Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Hebrews 13:15

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.
—Hebrews 13:15

I’m finding out that the more time I spend in Gods word, the less space my mind has to roam and the less room the enemy has to plant lies in my mind while I try to sleep!

  7. Churchmouse says:

If I praise the Lord every day as often as I can I will be well prepared to worship corporately on Sunday. I don’t have to work myself up to praise Him because I’ve worshipped Him every day all week long. Sunday service is all the sweeter because my daily worship culminates in praise with the family of God lifting their voices in awe and wonder. How great is Our God!

  8. Mercy says:

Keep your praises to God even when it’s hard/dark/bleak/hopeless, hence sacrifice. It is the light momentary affliction. If the Bible calls it light, I will look at my trouble as light, and not magnify it as big. Amen to the Word. Let our praise be our anchor, let it be the heart posture and first thoughts when we wake up in the morning. I praise you Lord. He is worthy, worthy of all our praises. He always works and opens doors that we do not see. Our God is for us, always has been and always will be. The God who came down and suffered with us, and ascended to Heaven and still make intercessions for us, and deposited His Spirit within us. No words can describe this love.

Praying for you dear Dorothy (for your sister and nephew), Carol M (may baby James come soon without complications, I love his name very much), Taylor for speedy recovery, such a wonderful update on Amber thank you Elaine. God still works miracles today. Miracles are everywhere if we are spiritually aware. Keep praising Him dear sisters. Every praise is due our God. Hallelujah.

Be blessed dear my beautiful sisters. May you have a nice weekend wherever you might be.

So the last several days have been rough for me, if it weren’t for you, my sisters in Christ, the SRT devotions and my strong faith I don’t know if I would have made it. I have felt like I have been riding a roller coaster. My nephew is playing mind games with my sister, we are trying to figure out how I can get an apartment with her after signing a years lease in July and I spend more time at her house then I do at my apartment. I have been trying to get my nephew’s stuff packed up for her also as well as work my job and care for her.

Lord God I put all my worries, burdens, concerns and cares in Your hands. I ask that you show me Your wishes and Your ways of handling these situations. Lord keep me strong throughout all of this. In Christ Jesus name, amen.

Sisters, be blessed and remember God hears all our prayers.

To better understand what a “sacrifice of praise” meant, I googled it. Got Answers states the following: “When we bring a “sacrifice of praise,” we choose to believe that, even though life is not going as we think it should, God is still good and can be trusted (Psalm 135:2; Nahum 1:7). When we choose to praise God in spite of the storms, He is honored, and our faith grows deeper (Malachi 3:13-17; Job 13:15).” This verse in Hebrews ties directly to the Psalms, as I am sure SRT intended. Both help to strengthen my understanding of how to praise God is all circumstances.

  17. Taylor says:

@Carol M thank you so much for your sweet comment :) My best friend since the 2nd grade’s name is Carol. She’s getting married in October and I got to go for her final dress fitting yesterday as co-maid-of-honor with our other best friend of almost 20 years. I am blessed by their friendship and feeling blessed that you are thinking of and praying for me <3

Prayers for improved health so I can still do my game tomorrow and I have a busy work week coming up. Thank you and I hope everyone has a blessed Saturday <3
