Day 27

Grace Day

from the Lent 2017: You Are Mine reading plan

Hebrews 12:28-29

BY She Reads Truth

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us hold on to grace. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

I’m in a similar situation and it has been difficult so I can relate. I’ll be praying for you, don’t give up and lean on Him.

Jess, I had a very trying student teaching experience as well, although not for the same reason as you. My master teacher was actually amazing – so amazing, in fact, that I felt so much pressure (from myself mostly) to fill her shoes. Throw in several bouts of strep throat and other ailments, and I was literally trying to survive each day, wondering if this was what I was meant to do. Four years later, I feel like I’m starting to find my way as a teacher, but I’m still learning every day. I struggle with self-sufficiency and I know God is working on that in me. I’m starting to think that the reason this career has always been so challenging for me is to remind me that His grace is sufficient for me and His power is made perfect in weakness (1 Corinthians 12:9). Don’t be discouraged. God has a purpose for you as a teacher and He is able to use every challenge and trial for our good. I will be praying for you, Jess! Remember, God’s got you!

I agree! We can’t do it all as a teacher, but we can turn to the One who can! He knows the needs of the little hearts and minds we shepherd, and He can do so much through us – we just need to be willing and available!
