As someone who has chronic pain this really is comforting and gives me something to reach to in the bible that will comfort me.

I love how Job and James tend to line up here today! It shows an unchanging, steadfast God who wants us to love Him and cling to Him through it all. Such a good self-check as well!

It was eye opening when reading Job, realizing the lies that seep into my thoughts constantly. Trying to tempt me with my pride and selfishness. It was a reminder to pray for the killing of my inwardly focused self daily. Allowing me to center my life completely on the all-powerful, all-knowing God I get to call my father! ❤️

11For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

This verse is so convicting! It’s so easy as believers in the West to get wrapped up in our comforts and pursuits of happiness in this world. Yet God’s word reminds us here that if we lose sight of what is most important, being on His mission, our lives will wilt so quickly with no lasting impact! If we follow after our comforts, for we are rich compared to the world, we will quickly fade away! May God be gracious to tether our hearts to Him so that we remember what we are to be about!
