Sisters in Christ, please be in prayer for my friend Melissa’s daughter, Savannah. They found a large tumour in her brain last night. She’s just 8 years old. She will see more doctors and likely many more tests today. Please pray for her, her parents and family, and her doctors. And for me to have the right words to say to them as they don’t know our Lord or have his great hope and comfort.

    1. Briton says:

Praying for Savannah and Melissa and the rest of their family. And for you as a supporter! Be strong, we have a God of miracles!

    2. Kylee says:

Praying for Savannah and her family and their friend (YOU!) today, HeatherMarie!!!

    3. Chelsea says:

Praying for her and wisdom for the doctors. Praying for strength and peace for all involved. God can do amazing things through adversity.

    4. Linnea Constant says:

Three years later praying for Savannah and her family

6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
My husband and I became believers together after the birth of our first child. We are in a wonderful church family that has blessed us and supported our growth in the faith of Christ since the beginning. This verse is dear to my heart as we raise our children to know and love the Lord our Savior.

  3. Jessee says:

Proverbs 22:3 The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.

This is a verse I have had memorized since the 9th grade. It was shown to me by the Holy Spirit in a time that I really needed guidance and I made a very difficult decision based on this verse. God is so good about giving us what we need when we need it!

    1. Amanda says:

Jesse, I am trying to live this in my daily life, just trying to be open to the Lords call and trust that he will always provide, even if it’s just needing words to say!

  4. Jenny R says:

Pro 22:29 stuck out at me today. “Do you see a man skillful at his work? He will stand before kings, he will not stand before obscure men.”
This really reminded me of the This is the Gospel day 12 lesson’s MLK Jr quote, as well as “in all that you do, do as unto the Lord”.
When I am skillful, I am noticed and brought high – not as a work of plotting and self promotion, but as a condition of the quality of my work and heart that goes into it. Glad to remember that God established us and brings us high, when we are in the right context. There are no shortcuts to skillfulness, even when given natural ability, and there are no shortcuts to doing what we consider the Big Jobs for Him.

Also, when I get behind and catch back up, it feels really good. What an amazing blessing it is to read the Bible through like this.

    1. Ariadne says:

      Amen!!

  5. Elizabeth says:

Can I just say I absolutely love Paul? His whole story and life and everything are just really amazing.

      1. Jessee says:

I agree! I read Beth Moore’s book about him To Live Is Christ and it was awesome!

        1. Elizabeth says:

I have to check that out!

  6. Leah Swindon says:

Acts 9:31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

I love this…the second part it the verse really stood out to me. The ESV version says “comforted by the Holy Spirit,” but I just needed that remind that if our hearts are focused on remembering how awesome God is..not making him small in our hearts and prayers..and if we let the Holy Spirit move in us, comfort us and encourage us, the church will and can still grow, as it did in the days of Acts.

    1. Ahlaischa says:

      Amen sister!

    2. Alysa says:

I love the message version too. “They were permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God. The Holy Spirit was with them, strengthening them. They prospered wonderfully.”

      1. Jennifer says:

yes, this popped out at me too in the MSG version ‘permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God’ – oh, that we may all be!

    3. Zoe says:

I agree! I am planning to share this with my homegroup – what a fantastic verse to spur us on with renewed focus!

  7. Terri-Kate says:

23Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

The struggle is real here sometimes! My God is a forgiving God, but are my family and friends as patient with me? I cannot cause harm if I keep my mouth shut. I needed this reminder today.

  8. Katrina P says:

Proverbs 22:31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
but the victory belongs to the Lord. – amen!

    1. Yes, amen! That stood out to me, too. A beautiful reminder that everything we accomplish, is a demonstration of his glory.
