Although Herod gladly listened to John the Baptist and protected him as well, he “had” to kill him because he made an oath *before his guests* – this speaks to us that we can pay a high price for our PRIDE and lose people that are dear to us!

And he could do no mighty work there… and he marveled because of their unbelief

Number 32: 5-right before Moses was about to send the next generation to conquer the promised land a few of the tribes asked to be given the land they were currently on instead…INSTEAD of the promised land. Number 32: 16-their request had good intentions to protect their “own” but was selfish in the big scheme of things. This was like a safety to fall back on in case the promised land didn’t work out. Do I allow my fear of the future, unbelief or even good desire for safety, keep me from the best that God has already guaranteed to me if I trust Him?

So good and SO true. I always have to remind myself that even though the situation I may be in isn’t ideal, He has a plan for me and to trust in Him
