weekly truth

Open Your Bible

Psalm 139:5

Happy Sunday to you, friends.

We long to be a community who not only reads and studies God’s Word, but who writes it on our hearts so we can lean on it throughout our day, speak truth to ourselves and others, call it to mind and have hope.

Today as we celebrate the influential women in our lives, let’s also honor the One who created us and them – the One who hems us in and holds us close – by memorizing this short passage of scripture together.

You hem me in, behind and before…
Psalm 139:5a, ESV

Jot it down a few times in your journal, tape it by the kitchen window or on your desk at work, save one of the images below as the lock screen on your phone – do whatever works best for you to allow this truth to sink into your heart and mind as you walk forward in this new week.

We’ll see you here tomorrow for the start of our next reading plan – Nehemiah!

Thank you, that verse is beautiful!

I don’t know if this is intentional or not, but AnnaLee mentioned the awesome website http://www.theverseproject.com (which is music and artwork for Bible verses), and this verse was last week’s song too! It is actually really catchy and you ladies should check it out to help you memorize the verse above.

The picture of being hemmed in by God is very beautiful. I’d have to do some searching, but wasn’t there some significance with the hem on the garmets of the priests in the OT?

Wow. This is so relevant, it's not even funny… Lord, I pray I'd let myself fall into your hands, your hemming hands, and stop looking towards molds (even the "Christian girl" mold) to form me. YOU make me. Help me to not be afraid, to be strong.

Praise the Lord for my precious mama, my wonderful family! The Lord picked her to be my mother, of all the women in this entire world– that blows my mind. Be blessed sisters! Lots of love. xo

Thank you so, so much Tina. xo

Happy Mother's Day to the SRT team and everyone else who is reading this. Now, let's get to church and help my little ones to make cards and goodies for their momma's. Lots of love!

Thank you, Lord, for hemming me in and holding me close every day but most especially, this day. Thank you for creating my mom and creating me to be her daughter. Thank you that she continues to live with you and also in my heart. I know that when “my anxiety is great within me, your consolation gives me joy.” Psalm 94:19. I will choose joy today, for all that I have been given and all that you are preparing me for. I pray that I will go where you lead me. In Jesus’ holy name, my strength and my redeemer, amen.

    1. tina says:
