today’s reading has such wonderful messages. remember your creator whilst you’re young. we often as young women follow culture, trying to build up our lives and future. but here we are encouraged to sew, and then leave God to do the growing. we are reminded to live in the small present, as young, beautiful women, with no control. for God has control. so live in the present, thank God for now and give what you can. God does the rest.
My devotional reading today was based on Ecclesiastes 10:1 also, pointing out that any type of wrongdoing in our lives is a stench that can turn others away from Christ. Lord, help me to be aware of when I start to”stink” and be willing to allow you to correct my life to better reflect you.
Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the iron is blunt, and one does not sharpen the edge,
he must use more strength,
but wisdom helps one to succeed.
Strength comes in handy sometimes, but sharpening the mind is key to being wise through Him! I love personal development now more than ever. I’ve learned it’s okay to be an audible listener and visual learner – we each take in information in our best ways differently – as long as we continue to learn and grow is all that matters!
“For man is headed to his eternal home, and mourners will walk around in the street before the silver cord is snapped,
and the gold bowl is broken,
and the jar is shattered at the spring,
and the wheel is broken into the well;
and the dust returns to the earth as it once was,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
“Absolute futility,” says the Teacher. “Everything is futile.”
Ecclesiastes 10:1 Dead flies make the perfumer’s ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. —-So many good messages in today’s reading but this one stood out right away. How true is this of us as Christians? How often are we the fly in God’s perfume and because we acted inappropriately have lost a soul or souls to salvation. Due to the “stench” of our lack of Christian thought, words or actions we have portrayed Christianity as something undesirable rather than as the beautiful aroma of grace and salvation it is. Many times through the day I find myself stopping to evaluate myself and every time praying for redirection and strength. I want to be His “perfume” .

I agree! Verse 10 stood out to me as well
