Day 6

Grace Day

from the Because He Lives reading plan

Zechariah 12:10

BY She Reads Truth

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

“Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the house of David and the residents of Jerusalem, and they will look at me whom they pierced. They will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child and weep bitterly for him as one weeps for a firstborn.”
—Zechariah 12:10

This week is spring break for me. My kids are at my parents for the week and I’ve had a lot of time to sit and be in the word. Something I don’t usually choose to do. Today is Grace day and I am so thankful for this week—these words and His everlasting grace. Thank you dear Lord Jesus. Thank you for never letting go even when I’m trying to run away.

Grace is unearned but if it was earned it wouldn’t be grace. The very nature of God is to give us things we haven’t earned because that is who He is – the great I Am. That’s what this season is all about

Pouring out grace! How desperately I need His grace. Some days my sin and apathy overwhelm me. And my first instinct is to hide. But His grace calls me back. And His mercy restores me.
