  2. Bre says:

Good morning beautiful ladies. Would you please pray for my family? My cousin passed away last night in a horrible car accident. He and his girlfriend just found out that they were having a baby as well, so I ask that you pray for her and his baby.

    1. Praying for you and your family now, Bre. Trusting that God will be near in your heartbreak and present in your grief. So much love to you, sister. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to pray.

      xoxo-Kaitlin

16 Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult.
To me this is a great and humbling reminder to gracefully not be affected by others’ opinions of me. How easy it is to become ruffled by someone else’s opinions, and especially insults! And who wants to be insulted? In fact, I would rather have everyone like me all the time and only ever have good things to say concerning me! Every time I was deeply concerned with what someone said about me, my mom would say “you have to just let it roll off your back like water off a duck’s back.” Lord help me be prudent to overlook insults and opinions. Keep my eyes focused solely on you and give me greater Godly wisdom than I have known.

Thank you! I also noticed this same verse and it helps to know that there are others out there feeling the exact same way that I do. I pray that the Lord gives you strength and peace whenever someone is trying to disrupt your walk with Him.

The verse that stands out to me today is Proverbs 12:9 “Better to be dishonored, yet have a servant, than to act important but have no food.”
As my husband and I try to get out of debt before buying a house, and as we stick to a strict budget that means saying no to a lot of things that our neighbors and friends are doing, we trust in the word of the Lord. I don’t want to live our lives on borrowed money just so we can “act important.” I want to be seen for what I am, even if people dishonor us, so that we can save and work to earn our home and our possessions.

      great insight!!!

    2. Andrea says:

I read this scripture and wanted more insight so I’m so blessed by your insight Shannon. I’m a student and will have a large debt to pay after graduation. I am overwhelmed with what I will have to face, but I found comfort in your story and the discipline you are practicing. Thank you

The ideals of honesty are the same no matter how great or how small. When we are dishonest to temporarily please our worldly desires the Lord knows our hearts and will justly take away and give to those that diligently follow Him.

There is just so much good instruction in Proverbs! Hard to take it all in.

I agree Suzanne…each verse brings a lot to think about!

  7. Elisha says:

I love Stephen’s sermon. it’s such a great summation of the salvation story.

  8. Alexis C. says:

Proverbs 11:25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. ——Our directive to share The Lord’s Word.

    1. Sandy says:

I never thought of it like that, so true!

    2. Katrina P says:

I was going to recap the same verse! Tis better to give than to receive and share Gods love – amen!
