On this day of my birth, I will pray and vow to work harder on etching the words of God on my heart and doing as the word says. Not just reading but also putting the teachings to action for the glory of God.

it’s so easy for us to encourage others but when it comes to ourselves we tend to forget what we should do. we see that in job and his friend said ““In the past you have encouraged many people; you have strengthened those who were weak. Your words have supported those who were falling; you encouraged those with shaky knees. But now when trouble strikes, you lose heart. You are terrified when it touches you.”
Job 4:3-5 NLT
his friend had to remind him of what he’s told others.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. – James 1:27

I like that this scripture in James breaks down the idea of “real religion”. I’d never read that passage before I don’t think.
