Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.
For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. And his commands are not a burden, because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

The song this study has brought to mind is By Faith by the Getty’s
By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation’s grand design
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness
Who walk by faith and not by sight
By faith our fathers roamed the earth
With the power of His promise in their hearts
Of a holy city built by God’s own hand
A place where peace and justice reign
We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul’s reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight
By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed-for Messiah would appear
With the power to break the chains of sin and death
And rise triumphant from the grave
By faith the church was called to go
In the power of the Spirit to the lost
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In every corner of the earth
We will stand…
By faith this mountain shall be moved
And the power of the gospel shall prevail
For we know in Christ all things are possible
For all who call upon His name
We will stand…
Amen love you guys ❤️
“And His commands are not burdensome” is how the NIV reads. LOVE it as it reminds me when Jesus calls us to Him. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and “my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30. I come to Him with and for everything! I’m not afraid to ask my daddy. It rained last night and there’s light rain this morning. Running with my sweet friend later. As I look outside my window, I see beauty. Its a gorgeous morning with the sun slightly up. Thank you Father God! With the rain, I admit I have some concerns regarding my car. The sunroof is not working properly therefore, I keep it closed. I’m a little sad about that as I spent most of the summer with it closed, but now that the rain is coming I’m a little concerned to make sure it stays closed properly so no water gets in (just like when I go to the car wash). As silly as it sounds, please pray I can find an honest person to fix this as the mechanic yesterday told me, its VERY expensive to fix. I’m hoping to find some else to fix it and a locksmith to fix my car door keyhole, ( I mentioned this before) Its all so expensive!!! All this to say, the mechanic referred me to someone next door who specializes in Honda’s, but when I went to talk to them, the man in the front office was not friendly and I felt dumb, especially when I was quoted and outrages amount just to look at it! I wondered if I had been dressed nicely and makeup (was in workout clothes no makeup and messy hair) would I have gotten a different response. I’m coming to my Jesus as I know that if this is important to me, its important to Him. I know its nothing compared to the burdens of others especially when it comes to our loved ones, BUT GOD….my sweet Jesus doesn’t look at me that way. I’m also trying to save for the summer and that’s even more important, again, trusting my Jehovah Jireh to provide. Happy Saturday sweeties!
Have a great Saturday ladies! What a blessing this study has been! Your comments bring me such a deeper understanding of the scripture, and it is a honor to share your burdens and joys in prayer!
Yes! I’ve been like so many of you! So many good comments! Rhonda, your summation of this week! It’s our faith in God that keeps us grounded in the Word, giving us discernment in the world we live.
Praying for all! Praying that we will be light in this dark world. Being the hands and feet of Jesus to all that we encounter! Seeing them as divine appointments from God. Just loving on people.
This verse immediately brings to mind the hymn, “Faith is the Victory. What great encouragement this verse is. What a gift it is because of Jesus, we can have a peace, a strength, a hope that He is who He says He is, and trust that He is faithful in all things, in all ways. Victory and conquer are such powerful words and praise the Lord, He is the victorious conquerer, our shining shield, and the One who provides and makes the way for us when we walk in faith.
I have appreciated and been really blessed by all that has been shared. I have been a part of SRT for years – almost since the very beginning and the level of active commenting and engagement has increased so much and is just so valuable. Let’s continue learning together, praying for one another, spurring one another on, edifying the body of Christ and the greater Church.
Praying for this group and the requests brought forth….blessings to you all this weekend.❤️
“…EVERYONE who has been BORN OF GOD CONQUERS the world. This is the VICTORY that has conquered the world:
OUR FAITH….” (caps mine)

SHARON, JERSEY GIRL already shared a portion of the lyrics from this great old hymn, BUT I had copied and pasted them to share as soon as I read the verse! Lol ❤❤❤ So here they are:
Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers, rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.
Refrain:
Faith is the victory!
Faith is the victory!
Oh, glorious victory,
That overcomes the world.
His banner over us is love,
Our sword the Word of God;
We tread the road the saints above
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath,
Swept on o’er every field;
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield.
On every hand the foe we find
Drawn up in dread array;
Let tents of ease be left behind,
And onward to the fray.
Salvation’s helmet on each head,
With truth all girt about,
The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread,
And echo with our shout.
To him that overcomes the foe,
White raiment shall be giv’n;
Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in heav’n.
Then onward from the hills of light,
Our hearts with love aflame,
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,
In Jesus’ conqu’ring name.
❤️
I looked up the Amplified version of 1 John 5:4 because it struck me so deeply this morning that THE VICTORY IS OUR FAITH. It makes the persistent, continuing, long-suffering faith of those we have been studying resonate even more deeply. Holy Spirit, keep me grounded in that victorious faith!
Amen! Every lesson ( except the 1st three and the weekend reads) has been titled BY FAITH! That has started to sink in! :). ❤
Good morning She’s – Happy Saturday!
Faith IS the victory that overcomes the world – Amen!!

As we approach election day it troubles me that among Christian circles there is anxiety and fear. I’ve listened to conversations. All the “What if’s”.
How can we be anxious, how can we fear? We have Jesus, we have faith. I don’t say this flippantly when I say, “It doesn’t matter who is in office” – how can I say that? Because God is on the throne! He is in control. No matter who wins, “The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord, like rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1
God will accomplish His will through whomever He chooses. Our latest example is from this study – Pharaoh. He was not for God, he was not for God’s people, but God used him to fulfill His will – to release His people from bondage.

If you know a sister or brother in the Lord that is very fearful concerning the outcome, here are a few verses to share as a reminder…
Isaiah 55:8-9 ~ God’s ways or not our ways, nor His thoughts ours.
Psalm 135:6 ~ God does what He pleases.
Psalm 93:1-2 ~ Our God reigns.
Philippians 4:6-7 ~ Be anxious for nothing.

This hymn immediately came to mind as I read 1 John 5:4…
Faith Is The Victory
Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies;
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.

Happy Saturday Sisters – have a
wonderful day, and keep looking up!
continued prayers for all your requests.❤️❤️
I agree! Thanks for putting it so succinctly!
❤️
SHARON, sister our minds went to the same song this morning. I always think of it when I read that verse! So, I went ahead and shared them, too! Thanks so much for the encouragement you took the time to share! I agree wholeheartedly with you and I do pray, too, that those who are truly born of God will let their vote for Him (our God) be heard! He doesn’t need our help, but we need to unite to protect our freedom to worship and share the Gospel. Doing the Revelation study currently has given me so much peace! Love you! ❤
❤️
Ladies I have been so blessed by all of your comments this week! I have been behind and just catching up now because I just can’t read and skip your comments. Wow over 100 almost daily!!! I’ve been struggling and feeling blah… my brother is not doing well, having a hard time eating and is dehydrated so now on top on chemo, he has to go for hydration. We need a Red Sea miracle and while I believe that God can do it, I also know He may not. Im standing in the tension of holding onto hope and the reality of what is. I’m feeling the need to have tough conversations with my brother but just can’t seem to find the courage or the words. I really need Gods wisdom.
Tami I am so sorry to hear that your brother is not doing well. I will be praying for that “Red Sea”miracle – and that God give you the words and wisdom for that tough conversation. ❤️
Tami, So sorry to hear this. Praying for your heart and for wisdom and peace – adding my amen to Sharon’s prayer. Did you see the song I shared yesterday – Red Sea Road? Those lyrics may be encouraging for BJ. Love, hugs, and prayers!
Tami, I am so sorry. How do we pray for a miracle healing, yet also knowing it could be his/her time. I don’t know the answer. Maybe His will be done. Just love on your brother as much as you can with the Lord’s help and strength, lean into him in the whys and how’s. Know we are holding you up in prayers sister.
Amen
well good morning!! All week, when I get to the comments there are always more than 30, and by the time I read through them all, I have nothing more to say!!lol. But I have always loved Saturday comment day-! Thinking over the week of all we have learned. I have several studies going on currently, so I am a little muddle, except the song that plays right now says it all…everything I need to know in one phrase–“If I GOT Jesus” I’ve got everything I ever need. It’s hope living deep inside,a peace . Everything starts with Jesus…growing, living, changing, loving, sharing, faith.
I love reading all the testimonies this week of faith. The most powerful lesson to me was that the promises may not even be fulfilled with ME on this side of heaven. Although we believe and know it will be, it may not be in our time, but yet it is a legacy that is so important that we leave by telling our kids and grandkids. I want them to say (like I do myself)…”my mother always said!” I tell often that my mom said 30 years ago that the schools and TV were slowing changing our views away from God, and I came to see it myself finally about 15 years ago, and now I’m like…holy moly!! Our grandkids are living in an awful, un-Godly world. But “I” can still show them my faith in eternal Jesus. That He is the Same God- yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I will continue to keep my faith in a world that doesn’t, for the Bible tells us how it will be, so we need not fear, but we do need to be strong, stand on our beliefs, be vocal not quiet, and ARISE for such a time as this!!
Have a great wkd my She’s! Prayers always!
❤️❤️
Amen, Rhonda! I just replied similarly to Sharon’s comment. Now is not the time to give up or give in. By faith, ee must be the soldiers we are called to be- whatever that looks like for each of us. ❤
Yes amen!! Soldiers is exactly right!! God’s army let’s put on our warrior boots!
❤
Amen
From the FaithLife Study Bible: “Jesus discusses the burdensome nature of keeping the law of Moses. He points out that the Scribes and Pharisees place excessive burden on God’s people to the keep the law while hypocritically failing to keep the same laws (Matt 23:2–3). By contrast, Jesus promises that following Him and keeping His teachings brings rest rather than burden (Matt 11:28–30).”
.
May we be filled with God’s joy as we walk in His ways to bring Him the honor He is due.
Amen, KELLY! ❤️
Why do we voluntarily hang on to those burdens, or take them back after we’ve given them to God for handling?!
Love your ending prayer! Being filled with God’s joy is real joy.
❤️
Yes, so good, love the verse for today!
Trust and Obey, for there’s no other way! There is no bending on the word of God. It is truth, and we must stand on it!! It isn’t easy, but it is taking up our cross in loyalty and faith.
Amen!
Amen, Kelly! ❤ Hope your work week went well!
Amen!
What an awesome week we have had, studying God’s word, the strong faith of those who walked with Him many years ago and His faithful promises! Standing on those promises, as the song says.
