One thing my seminarian husband taught me about peace is that it’s not the absence of fighting (“stillness”). It’s about the presence of justice and righteousness. Therefore peace can be trying to restore a state of justice too.

It’s A beautiful Saturday morning. Looks like we might get a slight break from the heat. But I actually love the heat. (yep I cause little frowns). Peace… That’s what I love about Saturday morning runs. The sun is still fresh, I can hear the birds singing, it’s a new day. Praying that all you my sisters experience God‘s peace today. The Lord knows I need it too. And Churchmouse I’m always encouraged by your words. I look forward to reading your comments daily.

What a perfect reminder for me to change my mindset for the day! Grumping at my family as we are getting ready for another house showing, helps no one. Live in peace… give my family peace. This is a season to support and encourage, not gripe and complain over every little detail.

    1. Susan Merritt says:

I hope your house sells quickly. We just went through this and it was super stressful mainly because I’m in school, I have three kids, and my husband works a lot. God has been so merciful, when I had moments of breakdowns he helped me get through the day! Most days I asked myself how I was even able to make it through the day and then of course the spirit reminded me of Gods grace. He was aiding me the whole time.

    2. Susan Merritt says:

I hope you can feel His strength and His grace during these moments as well.

    Yes @Kristen!

Today’s verse on the Bible app does match up to this <3

I am so grateful for Him speaking to us in the subtlest ways just like He has to me today. I went to sleep sad and on the verge of anger and woke up worse. I've known Ephesians 4:26 since I was younger, yet it is so easy for me to "forget" it when I am in a difficult situation.

May the Lord always remind us who He is and that He always remembers us.

  5. Karen says:

The best way I know to diffuse anger towards another is to pause and think, how can I see God in this person or in this situation? Although I often neglect doing this practice, when I do, it helps reframe my thoughts to looking at the other person or at the situation through a different lens….grace.

  6. Churchmouse says:

Anger and discontent can blind me of recognizing the goodness of God. All I see is myself: how I am offended, how I am hurt, how I am unhappy, how I am overlooked, how I am oppressed, how I am taken advantage of, how I can’t get a break, how I don’t have this or that. In my anger and discontent, it’s all about me. I cannot see God’s goodness or His care because my focus is on me and my apparent lack. There’s no peace in anger and discontentment. Peace is found when my eyes move from myself to God. Today let me count my blessings and see His face.

  7. LKM says:

What does it mean to live in peace? Who are all man? How do we be holy? How does one miss the grace of God? How do we see to it that this does not happen? Lord help us to recognize any potential better roots in our hearts and lives and confess them to you.

  8. Kristen says:

The verse of the day on the Bible app is Ephesians 4:26 stating not to sin in your anger and not to let the sun go down on your anger. The verse above goes with this! May God help me to walk in these verses. I need His help to think before speaking and acting. I want to draw people to Him and not away! May people see the Lord through us.

      Amen!!
