“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison” (39:21). The faithful love of God … what a theme to dwell on. Even in the midst of sorrow, His love remains ever present, ever sure.

  2. Jamie Chapman says:

Seeing the common theme is God is with us in both these passages. Thru all the trials God was with Joseph and Jesus says I am always with you.

  3. Kristin Beck says:

“We have overcome, We are purified, Hidden in the sounds of Christ, He has paid the price, He has brought us near, To behold the Glory if the Lord” -We have Overcome by rivers and robots

I do love John 16:33 and it has been a favorite of mine for the past few years. We WILL have tribulation, but we can take heart, take comfort in the fact that Jesus has already overcome the world. We lost our baby 2 years ago, she was stillborn at 37 weeks and this was the verse that stuck to me like glue. And I had peace and joy through it all!

    1. Anna Pease says:

This is so cool to hear. Not that you lost your baby as I can’t imagine what that would be like but for you to be able to have joy through the sorrow.

He really did replace your mourning for dancing and your sorrow into joy!

  5. Amy Beth says:

This is one of those verses you hang onto for dear life… “ I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

  6. E Hong says:

24 “Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” amen !! -ellie

  7. Alexa H says:

So encouraging to see a man in the Old Testament like Joseph be strong willed and flee from temptation instead of being passive. And loved seeing the Lords favor be with him no matter where he was, in high honor or in prison.
