. You have intervened on my behalf. I can run to you, knowing you are always there and will always be there intervening for me- whether I am aaare of it or not. Praise be to God who intervenes on my behalf and for your sacrifice of your son to make this possible. I humbly bow before the throne, and thank you that I can boldly come to you – without the need for a tent to separate us
I love this prayer, Megan. Thank you.
Amen! So wonderfully said, Megan
Amen ❤️
Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, he washed it white as snow.
Oh how many times have I sang this song without really thinking about the lyrics. I’ve always known that blood leaves a stain. The sacrifice of animals time after time, year after year – what a stain that must have left! And then the stain of the blood of Jesus after being beaten and bled out for all to see. Thank you for washing the blood! For separating us from our sin, for forgiving us so that we may forgive ourselves, for washing the stain so we don’t have to be reminded of our sin. ♥️
❤️
“In Christ Alone” my hope is found! The great high priest, has come with grace and mercy to cleanse me! We don’t have to have an intercessor between me and God anymore- no confession to someone else (although that is encouraged), I don’t have to go gather up an unblemished animal and trek to the temple—I am free, through Jesus Christ! My sins forgiven (and there were many!) and I was washed clean!! Hallelujah! Now, it breaks my heart to break his. It mourns me to mourn him. (although I am like Paul- have to fight against my flesh that wants to do what I don’t want to do), (and I have the evil one’s temptations about me constantly!) BUT God—I can do all things through the one who gives me strength! That walks ahead, beside, and behind me. He is my protector, my shield, and armor. He is my hope, peace, love and joy. He is my all and all. May I keep this in my heart and the forefront of my mind this advent, and every day!
Amen! It is in Christ alone our hope is found. Praise God we no longer need to offer sacrifices – Jesus paid it ALL – Hallelujah!
LOVE this!! AND a huge AMEN!!!!!
Yes, ma’am! ❤ Your comment made me think of Chris Tomlin’s Amazing Grace:
(Partial lyrics):
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone, I’ve been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love
Amazing grace
Love that song, Cee Gee!!
❤️❤️
Amen and love all the songs the ladies are sharing today too!
Amen!
Beautiful, I love this.❤
Encouraged by your comments! And so thankful for the reminders in the reading. Going into the day reminded that self-sufficiency is a liar and thief. Holy Spirit, help us to engage you in new and powerful ways today. Amen.
Amen!
Oh what a blessed privilege it is to be able to approach God’s throne – to enter into the holy of hollies, which in ancient times past was reserved for the high priest – and him alone.
—
Not only can we approach His throne, but we are invited to. Jesus is there waiting to extend His mercy and give us grace to help us in our time of need. All we are but to do, is ask.
—
Thank you Father God for sending your son, Your High Priest who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you that I do not need to offer the blood of goats and bulls because Jesus has made me holy through the sacrifice of His body – once, and for all. Thank you, thank you my Father.
—

So thankful to have a father who intervened for us.
Amen. Approach boldly and accept grace.
“Stop leaning on self-sufficiency.” Thank you, Jesus. I’m so tired and overwhelmed from trying to do it on my own. I receive your mercy and grace again this morning. ❤️
So grateful that Jesus intervenes on my behalf. What a gift that I don’t have to measure up on my own – something I could never do. I am so overwhelmingly grateful.
Ladies, I haven’t been around the SRT community for some time now, but I came back for advent this year and am so blessed. We are going through some really hard things this year, and this community is such a sweet place to come and be encouraged. ❤️
So glad you are able to join back Heather. This place is a place of encouragement, peace and love. I will be praying for you as you navigate through your difficult times. ❤️
WELCOME back Heather! WE are so glad you are here with us.

KELLY – Praying for that sweet mama and her baby. What an incredibly hard situation – I can’t even imagine. Praying for the presence and peace of God to fill her heart, and for the social worker to empathize and show compassion and be lead to help her. ❤️
Jesus has the power to intercede because He’s been here, lived a human without sin, and willingly was tortured and killed. For me. For my sins. His mercy and grace overwhelm me this morning. Thank you, Lord!
What a great morning of hope. He says yes see your sin for what it is but do not linger for it has been wiped away and we have complete freedom to go to the throne boldly because of our one and only high priest. Thank you God ❤️
Running to the only One who is sufficient in my insufficiency.
Amen! ❤️
Amen
Thank You Lord Jesus! Amen
Did y’all hear me laughing? Not about today’s study but from the SRT message that popped up when I was posting to A WALTON … “Slow down. You’re posting too quickly.”
Mind you, I post at the speed of a turtle, rereading multiple times and still not catching every typo. :)
–
Today’s verses not only highlight the need for an intercessor, a high priest, a savior but also the sacrifice of Christ as He fulfilled prophecy and stepped into that role for us. When I read and think about the repeated sacrifices required before Christ came, it reminds me yet again that we are blessed in ways we take for granted …. for one – there is no ongoing selection and slaying of lambs or other animals for the altar. Why then does it seem so difficult to humble ourselves, admit we messed up and ask for forgiveness????
–
Songs coming to mind this morning:
-Thank You Jesus for the Blood Applied (Charity Gayle and others)
-What Can Wash Away My Sin (Robert Lowry, 1876)
-There is Power in the Blood (Lewis E Jones, 1899) Questions from these lyrics: Would you be free from the burden of sin? Would you be free from your passion and pride? Would you do service for Jesus your King? Would you live daily His praises to sing?
– Because of Jesus (I have been changed) (Charity Gayle and others)
–
FOLLOW HIM – praying you will continue to study with us, wrapped in the love of God and feeling the love of your sisters here ❤️
INDIANA ELAINE – praying for comfort in your loss, and that you would have a smooth trip if you travel to the memorial for your brother.
RACHEL – so sorry about the loss of your garage, cars and family treasures – and very thankful your husband is safe. Praying for wisdom and guidance as you work to sort out the insurance and replacement details.
Searching – I had that same message pop up recently, I said, “What! Posting to fast?” haha
—
One of my favorite songs -Thank You Jesus For The Blood Applied!
—
I’d also like to add to FOLLOW HIM – yes, continue here with us, you’ll make friends for all eternity!! ❤️
❤ and thanks for the chuckle! Now, if ‘they’ could just fix our typos, we really could ‘post quickly’! If you post at the speed of a turtle, I venture to say I post at the speed of a sloth, also reading through multiple times and still not catching all typos!
Lol!
:) ❤
Exactly what I needed this morning. Been in a negative mindset beating myself up for my wrong choices. Telling myself that I made mistakes to big. And as I read that He was, and is, and continues to be the perfect sacrifice for all my sins, I felt a weight lifted, and a comfort over me. Forgiving myself is the hardest. It’s a heavy ticket the devil has that he reminds me of how many I have hurt with selfish choices. Though I have moved forward and am trying to mend relationships, I struggle to look myself in the eyes. I know Jesus died for me, and I love Him so much, but I also know I have to love me before I can truly love others. This has been a 20 year journey that I can honestly look back and say that I have been free from for 2 years. Temptations still rise but I can say no. Wrong thoughts come up and I hold them and ask for forgiveness. But that 18 years I struggled and constantly asking for forgiveness and I was seeking approval. And I really do see that God loves me. And never gave up on me. I want to continue forward fighting in his victory for what is right. And I do believe God can restore my broken relationships. I just have to stay faithful and pursue Him.
Thank you for sharing your heart this morning.
RICHELLE – praying, sister, as you continue trusting the Lord as He guides your journey of mending and restoring relationships with those around you. You are right that He has not/will not give up on you! There is nothing our God can’t do.
Thank you
God can most definitely restore broken relationships! Be encouraged, don’t listen to the lies of Satan that are right from the pit of hell! God is able.
—
“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you.” Joel 2:25-27 ❤️
Thank you
❤
God is truly amazing! So grateful for your friend’s good news!
Richelle, you have started the journey..God will be your guide each day if you ask Him. Trust him.
He HAS been with you the whole time, now it’s your turn to trust HIM see what He can do! For it is no secret what God CAN do.. He is with you..❤
Thank you
Thank you Jesus.
I really enjoyed listening to the SRT podcast with Ann Voskamp – she talks about the sheep and the sacrifice and I leaned so much!
Such a great morning thinking about how Jesus is our perfect high priest! He did what we could not do, what no earthly priest could do. He was and is the perfect sacrifice so we can approach the throne with boldness! Yes, we need to at times recognize our sin and what that means but I like what it said this morning don’t linger for we have been set free! Thank you Jesus! ❤️
Amen!Set free from the chains of sin! ❤️
“For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified.”
.
It’s hard to imagine being “perfected,” but in God’s eyes that is how He sees me. Not that I am perfect, but I believe the term means I am made whole, returnin to the way God intended for humans to be–unstained from sin. Mind-blowing, right?
.
And this gives great HOPE to know one dayy my eeality will align with His.
.
So many great comments yesterday, ladies. Thank you for enriching us all by contributing.
.
RACHEL – how frightening about the fire. Thankful you and your husband are ok. Praying for the Lord’s peace to cover you as you navigate the loss and insurance claims.

May I ask for you to pray for one of the women I serves? She was recently baptized. This triggered a series of events that has put her and her 4 month old out on the street. She has a job working 3rd shift. She is in a hotel paid for by a local ministry until the 11th. She is on a waiting list for a shelter. Someone reported her to children’s services for abuse and neglect. She is scared and stressed that the social worker will take the baby from her today at the scheduled meeting. So many things to be praying for, but this meeting today is the most urgent. That the social worker will see a very healthy and happy baby, and drop the case. It would be even better if the worker adovcated for her instead to find stable housing. All such a hot mess. Thank you.
Praying, KELLY, for a good outcome from today’s meeting! And for stable housing, a 1st shift job (thinking day care assistance may be available those hours), God’s best for this young mom. For a caring and helpful social worker who’s focused on helping and problem solving.
“And this gives great HOPE to know one day my reality will align with His”. I love this thought!
Praying for this young mum for a good outcome from today’s meeting and for God’s protection and stability for her and her son.
Oh man Kelly, heavy stuff. Will for sure be praying for her and her precious baby.
What an awful situation for this single mom to find herself in. Prayers that she can find shelter, that God will intervene, and that the case against her will be dropped.
Praying for all involved- especially the social worker and her ability to help!
Oh Father, we come to You because You are the one we can depend on to hear us, to answer our call, to intervene for us. I ask you to look down on this situation with this mother and baby. She is believing in You and needs your help today. Please provide her with permanent housing, and please give her favor with the social worker. Please let this young mother know Your very presence and provision in this situation. Strengthen her, surround her with positive Christian helpers. Bless this little baby with lots of love and care and everything it needs to prosper and grow and be healthy. May their story be proof of Your goodness and faithfulness.
Kelly, thank you for sharing this prayer need! Agreeing with our sisters here for divine intervention. ❤
Kelly, I saw the story’s end.. Absolutely thankful that God was in the process and all is well.. Praise God..❤
While I have read these passages before, I do not often think of Jesus in that priest role but today I considered that He hears my repentance, He guides me in His way, He prays and intercedes for me and He loves me despite all my sin. What a beautiful role He plays as my own personal, perfect High Priest!
❤️
Amen! ❤️
@Lori- what a great way to look at this! I too have read several times but never really broke it down the way you did! Thanks!
“For by one offering He [Jesus] has perfected forever those who are sanctified.” Heb. 10:14
Praising the Lord today for His magnificent sacrifice for us!

“How can I repay the Lord
for all the good He has done for me?
I will take the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.”
— Psalm 116:12-14 (CSB)
.
I read this Psalm yesterday and I had to go back to it after today’s readings. The Enduring Word commentary says:
“It is a profound insight: the only way we can repay God from Whom everything comes, is by taking even more of Him.”
(James Montgomery Boice)
.
I also learned that this Psalm was part of the Egyptian Hallel Psalms (113-118) that Jesus sang on the night of his betrayal and arrest (Matthew 26:30, Mark 14:26).
.
He actually took the cup of salvation, called on the name of the Lord and fulfilled his vows to the Lord… May we never forget the cost of taking that cup!
.
“So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
— Hebrews 4:16 (MSG)
Julia,
Thank you for sharing this. Sometimes His Mercy can be overwhelming. To think that He did it all for me is incredible.
Me too.. I have tears often, at this sobering thought and truth..❤

Thank you for praying for my son. His injury to his mouth is improving. Even his underbite has now changed closer to normal. I am amazed. One of his front teeth was so wiggly, I thought it would fall out soon. It isn’t really wiggly anymore! He still isn’t back to normal yet, but it’s been a week and a few days after his fall and he has improved greatly. He eats anything he puts his mind to. Thank you. Praising God.
Praising God with you!♥️

Thank you, Father!
Praise God for his quick recovery!…
Are there any updates on the land you bought, or the building of a home?
Thank you for that (great!) update… He took such good care of your son. (Why are we ever surprised, when we are surprised, you know?) ❤️
Wonderful blessing! Thanks for the update! ❤
