I love to read the same passage from different Bible versions to give a slightly different perspective—this morning these verses from the Message were so encouraging to me:
“I run to You, God, I run for dear life… You’re my cave to hide in, my cliff to climb. Be my safe leader, my true mountain guide.”
A cave conjures the image of a place of safety, of shelter, a hideout when storms or danger comes. A safe place when the world rages.
A cliff brings to mind words like dizzying and awe-inspiring. We will never reach the end of the fullness of God—we will always have more cliff to climb and the higher we get, the more beautiful and awe-inspiring the view.
My true mountain guide is One who knows the path before I walk it. He has traveled it already and knows the highs and lows, the treacherous spots and the peaceful ones. A guide doesn’t go off and leave the adventurer on his or her own, the guide leads and gives wisdom or warnings along the path to keep the traveler safe. The one with the Guide doesn’t need to walk in fear or anxiety knowing that she has someone who is looking out for her.
So good to be reminded that God is each of these things—a Shelter, a Being we can always grow deeper into, and a Guide through life’s paths. That was encouraging to my heart today and I hope it is to yours as well.
Steadfast love surrounds the one who TRUSTS in the Lord– not the one who is perfect or the one who has it all figured out, but the one who TRUSTS God with her life. This is so encouraging to me! That I don’t have to have all the answers on how to live a Christian existence for His steadfast love to cover me, I just need to trust God with my life. Lord that I would trust you more each day, that all of us would live a life full of trusting YOU with our futures & hopes & dreams! You care!
7 I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.
8 You have not given me into the hands of the enemy
but have set my feet in a spacious place.

Good points! I never thought about
Good points. I’ve never thought about those verses, that in-depth before, but you’re right on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I haven’t been in touch with God lately, but today I have come back to him and I praise him forever ❤️

Yes! Love this.
Thank you Lord for your unfailing, faithful love! Thank you for finding favor on me! You alone deserve all the glory, honor, and praise!
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord!
I wish they set this up so the psalms would still be on Sunday’s. It seems like that would be easy to do.
