  1. Savannah says:

Happy Easter everyone! May you be renewed in this season of new life

  2. Antimony says:

Psalm 42:11 “Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God”. Hoping in God … who He is … what He has done … etc. This, then, is the answer to despair?

  3. Jessee says:

Wow Tarnz that was some incredible insight! Thank you so much for that! I was also touched by this verse this morning. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God? I want God to be a NEED in my life, something I cannot live without having and I want to desire a closeness with him!

    1. Miranda O says:

      Amen!

  6. Shirl says:

    9 Even my close friend,
    someone I trusted,
    one who shared my bread,
has turned against me. Sometimes the people you love let you down. We are all broken people. May we display the love of Christ and give grace.

    1. Kimber Wood says:

I needed this today. A best friend since childhood hasn’t spoken to me in months when I’ve needed her most, and I’ve been so focused on it that it has killed me. Sometimes I just need to see that people change and it’s in God’s plan!

  7. Tarnz says:

This stood out to me today, so I studied for a bit.

“Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
    Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.”

For me I hear him questioning… Soul, how or what has caused you to move into a position/state of being dishearted, downcast, hopeless?
What are you doing here? This is not where you belong!

PUT YOUR HOPE [confident expectation rooted in faith] IN GOD!

The word ‘Put’ is deliberate, requires action, a shift or moving into or out of the current place, to a specific position or location in order to attain the desired outcome.

Move from this ‘valley of tears’, ‘bitter water’ despair and become enclosed or surrounded, immersed grafted back in God, his presence soul! [John 15 “remain in him and he will remain in you”]

Put your hope in our God, in his proven character as our provider, deliverer, protector, saviour, father, comforter, faithful, merciful, unchanging, wonderful counsellor, grace abounding, strength for the weary, our God who goes before us, patient, supreme wisdom, who loves us unconditionally…

David then declares “I WILL” which is to deliberately choose or decide upon a course of action from the current position and looking forward with vision

“YET” (under these conditions still continue with emphasised increase until a specified time)

“PRAISE HIM” or give thanks, honor, exaltation glory to God knowing his goodness, faithfulness and the bearing end result in mind.

My GOD, and My SAVIOUR. (One who saves from, harm, danger or failure)

I found depth and beauty from this prophetic declaration over his life and what we can do to be empowered in our own situation. 15 little words put together amidst a time of betrayal, abandonment, rejection etc.

Choose God, walk by faith, not by sight, conviction over emotion.
I know it isn’t always easy, but definitely doable.

    He Identified a problem,
Spoke to the cause… Our hope needs to be in God, not here!
    Then Declared.

    1. Shirl says:

      Amen sister

    10. AnnieB says:

  8. Yana says:

    Psalm 43
3 Send me your light and your faithful care,
    let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.

Our Father sent us His light in His son Jesus, our redeemer. Today we celebrate His rising, and our salvation. We have His light and His faithful care,
all we need to do is stay faithful and trusting till we reach the mountain where He dwells and we live forever with Him.
