  6. Michelle Patire says:

I also would note that a lot of Catholics I see tend to lean toward “spiritual” things when they don’t understand the Word of God or have a close relationship with Him. I myself was one of those people! Again, just an observation.:) sorry if it caused some offense. I was just speaking from my own personal experience.

  7. Michelle Patire says:

@Donna Walcott- I worded that awful! I was just saying, my dad goes to a Catholic church. I wasn’t saying that Catholics believe in the paranormal. My entire family outside of myself and some siblings are still Catholic. Lol. I was raised that way. I only said it because I know a lot of Catholics struggle to understand God is about relationship, not just ritual! I was giving context for my dad’s current faith. Lol. My bad for writing that weird. I respect the Catholic faith, but do have some issues with it being raised in it.

The next chapter. Deuteronomy, 31:6. “He will never leave us or forsake us.” Even when we may feel like He has, He doesn’t. Sometimes we’re so drowned in our circumstances they may feel this way, BUT even then, HE is with us. That’s when there’s only one set of footprints on the sand because he is carrying us. Trust me as I know, I’ve been carried many times. Happy Saturday sweet She’s. Today my walk is a Walk for Life.

  9. Traci Gendron says:

MUNCHKIN – We have grace weeks from 9/18-10/15. After that it looks like we are studying Judges.

  10. Cheryl Blow says:

This just makes me think God knows right where we are! He sees us and pursues us!

Yes, thank you @COLLEEN DEVEAUE for suggesting to read all of Deuteronomy! …just some thoughts on Deuteronomy 30:4 “Even if your exiles are at the farthest horizon, he will gather you and bring you back from there.” God would gather the people and restore them, but there was a condition – they needed to return to Him and obey Him with all their heart and with all their soul.

This is my daily prayer for my wayward adult sons – that they would one day obey God and love Him with all their heart and soul. If they only knew the blessings that they are missing out on. BUT GOD!…He is able to exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20) – God’s word gives me hope.

@Mercy – prayers for your work environment, that it will become a place of peace and unity, that things will begin to go smoothly & that your team mates will actually become a team.
@Rachel Lynn – praying for you as you make this career change, and that you will have peace in your decision. If you felt called and lead by God to do it – don’t let the evil one put thoughts of doubt in your mind.
@Changed Life – So sorry to hear about your pastor. I will be praying God’s mercy & grace for him and his family, peace and comfort for them as well as the church family.
@Michelle Patire – praying that your dad will fully surrender his heart to the Lord, and that he will begin to have a real distaste for all the “paranormal junk” he is letting his mind be filled with.

Thank you all for your comments, I love reading through them each day they are encouraging and make me feel like I know you all!

A blessed Saturday to all my sisters! ❤️

  13. Donna Wolcott says:

I’m saying this gently, I was raised Catholic, including 12yrs of Catholic school, and the paranormal was not a belief. I changed my faith over 45 yrs ago, and respect that faith of the rest of my family. We may not always understand other faith practices. Have a blessed weekend sisters.

  14. Aimee D-R says:

Joshua 24:14-15: “Therefore, fear the Lord and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the LORD. But if if it doesn’t please you to worship the Lord, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship—the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living?(A) As for me and my family, we will worship the Lord.”

CHANGED LIFE – What devastating news! Praying that God will send His comfort, peace, and wisdom to your pastor and family and your church community. May you draw closer to the Lord and to each other during this time.

Praying Hurricane Lee stays out away from land!

  18. Michelle Patire says:

    God bless, She’s!!
Thank you @Mercy & @Searching- it went so well, yesterday. I think the blessing was that my dad came (my mom comes to them, too, to play) and he heard me share the story of the prodigal son before I played a song partially inspired by it. I pray he received something, last night. I think my dad is saved, but he has kind of drifted from church again and focuses a lot of attention on “paranormal” books and videos (He is Catholic). May the Lord draw him closer to Him and away from those enemy distractions. Thankful for you praying ladies.

@Changed Life – may God be near to you and your church family. May this man be comforted and his family be held close to the Lord during this time. May God give them great comfort and peace.

  19. Searching says:

COLLEEN DEVEAU – thank you for the push to read all of chapter 30 today! Such a clear message on walking with Him – return to the LORD your God, love the LORD your God, obey the LORD your God.
    Especially vs 19-20,
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU LIFE and death, BLESSING and cursing; therefore CHOOSE LIFE , that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD, that you may OBEY HIS VOICE, and that you may CLING TO HIM, for HE IS YOUR LIFE and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” NKJV (empasis mine)

ANNELYN P – praying for your family and your son’s, especially your DIL’s depression and her healing-emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. May she feel the comfort of the Lord’s strength and love as she is healed.

MERCY ❤️ praying for your work issues, that they would be resolved. That your life would be the example in the resolution of problems, uncertainty, discontent and establishment of peace and order, and that others would come to know Him.

LINDA IN NC – praying for a speedy and smooth move this morning, and dry skies! And that your new home will be a place of peace and contentment for your husband.

MICHELLE PATIRE – thank you for your detailing of the purposes of God’s temple, & now pondering the application to us as His temple. Praying for your song writing, open mic nights and recording decisions. Espresso … using my moka pot :)

KRIS – praying for you as you work on the rebuild :)

SHARON JERSEY GIRL – thank you for the cornerstone research! May we focus on Christ who is that cornerstone & the plumb line of God’s truth we studied in Amos earlier this year.

BLESSED BETH – continuing to pray for the family that lost their daughter, and the conductor.

BLISS – agree with MERCY, thank you for your comment to search scriptures for God versus searching the archives for sin. I don’t remember the book or author, but recently read a comment in a novel, words to the effect that Jesus as our Savior paid our sin debt in full, so why are we still trying to work off debt we no longer owe.

  20. Andrea P says:

  21. Karen Elizabeth says:

I was just reading about the earthquake in Morocco last night and feeling such sadness at the devastation. Over 800 people have died and presumably many more since many of the mountain villages cannot be reached. Lord have mercy. Bless the rescue workers. Comfort the mourning. May Your light shine in the midst of such tragedy.

  22. Antoinette Burnett says:

    Amen

  23. Kelly (NEO) says:

Today’s verse reminds me of Jesus saying, “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?” (Mt 18:12).

  24. Mary Ann Graves says:

    Our Father is so faithful!

  25. Colleen DeVeau says:

I woke in the middle of the night and read these words.
Our “Redeemer is faithful and true. Everything He has said He will do, and every morning His mercies are new,” (Faithful and True, Steven Curtis Chapman).
I read through the rest of Deuteronomy 30 (Deuteronomy 30:1-20), and He is so good. He established this covenant of love with His people, explained the blessings and curses (terms and conditions), and yet, they code to let their hearts and minds waver as we do often do. Abba, left us fully recognize Your mercy, grace, and compassion that You have felt extended to us. Let us lean into You instead of pushing you away. Thank You for never changing. You are faithful and true. Thank You., LORD.
