Take each Saturday to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord with passages from Scripture that we traditionally read during the Lenten season.
“This is my servant; I strengthen him,
this is my chosen one; I delight in him.
I have put my Spirit on him;
he will bring justice to the nations.
He will not cry out or shout
or make his voice heard in the streets.
He will not break a bruised reed,
and he will not put out a smoldering wick;
he will faithfully bring justice.
He will not grow weak or be discouraged
until he has established justice on earth.
The coasts and islands will wait for his instruction.”
—Isaiah 42:1–4

Psalm 46:5 has really stuck with me this week. It feels really personal to me. Things are feeling so uncertain and scary, and I’m really holding onto the promise that God is with me and that He will sustain me through whatever comes
❤️
❤
Most of these words could have been said of the Rev Jessy Jackson. He for sure run his race and well, to the glory of God. May he rest in peace..

This is know is a foretelling of the One who will come and save humanity..
I love that it is not word for word the words on the day of Jesus’s baptism by John the Baptist.. but so close..
This is my servant..
this is my chosen one, with whom I am well pleased..
I have put my spirit on Him..
When words such as these are repeated in various parts of the Bible, there is a ‘take heed’ urgency about them, they are not to be read and discarded, they are to be regarded!
.
.These are not coincidences, these are the real deal.. a promise of deliverance by One chosen by Father God Himself, who comes silently, no fanfare, yet He will bring justice to the nations, one whonwill not grow weak by our doings, or discouraged by the weight of our combined sins, but He leaves us not, until He has established justice here on earth..

Thankful, for the gift of Jesus and what He truly represents here in our life..

BUT GOD..

Praise God, the WORD IS ALIVE!
Love, hugs, and prayers! Have a blessed Saturday, sisters! ❤
HOW have I never heard that song??! And I have loved Casting Crowns since I found Christian music in 2002! That live version is so good with the painting of the WORD!
…he will faithfully bring justice. Thank you JESUS! Sweet Martha and Lynne I am so sorry for your losses. Martha, I join our SRT sisters in praying for your brother and adult children. Lynne, sounds like a friend is finally completely healed and in the arms of JESUS! Love you all SO much! I could not do life without all of you in my life.
Thank you Mari! Love you too!❤️
If you don’t have the book, the week 3 response is to use Psalm 46 to respond in prayer to the Lord with this Psalm. It is so timely with the war going on, so i encourage you all to do that today. The verses are so comforting in this time of unrest.
Praying for you, Martha and Lynne in your losses and grief.
Thank you DW for your thoughtfulness and prayers.❤️
…”He will faithfully bring justice.”

And isn’t this what we wait and long for. Justice to be done. There are so many atrocities in this world, things that are far beyond what I could ever imagine. Yet, God sees them all. His ears are open to those who cry out to Him, and one day – justice will be done!
.
I praise God that He is merciful, fair and just, a righteous God who’s way is perfect.

Happy Saturday my dear She’s!
Thank you Sharon for your prayers. I appreciate your wisdom. I will be praying for your nephew Zab. ❤️
Love that sign!
Great song shares yesterday- led me to my share this morning as I watched/listened. ❤
Oops,, that was intended for Searching! ☺
Oh my….a deployment right now would be a great worry. Praying❤️
Prayers!
My daughter was dating a young Marine last spring who I was so terribly fond of. He was to be deployed to Iraq this past January. They broke up over the summer, but I can’t help thinking about him—so very young to be put in harm’s way for the egos of senseless old men. Why must the young pay the price for the ambitions of the old? My heart is just gutted, and I don’t even have children serving (just one who is disabled who has always wanted nothing but to serve in the military—and that is a whole different kind of heartbreak.) I don’t even know how to pray. I am thankful for the Holy Spirit, who takes our groanings before our Father and interprets them when we have no words.
Sign on a country church I saw yesterday – A bit of a twist, and oh, so true ❤️

“Jesus knows me,
This I love. “

MARTHA HIX – safe travels, sister
I love that!…might even use it on our own church sign. ⚡⚡
My mom left behind a few notebooks of different thoughts for their church sign! She was pretty clever!

How sweet it is!
Great song shares yesterday!
Love the church sign! ❤
Good morning, sweet sisters! I just wanted to let you know that my precious friend Gina went home to be with the Lord last evening. She was a true warrior in her cancer battle and she is now home with her Lord and Savior. Please pray for her family and all her friends as we mourn her loss.
I am so sorry for your loss. You will see her again but grief is hard (as you already know). Prayers.
I’m so sorry for your loss Lynne.
Love and hugs to you, sister, as you grieve the loss of Gina while rejoicing that she’s with Jesus. Losing a good friend is such a painful loss, though they live on in our countless memories.
Oh sweet Lynne….praying.
So sorry for your loss, prayers for Gina’s family. ❤️
He will wipe away every tear. Praying for you Lynne and so sorry for the loss of your dear friend.
So sorry for your loss. Praying for you and her family!
Lynne, I am so sorry for your loss. May the Lord bring great comfort in this derp sorrow. Praise the Lord for the hope of heaven❤️
The foreshadowing in Isaiah of what is to come is so hopeful. Thanks be to God for the truth and fulfillment of His Word.
Blessings SRT sisters. It is of great encouragement to learn here together.
Wendy, I have been thinking of and praying for your pastor since you mentioned him. I pray that things have settled down in your church and that he will not step down but stand his ground.
Hi Sharon….I think you may have me mixed up with someone else? Praise the Lord, our pastoral staff are not facing opposition in that regard right now.
Amen! Thank you for this reading plan. I’ve learned so much already.
GM She’s!
Another week gone by. Feb gone, quickly into March, and soon Easter. I love that through SRT we spend weeks in preparation for Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross. Before that, for me, it was more of a mere wkd event, or maybe a week of thinking of Jesus that last week before his Crucifixion. Now, it is much more impactful with these focused studies. Psalms “covers themes of praise, lament, faith, and the Messiah, providing a raw, emotional, and comprehensive guide to worshiping God in all circumstances” (Google).
This is our lives. The seasons of ups and downs, an array of emotions throughout, and of course youth to …gray hair and wrinkles! Sometimes we want the awful, slow seasons to end then when we are down the road we wonder where the time has gone. But with our faith, sometimes we are so close to God we are amazed and humbled together, but other times he feels far away. That’s why the Psalms are so powerful for us still today.
They have comforted and made people feel seen throughout the centuries! The living, breathing, moving words of scripture! They touch us in ways nothing else could. For they let us know that people have had hard times, always, right alongside joy in the Lord. Hope. Comfort. Faith.
There is hope, comfort, and faith not only in our own tribulations- knowing Jesus heals, restores, transforms…! But that He also was predicted and comes for this backwards, upside down, awful world that has wars, evil, and natural disasters! Thank goodness a new world awaits us! That we know there is better. There is a place we are going with no more pain and awfulness! No more physical suffering or tears! Oh doesn’t that make my heart start to seek that tune. My heart seeks the songs of joy, praise, shouting and clapping and dancing!! We have a great promise that is within our reach!
We have to walk this trail in life, it isn’t easy, but it strengthened us along the way. And as we look at all the paths in front of us, which to take, let us keep our lamp at our feet. Trusting step by step, and letting God lead us forward. Letting him protect us on all sides, going before us, and behind us. Picking us up when we stumble, carrying us when we can’t walk. Talking quietly with us, to encourage and strengthen us, comforts us. The sunny days and the cloudy, rainy ones, even the hold-on-to your hats, take refuge storms. He is with us along the journey. Thank you God! Thank you for your real love and protection, and the Living Holy Spirit that is inside of us! Keep our eyes on you. Give us Faith. Give us ALL of YOU! Amen!
❤️
You sound so full of energy this morning Rhonda – God bless you! ❤️
…Praying for your butterflies -any updates on Tosha? I know she had her court appearance this week.
She did write..she is in it for the long haul. The trial against her will go forward, and so her next court appearance won’t be till July (7th I believe), and then the trial will be sometime after that. She said she will armor up, to be strong, and do as the Lord wills, trusting him with her faith. But she is tired and weary, and needs our prayers.
Amen! ❤
So thankful that Isaiah gives this picture of the Messiah’s mission. Jesus will bring justice to this broken world. May we be His hands and feet working with Him in this mission.
.
Praying your day is full of grace.
.
MARTHA HIX – safe travels. Praying the Lord brings His comfort as you gather with your family. So sorry for your loss.
Thank you so much for your prayers Kelly. ❤️
Amen and amen, Kelly! ❤
