Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Isaiah 40:31

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

But those who trust in the LORD
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not become weary,
they will walk and not faint.
—Isaiah 40:31

    Good morning! I was reading the Enduring Word commentary online today. I wanted to read more about Psalm 16 that we read in our reading this week. My eyes aren’t what they used to be, so I was reading the commentary for Psalm 15! This ended up being so good though. The verse was David asking who can abide in God’s tabernacle. I read about how in the ancient culture the guest was totally taken care of and protected. We can experience that peace and protection from God! Not saying that we will never have problems, but His Presence goes there and is with us! (Definitely reading t for yourself, because I’m paraphrasing.) Also, read the commentary for Psalm 16. This had me reflecting on about Jesus in His agony. There is so much peace and hope that we have now though, because of His finished work. I hope you all get to read over there and leave you encouraged and hopeful.
    @Elaine Morgan praying
    Prayers for you all!
    May I please ask for prayers for Jan. She was on the kidney transplant list, but they said that this isn’t an option anymore. Im also asking for prayers for a coworker’s mom, Ross’ lump, and Tom Cleery’s very serious stomach diagnosis. (My mom tried to explain, but I never heard of this condition before. He needs prayers!) Also, please pray for salvation for them all! Thank you all!

    Elaine, sweet daughter of the most high, I hope you know and believe that you are forgiven for whatever your part in this situation was. We never forget when wrong has occurred, but forgiveness is an important step to healing. My mother used to tell me that the Devil attacks when you are at rest. So if you can’t sleep, read the word and pray, or play worship music to fill,your mind and allow rest.

    We have had guests and I ended up behind in my studies. I’m caught up!! I’m back! Yay

    SEARCHING – What you said yesterday was spot on. I too have friends that don’t want to hear about Christ. All we can do is keep living as God would have us live. Show them love and pray they see something in us they want. GOD

    A blessed Saturday to you all!

    Oh to love, trust and abide in Him. It’s a wonderful, challenging thing to have faith! And to truly rest in Jesus. But he carries us when we can’t pick ourselves up in traumatizing, hard times of affliction. He empowers us to gather our strength when we feel like we are depleted. When my pain wears me down, day after day- I give it to my Jesus, that can and will heal me. His word tells me all I need to know to put my hope and trust in him. I have experienced many, many times how his plan is perfect. We preach that all things will be okay, it will work out. But—For those WHO love him, and look TO him, and give themselves to him. THAT is the promise. Don’t leave that last sentence out. We are a bunch of messed up people that God is using for his greater good. That messed up picture turns over to be a beautiful tapestry of beauty.

    Our story is for us to tell. To share. There are many hurting, wounded people out there that need the love of Jesus and the hope of rest that he gives. YOU are the one they need to hear from today. They need you to listen, and to give them the one true hope, that gives us peace. He fills us, and makes us whole. Let’s encourage the broken, the lost, the proud, the weary. Who is God showing you today that could use a word from you?! Don’t be too busy to miss it.

    Have a great wkd She’s! I have had a fabulous week with my new small group for Chronic Pain starting, it went really well. And our women’s study bega that is on Elijah, by Priscilla Shirer. I can already tell it is going to be amazing! She has such a way to pump you up for the Lord! We are also gearing up at church to expand to 3 services again, which means God is moving and working in our region and bringing people to church!! The season is ripe for planting, and God is bringing in the harvest! I pray that our church stays humble, and that we touch people as a loving, come as your are-church. Not of perfect “church” people, but of a bunch of redeemed, repenting people depending on a heavenly Father, believing in his son and what he did on the cross for us, and giving us his Holy Spirit to be with us in our walk.

    Prayers for all requests, and a special prayer for each of you!
