Rahab heard of God’s power and extended peace and welcome to God’s people. We experience the fullness of Christ’s peace when we shape our responses to suffering by what we know is true about God.

What can you learn from Rahab’s response to God in today’s reading?

  1. Jacqueline Linton says:

    It reminds us that good works and faithfulness go hand in hand.

  2. Amy EB says:

    Rahab was not an Israelite, she was not raised to believe in God, she was not in a culture of believers. But she had heard of what God was doing and she believed in His power and also His mercy since she asked for her family to be spared. God is undeniable when someone truly looks at what He is doing in the lives of His people. If Rahab with her limited exposure to God’s work was willing to put her faith in Him, how much more should I be in awe of what He is capable of and be willing to obey Him.

  3. Nicole Powell says:

    That God will use anyone

  4. Latoddra Mason says:

    Amen

  5. Indyia Ford says:

    Faith without action and works is not justified, you must have faith and works towards God together.

  6. Mercy says:

    “You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone” (James 2:24). This really stood out to me, that the evidence of faith is the evidence of transformed works. There will be good works when faith is deposited in the good heart, good soil of a person. The actions of Rahab could be considered a betrayal of her own king and her own nation. In man’s eyes it’s considered as such, this action caused people in Jericho to be killed. But she was willing to let go of everything of her former life, former allegiance to follow the God of Israel and accommodate the spies. This is like the story of salvation for us. When we find the field of the pearl, we sell all that we own so we can buy that field (In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.(“ The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!” Matthews 13:45-46). This is what Rahab did. Only her and her families were spared when Jericho was overtaken. The right allegiance with the right King will save our lives, and with the wrong “king”, we will perish.

  7. Allison Bentley says:

    What stood out to me today in this story was the fact that Rahab lived “on the wall”. God placed her in that house “along the wall” way before (or maybe not- before though) the spies ever showed up! God ALWAYS has a plan and ALWAYS shows up!!! Such a relief to know that I am where I am supposed to be- I just need to keep trusting in God!!!!

  8. Ginny K says:

    Read in notes the ‘scarlet’ thread was symbolic of the Passover instruction to paint (in blood) the doorpost to show the angel of death to pass over this dwelling/family. This is part of the ‘scarlet thread of redemption throughout the Bible.

    1. Jazz Nean says:

      Oh neat, I didn’t know that.

  9. Angela Wiegman says:

    Rehab, went against what everyone else was doing and did what she knew was right. Rehab had faith in God to follow the instructions and through that, her entire family was saved from destruction.imgaine how things would’ve been different if she had chosen not to do just part of.her story?

  10. Adrianne says:

    What can you learn from Rahab’s response to God in today’s reading?

    What an outstanding response in a time of no internet, phones, or newspapers where you get videos or direct reports. She heard about the Lord and His people.

    Even through hearsay from other people she believed.

    I would say that I learned from her actions that belief is powerful. That in a time of our history where people used walls to feel safe, she knew that the Lord’s power was an awesome force and she knew what was going to happen. She had faith in the Lord’s power and His saving grace in protecting her family.

  11. Jennifer Anapol says:

    I want to show that I am a follower of God by my works. Rehab want even a follower of God yet, when she put her own life on the line to save his people. I want to be like that.

  12. Gwineth52 says:

    Hello Shes

    Rahab knew about their God
    Rahab knew to step out on fledging faith
    Rahab knew to disobey the king
    Rahab knew to establish an oath
    Rahab knew the promise of safety
    Rahab did not know her daring act would have an important place in the Biblical story

    Rahab teaches me to be alert, aware & able to “read” circumstances
    Rahab teaches me “to step out on “faith”
    Rahab teaches how to take a calculated & courageous risk
    Rahab teaches me to look out for others besides myself
    Rahab teaches me to seek & serve the bigger God of Israel

    1. Danielle B says:

      This is beautifully said Gwineth52

    HERE…here at SRT…and funny I was just thinking about this. I don’t feel judged or less-than by anyone here! I (we) can be myself (ourselves) and be loved no matter age, race, culture, financial status, background, past life before Jesus! HERE, I feel safe to be me! Love you all sweeties!! Commenting in late as I slept in. PS. I’m even learning from some of you “young” ladies! YOU are wise beyond your years!

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Amen, Mari! ❤

  14. Tami says:

    I love the story of Rahab. Something I noticed was that the instructions that the spies gave rehab, to bring her family into the house and not let them leave while putting out the scarlet cord, mimic the instructions that Moses gave the Israelites on the night of the Passover. I kind of wonder how long they had to wait inside the house before Joshua‘s army came. There was faith in that waiting.
    What amazes me about Rahab is that, when given the chance, she responded immediately in faith based on what she had heard about God. She heard and she acted on what she heard. She rushed her life by hiding the spies and lying to the king. She feared God more than she feared man (a good lesson for me!) and her faith landed her in the lineage of Christ and in the “hall of faith”. God can use anyone who has an open heart – we just need to show up and be willing to act.

    1. Tami says:

      *risked her life

  15. Traci Gendron says:

    Once again God uses sinners to further His message. Rahab a prostitute was faithful. It made me think of why we should not judge others in their walk with Christ. And we need works and faith.

    1. Mari V says:

      YES!! Traci! Totally in agreement with you!

    2. Tami says:

      Yes so true!

  16. Kris says:

    I’m so thankful I don’t have to be perfect for God to use me, and I don’t have to be perfect in my faith to have faith. I falter sometimes, I worry sometimes, I doubt sometimes… but God does not disqualify me because of that. I’m still one of His children, I’m still welcome in the family, He still uses me. What a wonderful thing!!!

  17. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

    Rahab had a faith that was not by sight, but by trusting fully in the God she could not see. A faith so great that she believed not only that her life could be spared among all the death, destruction and carnage, but also the lives of all her family.

    My response to suffering can be shaped by what I know is true about God…
    Exodus 34:6 ~ God is merciful, gracious, longsuffering and abounding in goodness.

    Mark 10:18 ~ No one is good but God.

    1 John 4:8,16 ~ God is love.

    Psalm 18:30 ~ God’s way is perfect.

    Romans 8:28 ~ God works in all things, for the good of those who love Him.
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    I hope and pray with all my heart, that when the time for my suffering comes, I will remember these scriptures and be helped.
    Have a blessed Monday ladies!
    1. Tami says:
      Amen Sharon. Thanks for the scripture references!
    2. Cee Gee says:
      I, too, thought of the ‘faith by sight’ verse when I was reading this morning. Love the Scriptures you shared! ❤
    3. Elizabeth Oster says:
      Thank you, Sharon!!
  18. Melissa says:
    Rehab’s response to the spies often reminds me of Peter’s to Jesus “Where else would I go?” When we see Jesus as the ultimate savior of our souls, it leaves us little room to choose anything else. My mind must wrap around this daily though as I become blinded by the things of this world.
    1. Rhonda J. says:
      Yes, good!
  19. Cee Gee says:
    I am always intrigued by the scarlet thread. From got questions web site – just a portion of an article:
    “…Another significant mention of scarlet thread is in Joshua 2. Two spies had been sent to Jericho in advance of the Israelites’ taking of that city. The spies were hidden in Jericho by Rahab the harlot, who expressed her faith in Israel’s God and protected the spies (see Hebrews 11:31). Rahab allowed the Hebrew spies to escape from Jericho by letting them down through her window by means of a rope made of scarlet thread. As they departed, the spies told Rahab, “Tie this cord of scarlet thread in the window” (Joshua 2:18), with the promise that she and her household would be kept safe in the coming invasion. By faith, Rahab obeyed: “And she tied the scarlet cord in the window” (verse 21).
    Later, when the walls of Jericho fell down and the Israelites took the city, Joshua commanded that Rahab and her family be spared (Joshua 6:22–23). Marking her home was, of course, the “cord of scarlet thread.” It’s easy to dismiss the color of Rahab’s rope as mere coincidence, but the scarlet color is significant. The rope in her window was a sign of her faith and led to her salvation, as she was not destroyed with the rest of Jericho. The scarlet rope—the color of blood—worked for Rahab much as the blood of the Passover lamb had worked during the exodus: every home marked with blood was spared death that night (Exodus 12:13). God’s mercy and forgiveness of Rahab the harlot was signified by a rope of scarlet thread, which becomes a symbol of the blood of Christ.
    Theologians and Bible students sometimes refer to “the scarlet thread running through the Bible.” By this they mean that the Bible’s theme is Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for the redemption of mankind. The blood of Christ runs throughout the entire Bible, symbolically. It is seen in the animals killed in Eden to provide garments for Adam and Eve, the ram that took Isaac’s place on the altar of Moriah, the Passover lamb, the institution of the sacrificial system, the scarlet rope of Rahab, and the thousands of years of sacrifices performed at the tabernacle and temple. The scarlet thread runs all the way up to John the Baptist’s declaration, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) and to the foot of the cross, where Jesus finally says, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
    “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Hebrews 9:22), and that’s why the symbolism of the scarlet thread in the Bible is significant. The scarlet thread is the theme of atonement found throughout the pages of Scripture.”
    Thanks sisters for your great ponders and comments! ❤
    .
    I got my advent book yesterday! Yay!!!
    Hope each of you has a blessed week and an opportunity to share your faith.
    1. Traci Gendron says:
      Thank you for all this information on the scarlet thread. I found it very interesting!
      1. Cee Gee says:
        ❤ praying for you, Traci! ❤
    2. Shar says:
      This. 100%. I had a Bible College prof that always talked about the scarlet thread that runs through Scripture, and I think we should be looking for this in every Bible story and passage, since,as you noted, the whole theme of the Bible is God’s redemption of mankind. So many of the children’s Bible story books I grew up on completely missed the point. They mainly attached little morals to the stories that did little to connect to God’s plan of redemption and as adults, it is easy to consider Bible stories in isolation of the greater theme.
      As an aside, I found myself wondering today where the scarlet cord in this story came from. Did people commonly have them? Was it Rahab’s? It seems the spies may have whipped it out of their travel bag. If so, were they specifically prompted to bring it? Thanks for this Cee Gee.
      1. Cee Gee says:
        Ooh, I love your questions! I just assumed it was something she used to advertise her services as a harlot! Now I will have to do more research! Lol ❤ Thanks for the great feedback, Shar!
    3. Tami says:
      Love this Cee Gee!
    4. Lanie H says:
      Yessss to all of this. A while ago God spoke to me very specifically about a question I had (dont remember the question) but his answer was by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimonies. From then on out I have been hyper aware of the “scarlet thread” through scripture. I remember a scandalous moment this easter where some church said they would not be mentioning the blood in their media, and feeling sick to my stomach about it. Since then I have been feeling more an more empowered to “bloody up the gospel” aka the total opposite of water it down lol
      1. Cee Gee says:
        Thanks, Lanie, for sharing that! Praying for you as you and baby girl get ready! ❤
      2. Raquel Franco says:
        I love that
  20. Cheryl Blow says:
    What ever our background, God can use us! I think it also speaks to believers to not judge where others are in their walk with Christ. Someone may be a new believer and still have some old habits but it doesn’t mean they don’t love Jesus and have accepted him as Savior. We just keep living them and discipline them. I don’t know about you but God is still working on me in my walk with Christ and I’ve know Him for 60 of my 68 years. I still have things I have to surrender to God and repent. They are just more of the wrong attitude sins and tongue sins! You know, the ones that people don’t always see but God knows!
    Oh, but I’m thankful that He never stops working on me! Reminds me of the children’s song,
    He’s still working on me
    To make me what I need to be
    It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
    The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
    How loving and patient He must be
    ‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me
    He’s still working on me
    To make me what I need to be
    It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
    The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
    How loving and patient He must be
    ‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me
    There really ought to be a sign upon my heart
    Don’t judge him yet, there’s an unfinished part
    But I’ll be better just according to His plan
    Fashioned by the Master’s loving hands
    He’s still working on me
    To make me what I need to be
    It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
    The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
    How loving and patient He must be
    ‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me
    In the mirror of His word
    Reflections that I see
    Makes me wonder why He never gave up on me
    But He loves me as I am and helps me when I pray
    Remember He’s the potter, I’m the clay
    He’s still working on me
    To make me what I need to be
    It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
    The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
    How loving and patient He must be
    ‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me
    He’s still working on me
    To make me what I need to be
    It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
    The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
    How loving and patient He must be
    ‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me
    I really find the parallel made here between the Rahab story and Jesus’ words in Matthew 10:40-42 thought-provoking. That deserves some meditation.
  22. Sarah M says:
    I love that God chose Rahab to be in Jesus’s family line. She was not perfect, but God chose her. It makes me feel His love for me. Thank You God for choosing and loving me.
    GM She’s! It’s Monday, again. We are almost in the middle of November! I am still back in Sept it feels! (Maybe it is living in SW Florida…!) I really love this study that focuses on Faith in the history of the OT. I know we thought it was a repeat study of Hebrews in the beginning, but is it? Or is it a repeat of Hebrews with a different focus? Any who…
    I love the story of Rahab the prostitute!! One is the obvious–God saves anyone that chooses to believe and put their faith in Him!! How wonderful to know and share! So many think they are a lost cause..that their life is too bad for God to love them.
    Two–it was her initiative to hide them and make a deal! She put what she knew and heard into action to help them and to help herself. God wants our action! We will have troubles and trials—that’s when what we know needs our action..faith with works!
    Three- That she is able to SAVE her whole family and loved ones!! They had to think she was crazy…but she told them truth, and had them come and take action and faith as well, they had to come willingly once they heard truth. A decision, a choice. HUGE!
    Four–LOVE that the prostitute made the faith , and is in the line of David. We just have no idea what is going on and happening in our lives and it’s impact. We must have faith and works, and watch God work!! So good!!
    Comments are good, prayers are prayed!!
    And the wkd requests as well. Hugs to all of you going through the hard. Cling to Him, your rock.
    1. Mari V says:
      ….in the line of David! YES!! God can use ANYONE!!
    2. Tami says:
      Great points Rhonda! Thank you!
  28. Peggy Pappas says:
    Rehab demonstrated great faith and courage as she risked her life hiding the spies. Not only was she rewarded by being saved from the city’s destruction, but she is honored in the geneology of Jesus. Being welcomed into the Israelite community, she married Salmon, mothered Boaz, a kind hearted man who took pity on a young widowed Ruth whom he redeemed and married. Their son was Obed, father of Jesse who was the father of King David. God can redeem and use anyone who put their faith and trust in Him. Praise God!
    1. Mari V says:
      YES!! LOVE this!!
  29. Michelle P says:
    Proverbs 9:10-12: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
    For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.
    If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.”
    The difference between Rahab and her neighbors was her fear of God. Not terror of God, but reverence and humility before God to hide His people from the rulers of Jericho. The people of Jericho knew of God, yet did not humble themselves before Him. That is why her and her family were saved. ❤️
    Hope you Shes have a great week. ❤️ going to pray for the requests I see here. Thank you again for lifting my upcoming open mic up that is happening Friday :) will let you know how it turns out!
    God bless and keep you.
    1. Rhonda J. says:
      Oh, that is a great verse for the story!!
      Excited for this event on Friday that YOU created! It seems like you were just taking this job, and look at you making a difference where you are! Right where God has put you! And you get to do your music and hopefully what God brings to you to speak. Maybe just through the perfect song?! Sometimes it seems like we didn’t do what we hoped…but trust me…God will use it in ways you may never know till heaven!! But I’m hoping He will reveal!!
  30. Maria Baer says:
    This is by no means— political or argumentative, but when I hear comments that the Bible is misogynistic or devalues women, I always tell them they haven’t truly read the word, because many of the most poignant or biggest turning points in the Bible are by women. God created women and He loves us too! And the story of Rahab is one of those that I just love.
      So agree, Maria. Our church just finished the study of Job. In the last chapter, Job is restored and it names only his three daughters and that they received an inheritance along with their seven brothers who were not mentioned by name. I never noticed that before. I found that very interesting.
  33. Searching says:
    My notes as I read this morning-
    Joshua’s choice of the 2 spies – who were wise and savvy enough to negotiate an agreement when requested, with terms and a null & void clause for failure to comply w/ terms. Led by God – yes, and maybe his own spying background?
    Spies led to Rahab’s house – we aren’t told that they wandered around, so did they feel drawn to her house? Did they know her profession when they chose the house?
    Someone told king that spies had entered and Rahab thought quickly to protect spies when king’s men showed up. Apparently no one tried to confirm that someone saw them leave – so she must have been considered trustworthy. A reminder to me that there are layers of complexity in each person’s character. No judging.
    Word had spread about all that God had done to protect Israelites and provide victory in taking over land He had promised to them, and how those against them had been destroyed. Rehab believed the victory and the destruction, and acknowledged that He was God of all. I love the strength of her faith in God, that she had heard of but didn’t yet know, and God’s mercy and grace that covered her all the way into the genealogy of Christ.
    BARB D – praying for the relationship between you and your daughters
    TRACI GENDRON – praying for your friend Jillian and her husband, for healing, and for support in their new location.
    Despite her past, she trusted her future to God. She wasnt condemned on her past but commended on her faith which changed her future forever!
    I don’t have to allow past fears to determine my bold and bright future God has for me. I will walk it out by faith!!
  35. Lanie H says:
    Wow. All I could see was Christ in this story today. “Your lives for our lives”, then she hides them for 3 days, followed by a Passover moment. So beautiful. I’ve always had distaste for that verse in James, bc I have thought what if I don’t have the faith or bravery to go against real danger like rahab did? But today I was reminded of all her other family members who were also saved by just coming into the house. Saying I believe you and I will go with you. That took faith too. And maybe some people are called to do the big acts of faith and others “big” act of faith is just to support them.
    1. Searching says:
      Good angle of thinking, thank you!
    2. Tami says:
  37. Becka says:
    “We experience the fullness of Christ’s peace when we shape our responses to suffering by what we know is true about God”.
    This is so true, and it prompted me to make a small list this morning of the things that I very much do know to be true about God.
    Truth – God is in control, even when things feel out of control. He is sovereign. Nothing happens without His permission, and He is working all things together for good.
    Truth – God is always with me. He will never leave me or forsake me.
    Truth – God is good, and everything He does is good, even if I can’t always see it from my perspective.
    Truth – Jesus suffered deeply, and he understands my pain. His suffering redeemed the world.
    Truth – Suffering is temporary, but the hope I have in Christ is eternal.
    Truth – Even in suffering, God is worthy of worship. He is still good, still faithful, and still sovereign, no matter my circumstances.
    I could go on and on, but the toddlers are calling ;).
    The song on my heart today is “Good Plans” by Red Rocks Worship. He has good plans for me, so I will take heart in deserts and gardens.
    Sweet she’s, would you pray for my family. We have been through many trials in our marriage and recently with hurricane Helene. We were finally beginning to feel more stable, to see healing in our marriage too. We have been bad with money and had recently made some changes and determined to start afresh with that. We were scammed out of almost every penny of our checking and savings. We are working with the bank but the money may be irretrievable. We had money set aside for taxes, to repair both of our vehicles and to fix our roof. We are standing in our faith that if we get back the money or not God will see us through. Will you pra
Please be near to her and her family. Please restore what is broken in her marriage. Bind up their wounds. Let not the stressors that are temporary destroy the work they’ve done to build a marriage. God, please help them build a stronger marriage through this. Help them submit to each other, in love and grace. Help them to see things through the lens of one another. Revive their love for each other. Let them have faith that You are with them and desire good for them and their family. Please give them wisdom and direction, day by day, as they sort through the stress of this financial situation. Give them hope and just like you did for Israel, would you do miracles for this family? Help them see You are fighting for them. They need only be still. (Exodus 14:14) and that you work all things together for the good of those whom you love and love you, Jesus (Romans 8:28). Be near to them and let them see even what the enemy has meant for evil, you will use for good (Genesis 50:20). Lord please bless our sister with peace, strength, grace, and guidance as she continues to trust in You and lean not on her own understanding. You will make her paths straight! (Proverbs 3:5) thank you Jesus. We are grateful! Amen.
  41. Vicki M says:
    Both the citizens of Jericho and Rahab were full of fear of God and His people. Joshua 2:10 “We have heard…” And yet each acted in their fear in different ways. The people of Jericho were consumed by their fear such that they couldn’t look beyond it to the mercy that was available. Rahab considered and found a way to conquer her fear. She set herself apart from her community – unbelieving and disobedient – to recognise the power and sovereignty of God. “… for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and earth below.” Joshua 2:11. Rahab chose to ask for mercy, recognising the saving power of God. Rahab was joined with the Israelites and became the great great grandmother of King David.
    I am reminded of my own journey of faith which began in fear. I’m so thankful that I chose God’s mercy and embraced the saving power of my precious Lord Jesus who brought me into His family.
    In all our various fears may we each turn to God with fullness of faith in His power to overcome and help us find a way through.
    1. Margaret W. says:
      Father, may I look to you and your mercies for the days ahead. May I learn to walk in faith rather than fear. And I have enough fear in my life that this is the perfect opportunity—whether I like it or not.
  42. Kelly (NEO) says:
    Rahab retold the Red Sea event that happened 40 years earlier and the more recent battle against Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings. She probably was not old (she later married and had at least 1 child), so the Red Sea event was told to her. She believed the report. Her faith was strengthened by the report of the two Amorite kings’ defeat. These were not her battles, yet she saw how the God of Israel moved on behalf of His people.
    .
    So when I am battling in obedience to what God has planned for me, it is an opportunity for those who do not know Him to see how He preserves me (not necessarily physically). He gets the glory for my battles, and others are drawn to Him, not admiration for me.
    BARB D – praying for your mama’s heart to be comforted by God’s peace. Praying your daughters’ hearts will soften.
    .
    TRACI GENDRON – praying for Jillian’s family as they navigate the husband’s cancer.
    1. Danielle B says:
      Thank you Kelly, for the reminder that as we battle obediently to God who is with us, it can be used to draw people to Him. We never know who is watching how we respond.
    2. Searching says:
      So good, KELLY, thank you! ❤️
    3. Barb D says:
      So good, Kelly, and thank you for your prayers! Your comments inspire me to compile a list of all of the ways God showed up and was faithful in my own life. It also reminds me to store up more recent stories of God’s faithfulness throughout history, like those of Corrie Ten Boom in WWII. These can help fuel the faith of God’s next “Rahab” in the days and years to come.
  43. Laura says:
    I love this line from the devo: We experience the fullness of Christ’s peace when we shape our responses to suffering by what we know is true about God.
    I am grateful to God for who He is, and that I can rest in that assurance. With all of the killing in these sections of the OT, I love the story of Rahab because it illustrates God’s mercy so clearly. He is not a God who just wants to wipe out everyone for no reason. He sees our hearts and shows us mercy when we don’t deserve it. But we have to want his mercy. We have to have faith and works. “Faith without works is dead.” I know that we humans often get bothered by these passages and it can seem as though God is a cruel God, but this story reminds us that He is not. He shows mercy to those who call out to Him and ask for mercy. And He protects His people from evil when they look to Him. But we need to have the right heart posture. Humility of ourselves and reverence for God. I feel at peace when I know that God sees my heart. I was in a work environment where I felt completely misunderstood by my boss and it was so hurtful to me. Someone not seeing your heart for what it really is tears you up inside. So I take so much comfort in knowing that God truly sees my heart and it makes me want to have a pure heart even more.
    1. Heather O'Malley says:
      That line of the devotional really struck me as well. Does what I know about God shape my responses to everything?
      1. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:
        Me as well – gave lots to ponder.
  44. Donna Mitchell says:
    When we honor God, He honors us. So we need to keep our eyes on the Lord, the Creator of everything. When we please Him, He is our protector, our healer, our freedom and our true leader. So remain faithful in your confessions of hope, since He who promised is faithful. Thank you Father, the one and only God. We honor you in Jesus Name! Amen.
  45. Tina says:
    Whomever you are.
    Whatever you have done.
    Wherever you’ve been.
    However you have lived.
    Whenever the choices you made, weren’t quite the correct ones.
    Wherever you have laid your hat.. (as the song goes)..
    No matter what you think is the worse case, and therefore, unforgivable..
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
    HE can still use you.
    HE can still see you.
    HE can still bless you!
    HE can still bring you peace.
    HE can still walk with you.
    HE can still comfort you, protect you..
    HE can still bring you hope..
    .
    I beg your pardon…, HE WILL STILL…., BRING YOU HOPE.!
    .
    This is our God..
    .
    AMEN..
    .
  46. Adrienne says:
    In Sunday School today, we were discussing the tenth plague and staryng in the house (versus being outside). The reading from the second chapter of Joshua (verse 19) reminded me of that.
    1. Kate K says:
      I was also reminded of the Exodus. Joshua 2:10 implies that rajah and the people knew that Israel’s God would win, but the king of Jericho did not surrender. Similarly, in Exodus 10:7, Pharaoh’s advisers told him Egypt was ruined and he should let the people go.
