Grace Day

from the Daniel reading plan

Philippians 4:6

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Thank you all for your sweet prayers and words of encouragement for Taylor and I yesterday on relationships! Taylor, I definitely relate to that for sure! I go to a Christian college and it is kind of funny how many friends are getting engaged during senior year. But, the goal of life is not to get married, it is to pursue Christ and make him known. So thankful for this community, wish I could give you all a hug. Definitely have felt your prayers, and I am continuing to pray that I would surrender all to Christ. That he would be the focus of my life. That I would leave my desire to be married one day in his hands, treat men as brothers in Christ, and only be satisfied in Jesus. There is TRUE peace and TRUE joy found in him. His faithful love endures forever. Praying I would remember that and daily depend on him, in every moment.

I’m praying alongside you, Sarah! Our goal is to pursue and focus on Jesus, to give our desires to him, and find satisfaction in Jesus alone—these are great reminders for this season. We can have peace and joy today in the Lord. Thank you for sharing, I needed these reminders today.

I so appreciate reading this verse in The Passion Translation this morning. I hope it gives you all the encouragement and comfort that it did me.
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life…”

There may be lots to worry and fret about— but there is still so much good happening in EVERY city in our nation—- find those non-profits in your town. Volunteer!! Even during COVID. Get out and wear a mask —- deliver meals to shut ins —- hand out free food at food banks— volunteer at your local pregnancy resource centers (fold diapers—hang clothes—run the sweeper) the list is long. Yes, some have to stay home— the rest of us can volunteer. Today if you live in hurricane area— go pick up tree limbs. —- We are a nation of “God’s helpers”! Be one.

Churchmouse, I too am so grateful for music (as many see, I like to share good songs containing to our readings!) I have the music on all day in my house. My son has heard it from the time he was 2 or 3, and he is now 20! And I hope and pray those songs have embedded in his soul and will be there forever! It was always so cool to catch him or my husband unconsciously singing along to a song! I can’t imagine not having my music as I go through the day. In this world it is so easy to focus on everything BUT God until you go to your usually prayer time or service or whatever, but when the music is on throughout the day, or when you pop into the car, it stays front and center! I even just started monthly donations again from Kloves recent pledge drive. I am poor (lol), but if I can pay for netflix monthly I can certainly afford to keep something so crucial on the air! It reaches so many people and I sing along and praise all day long! I also love my old hymnals from growing up and sometimes throw on my “hymnals” list on youtube! The song playing right now is Evidence, by Josh Baldwin, what a beautiful song. There is evidence of his goodness all over my life! Isn’t that the Truth!! Love it!! Always see evidence, it’s all around us every day! Nothing to fear! The evidence is here! Have a great, blessed Saturday friends!

I too love to worship to music as often as possible. Praise can make a long hard day better. It’s always on in my car. The song you mention Evidence is my favorite song right now. When I look back at my 62 years I can see the evidence of his goodness all over my life. Have a wonderful and blessed day SRT sisters.❤️

Happy Saturday, sisters! I want to thank you for praying for my husband, who was showing Covid symptoms after working his shift at the hospital on Tuesday evening. Taylor, I wish I could hug you! What a sweet and beautiful prayer. We drove 30 miles yesterday to a test site, and he tested negative! Praise God!
In an in-depth study I did on Daniel in 2006, we were asked to memorize Daniel 2:20+23 Sometimes, I wake in the night, and this is the prayer,I pray, “Praise be to the name of God forever and ever.Wisdom and power are His. He changes times and seasons. He sets up kings and deposes them.He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with Him. I thank you and praise you oh God for giving me wisdom and power. You have made known to me what I asked of you. You have made known to us the dream of the king”.
God is still on the throne! Be blessed! Be anxious for nothing.

Church mouse and Sue, I’m so Grateful I was lead to your conversation this morning. I really needed to see your comments. My the Lord keep you and continue to bless you! Thank you, Holy Spirit!

  7. Sue says:

Churchmouse, I also struggle with worry and my thoughts are eager to travel down those same rabbit trails.

Grateful this morning that we can pray about EVERYTHING. There is nothing that is off limits with our God. He cares about it all.

I love the message version of this verse: “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.”

Choosing prayer, petition, and thanksgiving today.

  8. Churchmouse says:

In this season of Covid and all its concerns and isolation, I have plenty of time to choose to worry rather than worship. My thoughts seem eager to run down every rabbit hole. Thank God for music that turns me to worship! I’m so grateful for those who use their musical talents in praise. It defeats worry by taking my eyes off myself and this world and placing them on God and His. Worship leads also to confident praying. And so that is how I shall spend this day. The request list is long but He is able. Praise God!

    1. Mari V says:

Thank you Churchmouse. I know that you faithfully pray for everyone here. Please know that you are also prayed for.

    2. Marianne Ling says:

      Thank you Churchmouse.

It is exactly why worship is so important now. Where we are unable to gather physically, our worship is not limited to the church walls but to everyday of our lives. When we praise and worship God, we lift our eyes up to Him, we know our God is so much greater than our situations/challenges.

There’s a YouTube channel [Faith that Inspires] which is a simple platform that reaches out to encourage and to bless the community with worship unto God in your own personal time and space. Blessings.
