I find it so interesting that the people of Judah (and Israel) had strayed so far from the ways of the Lord that they didn’t even know where the Book of the Law was or what was in the book. Josiah has the proper response upon hearing the words of the law. May we keep the words of Jesus close to our hearts and mind.

  3. Mary BethBenson says:

I love how it says the people were “hanging on his every word.” Jesus was unlike any other teacher that the Jews had seen, but we see the Pharisee’s threatened and murderous rage against Him. They hung on to the traditions of man and their position as the “keepers of the law”—so blinded by religion. Let us be like the people who hung on Jesus’ every word: throwing off the cloak of religion and running to Jesus understanding our deepest need for Him!

For some reason the reading today got me thinking about how seen and loved I am by god. Giving myself love or feeling deserving of it is something I struggle with, though I give it to others very easily. I know God, the same god who was over those kings in chronicles, sees and loves me just as I am!

  5. Sharon Ide says:

At the triumphal entry, the disciples rejoiced in the Lord, recognizing him as the King, the Messiah who came to fulfill the peace and glory promised of old. This truth that all nature recognizes, is hidden from the eyes of Jerusalem, because of their hatred of truth and love for the things of darkness. Oh Lord, would you clear our own blind and forgetful eyes to regard you as the glorious promised Messiah.

  6. E Hong says:

37As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, -ellie
