Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Ephesians 2:19

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

19 So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.

It’s reassuring to know we have so many brothers and sisters in Christ!

So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers,
but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household,
    (I no longer “fit” in this world, here I am a foreigner and stranger;
with the saints and fellow members of God’s household, I am family,
    I am home.)

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
(may my life be a foundation for future generations)

with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.
In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
(The Cornerstone, Jesus, makes this building, this temple holy,
because he is holy. Thank you again Lord.)

In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.
(Held together by the mortar of the Holy Spirit.)

Do you remember the story of the 3 little pigs?
Our house is built of bricks ladies, with Jesus as the Cornerstone and the Holy Spirit as the mortar.
(And, the Father spoke it all into being, including us.)
When the big, bad wolf is at the door
he can huff and puff, but he will not blow down the holy house of bricks
even if this earthly time should end,
our home is built on the solid Rock for eternity.

@Tara, That happens to me too. And I pray for specific people.

One last thing. Running has been a big part of my healing journey. When not training with these kids, I use this time to listen to my worship music as I run alone. Talk to God, pray and sometimes cry.

  7. Mari V says:

I love GRACE DAY! I love getting together with all of you each morning. I love GOD’s WORD! I wish I could say I’ll be resting. At least I didn’t get up as early as I normally do. In a little while I’ll be running with the Junior High students from our school as we are near the end of our half marathon training. I’m so excited! Pray for safety and no injuries as some of our students have experienced. I’m so PROUD of our kids! I’ve known most of them since kindergarten. They are now seventh and eighth graders.

  9. Churchmouse says:

Those who came before us left a legacy of faith for those of us now following Jesus. May I also pass the baton to those who come behind me. Lord, find me faithful.

  10. NanaK says:

My extended family have never been close and until I was an adult with a family of my own, I never felt like I belonged. How wonderful to be able to hold onto this truth: I am a member of God’s household….such amazing grace bestowed upon me. Thank you LORD for loving me.
Have a blessed weekend dear Sisters! :-)

  11. LeAnn Schmitt says:

Grace Day! Taking time to absorb that after a challenging week.

  12. Shawn Parks says:

Belonging. I belong to God. Can anything give me more peace?

  13. Terrisa Stewart says:

Grateful for making it through another week to rest in God’s presence. Catching up on the reading I skipped this week. Honouring where I am in my journey.

    1. Jaclyn Gilbert says:

Me too Terrisa. I’m grateful that He’s always ready to commune with me. When I show up and when I don’t.
