Description
The Hebrew word qadosh is translated “set apart as holy.” It can be used in a general sense to describe places, objects, and people who have been set apart for religious purposes. But as a name, Qadosh, or “Holy One,” describes God as one who is set apart from His creation, from all pagan gods, and from everything else because of His perfection. This name works like a double-edged sword: it reminds us that God is perfectly holy in every way, and it reminds us that we are not. The distinction of being the Holy One belongs to Him alone. This name exalts God above all others in His holiness.

God – I love you more and more everyday! ❤️
God is Holy & set apart b/c of His perfect holiness & righteousness. Since we are created in His image, why do we act so surprised that God calls us to be set apart from the world? Why does that seem like a bad idea to us? This is reminding me to embrace my “set-apart-ness”, to unequivocally follow Jesus, and live my life out loud for Him!!
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and is and is to come! Amem! I am glad that through Jesus we have full access.

There is no comparison. No one can do what God does. I can place my full assurance in him because he is set apart. He is THE holy one. He does miraculous things and is my shield. The one who wrote this verse is showing me the reason why I can call the Lord my shield and never for even a second doubt that.
I sit in awe and reverence at your holiness; I am unworthy of your presence, yet You have made a way. Help to me strive daily to love set apart for You and seek to be holy in Your sight.
Lord, there is no darkness in you. You are in complete opposition to sin. You turn your face from it. Lord, help us to live holy lives, set apart for you in everything we say and do so that our actions are pleasing in your sight. Thank you for your steadfast faithfulness and love for us.

Holy. This is what makes me fear the Lord. He is holy. Perfect. Righteous. Untouchable. Completely opposite of me. Like someone said though, we have a relationship with him?! Wow!
