This verse couldn’t be more fitting for this morning. I went to bed listening to my daughters devotion on anxiety and woke up to it. YES God‘s comfort brings me joy. I have court again at the end of the week. Prayers are appreciated. but today prayers are appreciated and I take my kids on a much needed day trip to the beach area. normally this would be an overnight trip to start out our summer but that’s OK the three of us are in need of just getting out of the area. Even though we will not be allowed on the beach unless we’re surfing, that’s OK too.
    Please pray for our safety.

This is a time when we are “filled with cares.” Even a cursory following of the news is enough to make one tremble. The very ground seems to be shaking beneath our feet. It’s as if all the world is screaming in despair and anger. My prayer closet seems the only place of refuge. Focused time in His presence puts all in perspective. We believers know what’s going on. This war is not unexpected and we know who the real combatants are. We also know the weaponry available. All this knowledge gives us comfort because it comes from the Word of God. He knows the past, the present and the future. He’s disclosed it to us. Deep breath. We have His assurance that a new day is coming. Until then we persevere and endure, not with fear but with resurrection power and the peace that passes understanding. He comforts us. We stand on His promises and so we can remain joyful. Victory is assured. Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee!

Praying the protests remain peaceful in your beautiful state, Lehua. I found today’s verse comforting as well in these uncertain times. Blessings all!

This was a great Scripture for me to read tonight (yes, it’s almost 8pm here in Hawai’i lol).

My heart is heavy and concerned for our community. We got news that some protesters flew in from the mainland (continental U.S.) recently and for our state there’s a 14-day quarantine but there’s going to be more protesting this weekend. So I don’t know if they’ve been here already or if they’re going to knowingly break quarantine…

With our COVID-19 numbers being relatively low (everyone has been very diligent here with the social distancing, staying home and wearing masks everywhere), some of the protests may increase our number of cases especially since protesters are closely gathered and not wearing masks. I am trying my best to not worry because it’s out of my control… I keep thinking of the song “It Is Well”…

I humbly ask if you could please pray for our community, for the safety and health of all who are here. I pray nothing extreme will happen (protests have been peaceful here so far) to people and property. I will continue to pray for all the communities around our nation as well… Have a blessed weekend everyone.
