“When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (Jn 19:30). It is finished. Nothing more is needed. He accomplished my redemption on the cross. I cannot add anything to what He was completed.
Things don’t always make sense according to our human logic, but they always make sense according to his word. I’m grateful for a God who knows all, and knows what is best. Clinging to this sentiment today as I grieve for my Great Aunt who passed tonight.
Though many of us know this story very well, it’s still so hard to read and made me emotional this morning. There’s truly no greater love.
