    The words “It is finished.” Are translated from the word tetelesti. Another translation is “Paid in full.” They used this term when someone paid off a debt. Jesus paid all our debts that day.

    “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (Jn 19:30). It is finished. Nothing more is needed. He accomplished my redemption on the cross. I cannot add anything to what He was completed.

    Things don’t always make sense according to our human logic, but they always make sense according to his word. I’m grateful for a God who knows all, and knows what is best. Clinging to this sentiment today as I grieve for my Great Aunt who passed tonight.
