You are all beautiful sisters in Christ and it’s a joy to read through these comments every day. My husband and I could really use prayer. We are very young and only 5 months married and I am now facing a rheumatology related health issue which has been extremely painful and immobilizing. We are just confused and weary ❤️

Happy Saturday She’s. I love the beginning
    verses of 1 Cor
“I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge— 6 even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— 7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor 1:4-9
Paul speaks with such love and great encouragement to seek the Lord, to hold fast to Him, that we are blameless before Christ, called to be His and the reminder that God is faithful.
These words were for the believers then, and for us now. May we take then to heart and live them out. ❤️

Thank you for the continued prayer for my inlaws. They are improving, very, very slowly. MIL is finally out of hospital after a big setback, FIL still in hospital with some uncertainty as to what is ahead for him. It has been so many ups and downs but this week we’ve actually had now 48 hours with no crisis, urgent appointments, panic run to a bedside etc. After a month of crazy its been a welcome reprieve. Appreciate your continued prayers. Thank you ❤️

The phrase that stood out to me today was “the day of our Lord Jesus Christ”, so I went to Got Questions and it was very helpful. I’ll share just a small portion of it, check out the site if you’re interested in learning more.
    .
“What Is The Day Of Christ?”…
“The day of Christ marks the time when our sanctification will be complete. At long last, we will enjoy sinless perfection and dwell in resurrected, immortal, glorified bodies.
-The day of Christ points to the time when our struggles end and victory over sin and death is no longer a promise, but a glorious reality. We believe the day of Christ begins at the rapture of the church and continues through the millennial reign. The day of Christ is a time of lavish promises fulfilled and decisive victories achieved—a time when believers no longer walk by faith but by sight, for our enemies will be our Lord’s footstool (Psalm 110:1).
-The day of the Lord is a time of worldwide judgment; the day of Christ has to do with believers meeting Christ and receiving their heavenly inheritance. Thankfully, God’s people will not face the unleashing of God’s righteous fury when the day of the Lord comes (I Thessalonians 5:9). The day of the Lord is reserved for unrepentant sinners who refuse God’s mercy. The haughty and proud rebels who snub His mercy must face His judgment. By contrast, the day of Christ is a time of hope and promise and, indeed, a day of celebration.”

To be found blameless is so hard to imagine – only by the grace of God is it possibly.
    .
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

    Happy Saturday She’s! ❤️

Thank you, Sharon, for sharing that! It’s one thing to recognize what the phrase is alluding to; it’s a whole other thing to see it spelled out so richly! ❤

      1. Rhonda J. says:

        Yes, indeed, that is rich!

    2. Tina says:

Sharon, Right? To be found blameless…incomprehensible and yet..
      BUT GOD..
Much love to you and Jeff, covered in continued prsyers for His Spirit to move in your Church as He has done in the book of Acts..

So grateful for the love of God!

  11. Mollie says:

I as may others think my words will not be eloquent or wise enough to speak to someone about Christ, so I withhold …
read this verse this morning “1 Corinthians 1:17
For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and NOT WITH WORDS OF ELOQUENT WISDOM, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.”

That verse just hit me right on top of the head *bang!*

    1. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Yes, praise God they don’t have to be eloquent! Just true and from the heart. ❤️

    2. Rhonda J. says:

Yep, Me too!! For I always say…I AM NOT eloquent, can’t say my thoughts, I feel like Moses—Then- just today one of my girls said how proud she is of ME of how I was so nervous that first group 3 or so years ago and now I flourish! (that made me feel good) BECAUSE it’s stepping out in faith, and keep going knowing it’s GOD not me!! I just need to say YES! That whole part was good!

    3. Cheryl Blow says:

      Amen

I didn’t see everyone’s comments before I commented! Such great comments! Love reading everyone’s!

  14. Cheryl Blow says:

Tina, like you I had to read it all to get the full meaning! I love that if we have the message firmly planted in us, he will keep us firm til the end! He is faithful!

    Praying for all!

  15. Rhonda J. says:

    GM!
I had to keep reading Paul’s great letter to the church of Corinthians. Not just his love for them, but also his deep desire for them to “do it right” and keep on the path of “the way!” To be filled with the Spirit and of Jesus Christ, not just the HIS words and teachings, but God’s wisdom getting in them and growing through the Spirit. Think of your children, you tell them “lessons” that you want them to learn, not just hear the words coming out of your mouth in the moment. We want to teach our children but for them to develop good morals and values for themselves through what we told them. Wash your hands. We want them to remember the why, not just to do it because mom said so. Eat your vegetables…why, to nourish our body. This is what Paul is telling his beloved starter church…did you learn what I was saying thoroughly, or no.
Do we try to just know the words of scripture or do they sink in and carry wisdom with them so we live them, love them like honey to our lips, and water to our soul? 1 Corinthians 4:20 “For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk, it is living by God’s power!” whooo! We aren’t to just talk about scripture and the popular ones we know, we are to absorb it, let it’s nutrients feed all of our cells to make us strong to do what we need to do!
Do I listen to what God is telling me and leading me to do full in his Spirit. Or as I see fit and is comfortable for me? Or will I walk by the wisdom I have learned through his word, teachings, and the Spirit?! Hearing God, saying Yes, and following it exactly. (not how, when, and why I decide too) No, the closer your walk gets to God, the more Holy we become- the harder. He keeps cutting the vine, pruning to make it flourish. But we don’t like that. He sharpens us, pounds us down like gold. He gives us a new wine skin. Following God is pretty easy, but… FOLLOWING God is not pretty easy. It gets mucky..for Paul tells his church “To this very hour (on his journey to spread the word of God to all the nations!) we go hungry and thirsty, without enough clothes to keep us warm. We have endured many beatings, and we have no homes of our own. We have worked wearily with our own hands to earn our living. We bless those who curse us. We are patient with those that abuse us. We respond gently when evil things are said about us. Yet we are treated as the world’s garbage, like everybody’s trash-right up to the present moment.” 1 Corinthians 4:12-13
We are suffering…BUT for the sake of Christ. It is not easy church…!!!! Get this church, US get this. I, Paul, want to get through to you to be strong, united, and faithful and walk and grow in the Spirit, only by Jesus and the cross. That is where it is. Get to the next level church. Individually and united together. We need each other sisters to grow and encourage each other. To be bold and courageous together, and yes, even to sharpen each other. Sharpen is friction in wanted but needed. That is why we meet here together all these years!! What a blessing. But to many Christians have been in a lovely, feel good devotional book. A scripture and then flowing words to encourage your day. But it’s more than that to follow Christ. It is a hard journey, but will be blessed by Christ. We must have some suffering in our story for it to challenge someone else. Some Wow moments, some broken roads, some shame, and some unforgiveness that festered and grew hurting us. We need these to show what Christ can do in the hard! We see His sufferings and our sufferings to redeem, restore, redeem, and renew!! Thank you Lord for that!!! For my story- for your Glory!!

A good challenging encouragement this morning Rhonda! Thank you!

    New Living Translation:
“He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.”
    .
Blameless, guiltless (ESV), when Jesus comes. That is impossible without Jesus’ blood and the Spirit’s conviction and guidance.
    .
Thanks be to God that both are covering me!
    .
On a side note, watching the parade of nations during the opening ceremony of the Olympics yesterday brought to mind how one day, all nations, tribes, and tongues will be gathered in peace before the throne of God.
    .
May you all have a blessed day.

    1 Corinthians 1:4-9 GNT
[4] I always give thanks to my God for you because of the grace he has given you through Christ Jesus. [5] For in union with Christ you have become rich in all things, including all speech and all knowledge. [6] The message about Christ has become so firmly established in you [7] that you have not failed to receive a single blessing, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. [8] He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be faultless on the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] God is to be trusted, the God who called you to have fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ, our Lord.
    .
I had to read the above verses, am
and the verse after, to get the gist of this verse..
    .
So my thinking is that WHEN we are in union, walking with, or following Jesus, we are blessed in all we do say and are.
Knowing and understanding Christ with your whole being, has made us rich beyond measure, not a monetary rich, but a richness within.. one that can only be from God to grow you even more.
In knowing and accepting, God strengthens and holds us firm in that knowledge so that we are faultless on the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ..
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
    AMEN.

    Happy Saturday my people..
