Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Isaiah 53:5

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

But he was pierced because of our rebellion,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on him,
and we are healed by his wounds.
—Isaiah 53:5

Rhonda, you are right. Even though at the beginning of Chronicles I wasn’t sure I would make it. The devotional s helped me plug through and reminded me that I was seeing the disobedient people from a Risen Savior point of view. How blessed we are that we live on this side waiting for his return.

@Taylor praying for your cousin Wendy that she heals quickly. I can only imagine how scary that must have been for her. @Sarah D. Been thinking of you this week and your job situation. Praying it’s been getting better for you.

    Thank you, Jesus!!

  6. Mercy says:

Grace is free for the recipients but it costs the GIVER oh so much. And the weird thing is…He thinks sinful humans are worth it! Ha. What mysterious love. He truly loves. He truly is LOVE. Glory and honor forever be to His Name. We got beautiful sunshine today and some remnant snow in my back yard, but hopefully that will be gone soon :) I can’t wait to start planting the seedlings I started indoor. Have a blessed Saturday dear she’s. May the Lord of hope renews your hope and joy every morning.

THERESA: I’ve never thought about these verses in that way before, that Jesus is our peace treaty with God. Thank you for sharing!

KELLY (NEO): Thank you for always reaching out by name with follow ups to prayer requests and shout outs – I know SEARCHING and some others do it as well. I’ve been wondering about CHURCHMOUSE, JENNIFER LOVES JESUS, ANGIE as well ❤️

“By His stripes we are healed!” Hallelujah! There is nothing we have done that we don’t “qualify” for the love of Jesus! Reading through Chronicles really drove that, point home! Although God was angry at what they would do, turning their backs, which has consequences….He always received them back when they repented and cried out to him! (I just finished the third book in the King of Kings series by Lynn Austin! It was SO very good!)
Let us remember this when we judge people by their actions and be quick to forgive, and help them in their Jesus journey!

Praising Jesus for brand new life every morning. So grateful to be healed by someone willing to take my place so I could be with Him one day. Thank you, Father! ❤️❤️❤️

My granddaughter Alex (8 yrs old) is getting baptized tomorrow. Our adult children and grands are coming today to celebrate together. It is such a blessing to see the legacy of worshipping and obeying Christ continue thru the generations. My parents and grandparents raised their children in church and I now watch my children as they continue the tradition.
Prayers for many of you today and especially your mother’s cousin Wendy, Taylor.
Hugs to all. Enjoy your weekend ❤️

I just read this from the Enduring Word Commentary online: i. “‘He hath poured out his soul unto death.’ I will say no more about it, except that you see how complete it was. Jesus gave poor sinners everything. His every faculty was laid out for them. To his last rag he was stripped upon the cross. No part of his body or of his soul was kept back from being made a sacrifice. The last drop, as I said before, was poured out till the cup was drained. He made no reserve: he kept not back even his innermost self: ‘He hath poured out his soul unto death.’” (Spurgeon)
So amazing! Blessings to you all!

I was actually wanting to read the commentary on Isaiah 53, because this passage is astounding! I can’t fathom all He endured to save, heal, and deliver. Worthy is the Lamb to be praised! He is our only Hope! Amen!
Ladies, I started watching a YouTube video by John MacAuthor called; God’s Own Commentary on the Cross. I would put the link, but I think they have to moderate it first. If you type in those words, the reporting should come up. One is 28 minutes and the other is 38. I started listening before bed, so I paused because I don’t want to miss this teaching. Praying for you all!

  22. Theresa says:

This morning the phrase “punishment for our peace” jumped out at me. So often, I reduce the concept of peace to just a feeling. I think of peace as being the absence of anxiety and worry. A feeling of calm and relaxation where I can breathe deeply and rest knowing that I’m secure. What God spoke to me today though is that while all of that is true, the peace that Jesus brings is so much more. Peace is the opposite of war and without what Jesus did for us on the cross, we would remain at war with God; falling short of His holy standards and unable to approach His throne. We would cycle through times of opposition with God, when our sins were many and our hearts hardened, and times of repentance, where we were following God once again. The punishment that Jesus endured in our place, in my place, put an end to that cycle and created a permanent path of peace between humanity and God. Now we can boldly approach His throne in repentance. We can call on His name knowing God is not at war against us, we have a permanent peace treaty established by Jesus.

    Have a wonderful Saturday, sisters!
