  1. Lauren Bourgeois says:

    My prayer today, is that we as The Bride continue seeking His heart through every human experience. That we lay down all of our time and affection at His feet. Through sickness and health, may our affection always be set on Him. It’s so easy to get distracted by the things of this world, and often times, I’m embarrassed to bring such human needs and concerns before Him, but how blessed are we that our God cares for us enough to reach out and provide for us, no matter the need! That He came to Earth, experienced it humanity, and knows exactly what we are going through. What a beautiful King we serve, may we never lose sight of how blessed we are to know His perfect name, thank you Jesus!!

  2. Your genuine desire for Jesus alone is breathtaking, Kristin. What a powerful reminder to us all to lay down our idols and fix our eyes on the Giver of Himself. Nothing nourishes my soul or fulfills the deep longings like the Lord does. Why do I let certain things (the desire for the receiving of something or the removal of a thing) ever take precedence over the abundance of His presence? So often I think we are like little children, looking expectantly to the Father for the presents He will give, not just delighting in His presence. His In His Word our gracious God promises to lead His children to a place of abundance, and though I think this is mostly referring to our eternal forever Home, i also see that He does this in our own lives this side of Heaven so often too. Praying along with you, sweet sister, that in the pure and flawless timing if the Creator, your legacy in Christ Jesus will be passed down to your little loves as they go on to make disciples. From another sister who has miscarried, and has given birth to our sons by God’s grace, I’m reminded of 2Corinthians1, where it refers to comforting one another with the same comfort we received: CHRIST. Always. “Sing the glory of His name, Give him glorious praise….say to God ‘how awesome are your deeds…” Psalm66

  3. Penny says:

    Just wondering if anyone can answer this question for me. What do you think it means when it says: in psalm 66 v20 Blessed be God,
    because he has not rejected my prayer
    or removed his steadfast love from me!
    Obviously we can’t bless God ourselves as all things come from him and he controls all things- so what would the blessed really mean- or what would be a similar word?

    1. Camille says:

      When we say blessed it’s a way of saying how awesome is our God, He is wonderful. It’s not a we’re able to bless God but it’s more of a “we worship and praise His name.”

  4. Kristin says:

    Thank you everyone :)

  5. Kristin says:

    My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for the past 6 months. 3 months ago, I had a miscarrage. Sometimes ( a lot of times actually.. most of the time) I get completely consumed with getting pregnant again and think that’s where all my happiness and joy will come from. I think I’ll feel complete and satisfied when I’m pregnant. Which, theres nothing wrong with that desire and wanting to have a baby… but there is when you’re consumed with it more than Jesus. The One who will ONLY completely satisfy me.

    18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,
    the Lord would not have listened;
    19 but God has surely listened
    and has heard my prayer.
    20 Praise be to God,
    who has not rejected my prayer
    or withheld his love from me!

    Lord, take this cherished sin of this form of idolism from me. Help me to focus on You, growing in you and pulling happiness and my worth only from You. Thank you for challenging me and making me realize where I need to grow in before we have a baby. Take my worth and happiness off of getting pregnant again and help me to point that energy all to you so I can be an even better mom when that time comes. So you can hear my prayer

    1. Jen Winter says:

      Praying this morning for you and your husband. May we all find joy and complete satisfaction in Him and Him alone. Praying specifically that you are abundantly blessed with children, and for patience and hope in the meantime.

    2. Leah Swindon says:

      Your faith and perspective are so inspiring. May God grant you the desires of your heart. Thanks for sharing with us..

    3. Adrianna Ford says:

      Wow, thank you so much for sharing. I am so humbled by your display of faith. Most women would be so angry and bitter at God right now but you are continuing to cry out to Him and follow Him. You are such a blessing.

    4. Christina D. says:

      Kristin, such encouraging words of wisdom and humility. Lord thank you for Kristin’s honest and humble heart that is seeking after You. Your word says you bring us to a place of abundance and I ask that she would get pregnant in Your perfect timing.

    5. Shayelynn Prather says:

      I think we take the gifts God has given us for granted so often and it becomes hard to see that those gifts or those ideas or things become more important than God and reading this made me realize that I am doing that with school and I will keep you in my prayers but thank you this opened my eyes to the idea of God’s timing not my timing

    6. Shannon Roe says:

      Kristen, praying today that you will feel the abundance of His presence and know His deep love for you. As a woman who experienced two miscarriages, I know that the pain can be so hard – especially when a child is so desired and the hopes and expectations are so high. My home is now very full of little hands, and I am grateful. But I never want to forget the hurt of that season and the questions I asked and most importantly – the nearness of God in my broken-hearted state. Blessings to you, and may He bless your home in every good and perfect way.

    7. Heather says:

      Prayed for you just now, Kristin! My husband and I have been waiting for 15 years, and I have realized time and again just as you have- pregnancy, children- they are a beautiful gift, a desire that is natural for us as women and mothers at heart; but nothing surpasses the sufficiency of Jesus in my life. He Himself is the fulfillment of my every desire. Praying this day finds you filled with peace only The spirit can give, seeking refuge in Jesus.

    8. Angelyn says:

      Kristin, your honest is beautiful. I, too, become consumed with things that I think will satisfy me. I have to continue to remind myself that only Christ can fill me. Thank you for sharing your struggles in this same area. I am so thankful that we can bear each other’s burdens here.

  6. Staceysnyder says:

    4 All the earth worships you
    and sings praises to you;
    they sing praises to your name.”
    I’m sitting on my back porch reading this and the birds are singing their hearts out, singing praises. Such an appropriate verse for a beautiful Sunday morning!

    1. KClaire says:

      Me too!

    2. Katie says:

      Me too! He is such a beautiful and awesome God.

  7. Becky says:

    ” For you, God, tested us;
    you refined us like silver.
    You brought us into prison
    and laid burdens on our backs.
    You let people ride over our heads;
    we went through fire and water,
    but you brought us to a place of abundance.” These verses made me think of so many times in my life in which God “laid burdens on my back.” I don’t know if I’m understanding the phrase correctly, but there have even been times I felt that people were “riding over my head.” I have been through “fire and water,” but I can surely say with this psalm writer that he always brings me back to a place of abundance.

    1. Christina D. says:

      This passage really stuck out to me too Becky. Such an encouraging passage.
