Open Your Bible

Colossians 1:13

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Oops. Hit the return button too soon. I just wanted to add I’m not young anymore. I’m in my mid 50s. But I know God continues to take care of me and my kids. They’re not little anymore but they still need me. Especially my high schooler.

@ANNE Carlson. Thank you so much your encouragement! Just read this song that you gave me as I sit here in my car waiting for my friend so we can walk into togetherness to a friend’s husband‘s memorial service.

MARI, In 1956 my mother, in her mid-thirties, was suddenly alone raising a 6 year old little girl, and responsible for her ailing mother. She had only a high school education and was overwhelmed. But she had a deep love of Jesus. Her favorite Bible Verse was Psalm 121. Her life was an amazing testament to God’s grace and strength. I know our Lord will protect and guide you. Will be praying for you!

SRT IS such a beautiful blessing! Love all ya’ll! I keep thinking about yesterday’s devotional about restoration and seeing it taking place all around us if our eyes are open!! We are usually so caught up by the negative around us, or just the normal around us. But God- He gives us so many blessings of restoration, and I see it clearly in my life looking back! My marriage is a beautiful example of that, after putting the Holy Spirit in charge, my husband and I have had our marriage come back to the center of love and respect for each other. I have had failed marriages, so I don’t take lightly how much work it is to keep the love alive! But we can’t do things in our own strength, it just won’t work. God will restore every good thing in His timing. Jesus said It is Done, and it is, even in the here and now, in the complicated, in the darkness. It takes faith, and we must share our testimonies and the light of Jesus Christ!

Mari praying for your situation. God is using it to grow you, but follow His guidance in open and closed doors, and His soft whisper to you! It’s so awful to be “stuck” in the waiting and unknown. But you are one of the sweetest, I can’t imagine YOU not having friends there! You have so many friends here that we have grown to love you and your sweet spirit over the last couple of years!

Missing you Victoria E!! We want to know how it is going with our Godson!! (lol). We love that little guy we have been praying for all these months and you. his precious momma!! I have such a vision of you in my head!

Rebecca how is it going with your son? Prayers for restoration in your dear son!

Kelly- loved your words today! My dad is still caught up in the same cycle of pain that has kept him down for a few years now. RA, hip and joint pain, swelling, constant pneumonia, arthritis, and COPD. I just pray for the lessening of the pain so he can be up and about, which is the hardest thing for him to lay around. His wife is in some pretty serious issues with her kidney and set up for Dyalis, so I worry and pray for her as well. But God will restore them, if not here, they will be restored beautifully in heaven.

    Prayers for you Dorthy!
Heidi—How is your niece doing??! I hope she is on the road to success and finding restoration in our Saviour!

I also listened to another great episode of “The Unfolding” today, about finding a closeness to God in our suffering. The guest lady, Kaitlyn, lost a newborn but tells of the journey and the great restoration that came about.

No manatees or dolphins today, just a cute turtle I had to save trying to cross the road! Have a blessed day sisters!

Our world today is so full of darkness, WE NEED to be the SHINING LIGHT OF GOD’S AND CHRIST’S LOVE AND HOPE AND FUTURE. We need to bring THE WORD AND THE GOSPEL to EVERYONE we meet, whether through our words, actions, or even just a smile or polite gesture. The more we spread the GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL the happy the world will be — or at least that’s what I believe.
    Have a great weekend.
Asking for several pray requests; my aunt I mentioned a couple of days ago is now in the hospital with diarrhea. She called me last night after I got home from work and asked me to call an ambulance, I called the front desk of the facility where she was and they took care of everything. Also, I think I mentioned I would be caring for two other children besides Finley, well Kaylee, the other little girl I care for is in the hospital sick. My last request is minor compared to those two, it’s for myself, last evening when I was working with Finley she was trying to helping by jumping (or pretending to jump) and I wasn’t quite ready for her to do it — we do it all the time to help me get her up on the changing area — and her head met my chin and I bit my lip. My lip was bleeding for a little bit and is now swollen.
Sisters be blessed and spread Christ’s love and message throughout the world one person at a time.

Morning SRT sisters. As I read through the verse today and read through the comments I just want to say I appreciate you all. And I would appreciate prayers as my workplace has become such a challenge. I work at a school but my job is year around. Without getting into too much detail I really only have one friend in my work area. She’s my JW friend who I love so much and we have such a great relationship. She “sees” how I am treated. But I’m doing my best to be an example for her. If you could pray what my next step might be. I only have a high school education and very little college so I really don’t know what else to do. Please pray for guidance. I may not be a widow, but I am a single parent who loves Jesus so much! And my God is providing for me. I have what I need.
