Take each Saturday to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord with passages from Scripture that we traditionally read during the Lenten season.
For God was pleased to have
all his fullness dwell in him,
and through him to reconcile
everything to himself,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
by making peace
through his blood, shed on the cross.
—Colossians 1:19–20

Colossians 1 NLT
28 So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.
29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

Prayers please for my mom’s safe passage to heaven. She has been at the hospice house since Wednesday night. Mother to nine and such a care giver, riddled with arthritis, she is now peacefully resting in his care until the appointed time❤️We shared scripture daily in the last 6 months of her being in her home, she knows she has an eternal home after calling this place her temporary home for 94 years❤️. I am thankful and grateful for His care!
Praying for your mom as she enters Heaven’s eternal shore. Prayers also for you and your family, goodbyes are never easy even when they are expected. ❤️
Just prayed for a peaceful homecoming for your Mom, Carol.
praying, Carol, for a peaceful passing into God’s arms and for comfort for the family as they say goodbye.
Prayers for you as you say goodbye to someone so special and touched so many!
Just prayed
CAROL, praying along with our sister SHES for a peaceful transition for your precious mom and for you and your loved ones as you let her go. What a special memory you had over the last 6 months. May many memories comfort you in the days ahead and may you feel a peace that you know is from our Father. ❤
May peace surround your Mom in these tender moments on the edges of heaven and God’s presence and comfort be near for you and your family.❤️
Praying ❤️
Carol, your mom sounds like a very special person. May she rest peacefully until God takes her home. Praying for you and all the family. ❤️

What can I add but say Amen! He gives what I don’t deserve and first give what I do deserve! That is my God! A good Father!
Praying for all! Have a blessed weekend!
As I’ve read this passage over and over this morning, the very opposite words/phrase of pleased, peace and shed blood really stand out because in our human mindset they don’t make sense together. There should be nothing pleasing or peaceful about shed blood and yet this is our gracious, mighty Father. We can’t save ourselves. We can’t be good enough, nice enough, say the right things or esrn our way to salvation. Only He, because of His great and mighty love, mercy, sacrifice and death on the cross can we step into accept the life of freedom, redemption, forgiveness and saving grace He brings. Its humbling and overwhelming. There is nothing we did to deserve what is freely given to us. What a Savior we serve.
The song by City Alight/The Getty’s comes to mind…Yet Not I but Christ in Me.
Appreciate so much this community and the ways you share insights, thoughts and responses and challenge me. Praying for your requests. Have a blessed day❤️

I agree with Rhonda – these verses in Colossians, really 15 – 21 are just so overwhelming you need to sit in them for a bit. The fact that the God of the universe – through whom all things are made and held together – was willing to die on a cross for my sin is just astounding.
What can we say but thank You and Praise the Lord!
That’s what I love about scripture, simple and complex, together- is so fabulous! We can never understand it all, but we can all understand the least! Jesus. Only Jesus..for ME. And you Sally B! And ANYONE who calls on his name on his lips, in his heart!
Praise the Lord! ❤️
Good Morning! Happy Saturday!
Happy Spring Break Mari V and others if it’s your week!
This is such powerful snippet of scripture that could actually put the whole of the Bible all in perspective and summation. Jesus paid it all, to bring restoration back to all God’s creation!! Because of that, it all can make sense. We are all lost, done for, all for naught..THEN..NOW..graves turn to gardens, valleys turn to mountains, tests become testimonies, pain can be purposeful!! RESTORATION for anyone who believes.
We all want that, for life to matter! We want things to make sense…and with this one statement it does! It’s a great meditation scripture.
I am so thankful and grateful that God keeps revealing more and more to those that want to know Him. I can’t contain the joy that he brings to my life just through relationship with Him! I may not be turning cartwheels or jumping in constant happiness, but my heart and mind “gets it” and is thrilled daily with the reckoning of the day coming when all will be right. As a believer we have it now, we just walk in trust and faith daily, knowing that he is a good and trustworthy God, stay steadfast, and be excited to step out in faith.
Amen!

MERCY ❤️ thank you for the song, sister. I don’t think I know it – will listen today. I loved that THE SONG speaks to you. I don’t listen to a lot of music but there are a few songs that speak to me – not often heard, but powerful when they are. “He is good, and is always working even when we don’t notice.”
.
MIA FAITH ❤️ Love you, and joining with Mercy and our other sisters in prayer for you and your family in the coming weeks.
.
JANE K – thank you for mentioning the Keith Green song, I will listen and see if it’s familiar. Maybe not as from looking at publication dates, the time frame of his music was during a much too long period of rebellion in my life.

CEE GEE, CHERYL BLOW – will try to listen to these songs today ❤️

Colossians 1:19-20 Good News Bible
“For it was by God’s own decision that the Son has in himself the full nature of God. Through the Son, then, God decided to bring the whole universe back to himself. God made peace through his Son’s bloodc on the cross and so brought back to himself all things, both on earth and in heaven.”
.
Peace through the violence of the cross only makes sense in God’s economy.
.
Thankful that God’s plan for restoring humanity to Himself included me! AND YOU! :-)
