Verse 23 spoke to me quite much. It is amazing that he loves and knows about every single one of us before we even are alive.
So amzing and i want to live in his truth.

Hello ladies! I'm new to this amazing community! :)

Some of the main points that I've learned are – I babble through my prayers just like the pagans did because I try to jumble it into one prayer at night but through the Lord's prayer – I feel like everything I need to say is right there, in those words. I have learned to never give up on my prayers and to be like the tax collector when praying, short and sweet. Through John 17, I have learned that Jesus even thought of us back then, He wants protection for us from the evil one. Verse 9 stuck out to me because he prayed for individual believers, not the whole world. He also wanted us to be one in Him.

Hello ladies!! I'm new here, just found this amazing community yesterday! I am catching up and here's what I've learned from God's word.

I have come to realize that I babble just like the pagans when I pray because I jumble it all into one prayer…which I know that I shouldn't do. I need to learn to pray throughout the day or keep a prayer journal. I love Luke 1:9 because whatever we ask for will be given, doors opened, and when we seek we will find. Nothing is too small for God. I love that we can cry out to God and he will turn his ear to us (Psalm 88:1-2). I love that no matter what, Jesus doesn't want us to give up on praying (Luke 18:1).

Now for today's – John 17. The verse that stood out to me the most was verse 9. Like those who have posted above me … Jesus wanted to protect us from the evil one and wanted us to be one.

  4. Rin says:

I love that waaaay back then, Jesus knew the father and he knew us too. He prayed for us and all believers that we might be united under God. Just makes me want to love all the Christian siblings.

  5. Kristin says:

I love how Jesus just opened himself up fully in prayer…put everything on the table. Being able to do that, with complete comfort and reassurance. What a powerful thing prayer can be!

    1. Kim B. says:

With complete comfort & reassurance…wow Kristin, that TOTALLY spoke to me :) Sometimes when I commit my needs to God & I don't get an immediate answer I get discouraged. I need to be reassured that He DOES hear me & He DOES care, it's just not time for Him to act…yet! I loved verse 4 where Jesus states, "I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do," Jesus didn't quit when He suffered & neither should we!

  6. Rebecca says:

I recently have been reading through Francis Chan's latest book entitled "Erasing Hell." As I have been reading and discussing with other people, we just try and avoid the topic of hell and the devil because it is not pleasant to think on. However, if Jesus saw it important to pray for us as we are still here, we have to be so aware of the severity of the spiritual warfare we are living in.As I was reading your comment Rebekah, I just felt it necessary for the Lord to break my heart for those who do not know them as their personal Lord as well as my spiritual family battling along side me. What purpose have I but that, and yet I find myself selfishly withholding my Jesus rather than sharing his goodness.
