Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Psalm 32:6-7

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Each Saturday we are turning from the tragedy of Judges to the hope of the gospel in Psalm 32, a psalm about joy and forgiveness.

Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to you immediately.
When great floodwaters come,
they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance.    Selah
—Psalm 32:6–7

  1. Abigail Colon says:

“Therefore let anyone who is faithful pray to you immediately” psalms 32. Our first initial response to anything should be prayer. Prayer is a gift and it is powerful. Prayer is a way to connect and converse with the Father. He loves and He listens. It’s sad to say that I sometimes take prayer for granted by not diving in deep to prayer like I am offered to. But whenever I do there is gratitude for being able to do so.
Thank you Jesus for the gift of salvation that tore the viel. Thank you for allowing prayer to be something to connect with the Father in heaven and nothing can separate us from Him.

I’m not getting the daily readings is anybody else having issues.

  6. Teresa Donley says:

Im able to use the book to read. But it doesn’t include the devotion, nor, of course, the comments from each of you. Someone mentioned maybe it is due to turning the clock’s back. I think that’s a reasonable cause as well.

  7. Kaila Julia says:

I’ve been doing the readings on the website as they’re not posting in the app.

  8. Nancy S says:

Thank you for all your continued prayers! I have some praise updates! We have finished Harvest (on to field work, chisel plowing, fertilizing, etc.) and my pregnancy is continuing to progress safely! Praise the Lord! I appreciate all you wonderful ladies and your insightful comments through this challenging study! Blessing to you all today!

  23. Kimberly Z says:

Happy Saturday ladies! Agreed glad to see the psalms in the midst of this study. This is the FIRST Saturday is a long time where I am in town and don’t have ANY plans. I am so grateful for some down time. I’m starting to make makeup bags for Christmas gifts and I got an order of 10! Which means I’ve got about 20 bags to make. Praying I can get it all done if I start now. I truly love to sew so I am excited! @RHONDA J – good luck with your small group! You’ll do wonderful. @LYNN FROM ALABAMA – so glad you get to go to church this week. What a wonderful thing to get to look forward to.

  24. Mari V says:

From the NIV v7, “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” So grateful for all of you here as we lift one another up in prayer. My running/walking partner (and sweet friend) is not feeling well, emotionally, but we both know walking/running will help. She texted me earlier and asked if we could walk and “pray” at the same time. Please join me in praying for her. Happy Saturday sweet She’s. It’s a gorgeous Saturday and normally by now it’s freezing, but I’m glad it’s not. It’s going to be warmer than normal and supposed to get up to 80° but not complaining.

  25. Sarah Ritchie says:

Happy Grace Day She’s! I hope everyone gets some rest this weekend and may the Lord bless you all!

  26. Annelyn P says:

Thank you KELLY (NEO) and others for praying for our d-I-l. She is now home from hospital with a diagnosis. Meds have helped a lot and she is more like herself. Adjustments to being back home with our son and their 2 daughters is huge after all they’ve gone through. Still praying they recognize God’s hand in all this and his love for them.
Praying for all the needs mentioned – deeply appreciate those who list them for us.
I love and appreciate you, dear SRT sisters. Studying the Word together

  27. Adrienne says:

Isn’t it so refreshing to go into the Psalms on Grace Day? Judges has just been yucky. I was reading through comments last night, and I said that Samson “delivered” his people. He really didn’t “deliver” them but defeated the enemy of the Philistines, just as Jesus defeated our enemies of sin, death & the devil. We don’t often feel like the devil or sin have been defeated, but they have!

    Happy Saturday, sweet sisters!

  28. Cee Gee says:

    Psalm 32:6-7 NLT
Therefore, let all the godly pray to you

    while there is still time,

    that they may not drown

    in the floodwaters of judgment.

    For you are my hiding place;

    you protect me from trouble.

You surround me with songs of victory.

    We MUST BE READY!
We must LISTEN for/have HOPE in the sounds of victory! Reminds me of Zephaniah 3:17 and His rejoicing over us with singing!

Thank you all for your prayers; hanging in there! Hoping each day (and night) will be a little better. Last night was the best night for a few days.

LYNNE FROM ALABAMA – your post was so uplifting and I rejoice with you that you will get to GO to church! Bless Jack and his friend for giving you that time! You and Jack do remain in my prayers! Thanks for your prayers!

SEARCHING – Great pondering for grace day! ❤ Thanks for the prayers!

MICHELLE – so glad you had that opportunity! Praying for the seed.

  29. Donna Wolcott says:

Lynne from Alabama, that is wonderful news! May tomorrow fill you with peace that carries you through your week. Prayers for all of you.

  30. Lynne from Alabama says:

Happy Saturday sweet She’s! Thank you all for your prayers for Jack and I! I know many of you pray who don’t comment but it is always encouraging to see us mentioned! Some of you are so great at that—MICHELLE PATIRE, SEARCHING, KELLY (NEO), CEE GEE, SHARON, JERSEY GIRL and others!

TERRSA DONLEY—I never saw an update on your diagnosis but am still praying.

GAYLE CRAIK—Praying that God will give you His strength, HIs healing, and His peace.

MANDI—Praying for your son. May God use this counselor and the right meds to heal him of his anxiety and depression.

MICHELLE PATIRE—Still praying for you and your home situation, sweet sister. May God use you to help lead Alysha to the Lord.

CEE GEE, LANIE, C, HL, JENNY SOMERS, LAUREN GW, A WALTON,LINDA IN NC and all other requests—I am praying for your needs. May God bless and encourage you!

A coaching buddy of Jack’s is coming to stay with him tomorrow so I can go to church (only the fourth time this year). I am so excited to be going to the house of the Lord!

    Have a blessed weekend! ❤️

  31. Rhonda J. says:

    GM and Happy Saturday!

Searching, thanks for sharing Psalm 34, it is really beautiful. I want to try to add that to my memorization this year! I have done so-so on that challenge. I have such a hard time with retaining and recalling! (My downfall in school for sure!) Thank you and Kelly for listing all the prayers as you normally do for us! It definitely brings them back to the forefront to pray again for them.

Judges has been a good study! I too, am kinda wondering as well why/how Samson gets noted in the Greats. His story just seems so random and strange to be “a judge of Israel.” Hmm (makes me think of certain people that have been leaders. They seem crazy and erratic, but they did get some good policies changed.) God uses people that are unusable and crazy in our eyes.

I have my small group today at Panera! I still get nervous to lead, but the group is going so well. We are enjoying the book Free of Me, by Sharon Hoode Miller. It brings to light how often we can make everything in our lives about ourselves! It is a “me” culture, but you would think Christians focus on God more…but we fall into it as well. Even when it comes to God, we/you try to make Him into the God we have learned about in church, or how “we want: him to be for us directly. We make our family, friends, our calling, all about us sometimes! I highly recommend it.

Have a good day my friends!

  32. Mandi says:

Thank you all for prayers for my son- especially Kelly and Searching. It’s truly amazing to think of a community I have never met lifting my family up in prayer. This week started a bit rough but I am looking forward to his second counseling appointment this coming Tuesday. The doctor also adjusted his medication this week. I know God is working in him and I need to trust in the words of Psalm 139- all his days are written in God’s book.

  33. Michelle Patire says:

Thank you @Kelly Neo and Searching for your prayers!!
Heather def still needs the prayers (@Kelly Neo) – last night I got a little harsh with her. I know I need grace for her shortcomings.
@Searching – thank you for the prayers for Alysha! She was actually Heather’s classmate, so a few years younger than me, so I didn’t really know her well. The conversation went pretty well, though. It seems God is definitely moving her towards Him and her interest in Him seems genuine. We will see what happens… She’s def still “dipping her toes in” but I think it is a good direction. :)

Happy Saturday, Shes :) May the Lord hear our prayers and intercessions. May He guide us and help us see His goodness and mercy abundant. God bless you all :)

@Lynne from Alabama – always thinking of you and Jack. Hope your weekend together is blessed and that you continue persevering in the strength and Spirit of God.

  34. Karen Elizabeth says:

Thank you, Searching, for pointing out that translation difference. I do love hearing various translations to get a richer meaning of versus. We compare words from various translations at my church Bible studies sometimes. I find it so helpful to go deeper into the verse that way. I most often read from NRSV version. I got this Bible when I graduated high school from my dad who graduated from seminary around the same time. NRSV reads 32:6 as “Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them.”

  35. Aimee D-R says:

Amen. Father that I always turn to you. In Jesus name, Amen

  36. Erin L says:

I’m also an early morning reader, 5am MST. There are not many comments before I read, sometimes I go back and catch the comments later or the following day. I get so much more out of the study when I take the time to catch up on your insightful and biblical comments. Thank you for this lovely community, lifting each other up and praying for one another♥️. Happy Saturday!

  38. Searching says:

Ps 32:6 Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to you immediately (CSB)

Rather than “immediately”, NKJV states “In a time when You may be found”

May we all seek the LORD while He can be found. May we seek Him – not just His blessings, not just His forgiveness, not just the protection He can provide, not just the wisdom and guidance we need from Him day by day – seek Him to give Him praise, the one true Lord God Almighty.

    Psalm 34
    I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
    2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

MOLLY R – amen. Humbled by His seemingly endless mercy.
