This week has been incredible in this book of Daniel. Such conviction for me around steadfast, unwavering faith and truly honoring God – our one and only God, not other things that compete with that. Have a beautiful weekend everyone!

    There is no other God!

I could use some prayer for today. It’s silly really. I was invited to go wedding shopping with Tom’s sons fiance’. I will be with all non-believers. There will be 8 of us having dinner. I picture myself at this table whispering to God, “do you see me down here?” “Help me. Help me to be an example of Your love”!

    1. Cee Gee says:

God goes before you, Traci; do not be afraid
Psalm 16 (all of it really!)
      7 I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
      My body rests in safety.

Not silly at all, and how nice to be asked to join in such a special day. Seeing this late, but praying all went well

And “EVERYTHING” in between as Kelly (NEO) writes the Message version below. Love this!

Happy Saturday sweet She’s. Heading out of town (not far) by myself to a favorite coffee shop to read and just hang out by myself for a couple hours. Just need some time “alone” But not really alone as My JESUS goes with me. Reading “Dust to Dust” by Jen Wilkin (a guest on SRT podcast) and “Everybody Always” Bob Goff. Slowly chipping away at these books. I’m a slow reader.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Thanks for the book titles. I definitely plan to do Dust To Dust when I have a break in studies. Enjoy your personal time with Jesus! ❤

    GM She’s!
I forgot about the song “Walk Through Fire” by Ben Fuller.

    I was worn down
    I was snuffed out
    Nowhere left to go
    Heart heavy, soul weary
My world a cloud of smoke
    Turns out
You were waiting in the ashes
    And now I can say
    Every flame forged my faith
The inferno might have burned me
But it set my hope ablaze
    Every coal refined my soul
It only made my darkest days a whole lot brighter
Thank God I had to walk through fire (walk through)
You were faithful, more than able
    You never lost control
You were speaking, You were reaching
In the heat of it all
Turns out it was there that I was changed
    Every flame forged my faith
The inferno might have burned me
But it set my hope ablaze
    Every coal refined my soul
It only made my darkest days a whole lot brighter
Thank God I had to walk through fire
    (Walk through fire)
Thank God I had to walk through fire, oh
    (Walk through fire)
‘Cause You said You’d never leave me
And You said You won’t forsake me
Whatever comes, I will not be afraid (be afraid)
    You’ve already gone before me
    You’ve already gone behind
In the end, I know I’ll look back and I’ll say
    Every flame forged my faith
The inferno might have burned me
But it set my hope ablaze
    Every coal refined my soul
It only made my darkest days a whole lot brighter
Thank God I had to walk through fire (walk through)
    (Walk through fire)
Thank God I had to walk through fire
    (Walk through fire)
Thank God I had to walk through fire

When we can SEE the Fire and KNOW God is for us and helping us get through every situation, every circumstance, oh how it lights us up to be able to RECEIVE it. Not after (which is still great), but if we can know THROUGH it in faith and trusting, how much easier it will be!
The testing refines us. So as seasoned Christ-followers, we can know something is being done and being used. It helps carry us through and I would declare that it shows a testimony to others even more when you can testify that we don’t know the why but we know WHOM we can trust during…our eyes are trusting the Lord! That is a powerful declaration. People say…how can they stay so together in such a hard time? God! I walk with God! That’s what we want them to see and “get!” Afterall- that is what the chosen nation of Israel was for. To show how their God is THE God! That they were set apart, as we as the chosen now are set apart to show the world- our neighbors, our family, our friends that we walk different, talk different, act different. Let our fires show the refinement and trust in real time! It is powerful!
He is the Alpha Omega, the first and the Last, beginning and the end. omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. All-knowing, All-present, and All-powerful. Why wouldn’t we want to follow, trust, obey, serve, talk to all the days of our life?! I do! Lord, keep my eyes, heart, soul, and mind on you. Don’t let the woes of this life overcome me. Don’t let me drown. Don’t let me burn. Refine me but keep my faith and hope aflame. When everything looks daunting let me keep my blessings in focus and be grateful. You are for me not against me. Let me run my race well. For it will be tiring and hard, but you help me, you will uphold me with your righteous right hand. Thank you Lord Jesus!

Ben Fuller has an interesting story. I saw him at Red Rocks.

      1. Rhonda J says:

Yes I LOVE his story and his voice and music!! I have on repeat when Ben Fuller joined Zack Williams for the song “Wait” or Wait For Me!” The performance is SO good and sounds amazing in Red Rocks!? Is that the show you were at?

And prayers for you to hang with all of them. Honestly I don’t like when I’m with all non-beleievers because of the language and focus of all the talk kinda drives me insane, yet God CAN use us to be a gentle presence among them..(hopefully!)

  16. Gwineth52 says:

I come away this week with the phrase “grace under fire” on my mind. Metaphorically & literally.
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego were captive & endangered exiles who stood up against a violent & mercurial king with preternatural poise & heavenly power. Daniel under threat of execution showing choice & courage in interpreting the King’s dream. His three friends faced with the reality of death in a blazing furnace exhibiting composure & control. They all passed through fire, and were refined like gold, by faith.
Somewhere else I came across an admonition which lingers, “When you have been through the fire & by the grace of God survived, what is there which can threaten or destroy you”.
I believe we all have felt the fires of misfortune or malady. I believe we all have felt the hot breath of pain or loss. I believe we all have experienced heated discussions and hot-headed situations. But made it to the other side yet strengthened & renewed. Possible by a source beyond ourselves.
As Paul writes in his first letter to the Corinthians, “If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire”. (3:15)
Have a wonderful weekend, dear Shes, be fearless, be fruitful, be faithful.

    1. Karen Swanson says:

      Romans 8:31
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  17. Kelly (NEO) says:

    The Message reads
“God, King of Israel, your Redeemer, God-of-the-Angel-Armies, says:
‘I’m first, I’m last, and everything in between.
I’m the only God there is.’”
    .
Yes, Lord, You are EVERYTHING in between! Help me to remember that when life make no sense and this world seems so chaotic.
    .
May your heartsbe filled with God’s whispers of grace today.
