18And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
-
17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

5Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,

Where it says the written law kills and it lead to death, how? What am I missing??

Here is how I understand it: Moses was given the law that, if followed perfectly, would make them holy, but no one was ever going to be able to do that because we are all sinners and it’s impossible for us to make ourselves holy before God. Thus, if you are counting on only the law to make you right before God, it never will and you’ll die. But Christ came to fulfill the law for us, because we never could. So depending on the law to make yourself holy will only lead to death, but depending on Jesus will lead to eternal life because he fulfilled the law on our behalf and we are made holy because of him.

Amen, and further clarification is that it doesn’t mean that the law is bad, in fact, Jesus Himself said that He did not come to change the law but to complete it. The Law alone is simply not enough. His grace is enough:)

I love the verse, “since we have such hope (about the glory of the Lord that is coming) we are very bold.” I don’t think of myself as a very bold person, and it’s affirming to know that 1) i can be bold because of what God has done for me 2) i am bold just by trying to live my life in complete surrender to and trust in God
