  1. Lauren Garza says:

Do not be afraid. He planned it. He rescues and defends. Trust Him. He alone. Lord our God. He hears and sees. He does what is promised. His love delivers. Follow His advice. Do not be afraid. Sin flees. It’s okay.

17 Behold, it was for my welfare
    that I had great bitterness;
but in love you have delivered my life
    from the pit of destruction,
for you have cast all my sins
behind your back. – Isaiah 38:17

  7. Carol Bowman says:

Paul tells them God will save them but they will be shipwrecked – our path is not always easy but God is working through it all

  8. Sarah Johnson says:

It’s amazing how Hezekiah goes from broken, almost dead, on his knees before the Lord, to living and full of life with the Lord’s help. This story shows, among many other things, the power of talking to God and asking him for things/about your problems

  9. Sharon Ide says:

God promises a remnant out of Israel, and it is His zeal that will accomplish this. Praise Him who is steadfast and zealous to compassion.

  10. E Hong says:

20So now, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone are the Lord.”

  11. Laura Lee Parker says:

God keeps promises. No matter what❤️

  12. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

    20The Lord will save me,
and we will play my music on stringed instruments
all the days of our lives,
at the house of the Lord.

I loved reading the boldness of Hezekiah! We don’t need to be afraid to ask God for things.. he racked on 15 years to Hezekiahs life! Haha DANG! I want to be in that place of intimacy and friendship with God to ask him those sorts of requests and talk to Him about that stuff. I’m also encouraged about how Paul says an angel of the Lord visited him on the boat and told Him a promise from the Lord(that Paul needs to stand before Caesar) so God promises Paul that His will WOULD come to pass and the other men on the boat were in God’s favor because they were traveling with Paul. That stuck out to me!

  14. Kristyn Ricketts says:

I love that god can make promises to us through scripture!

  15. Meredith says:

I love that Hezekiah laid the letter out before the Lord. For years, I subconsciously prayed about material needs mainly; but recently, it’s really hit me that I can discuss everything with the Lord–things that bother me, things that I enjoy, things that make me wonder but I don’t even know how what to pray…the letter makes me think of Hezekiah and the Lord just being good friends and hashing out life together. I love that relationship.

There are some fascinating points in time here but I do not know if I see these people center to heart. You can find some validity but I most certainly will take hold opinion until I take a look at it further. Great write-up , thanks therefore we want a lot more! Put into FeedBurner too

Encouraged so deeply by the reading from Isaiah! He is faithful to bring to fruition what he has promised. He is worthy of our trust and our lives. Even in illness, he rested on the promises of God: Isaiah 38:17 “in your love you kept me from the out of destruction; you have out all my sins behind your back”…..38:20 “the Lord will save me and we we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the Lord.”

    1. Bella Mokeba says:

I meant hezekiah! My keyboard is not cooperating today haha

  18. Suzanne says:

My takeaway from Isaiah today is that I should remember first, every day, to thank God for his love and mercy and blessing before I ever start to pray about my circumstances.

  19. Laura says:

14 Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers, read it, then went up to the Lord’s temple and spread it out before the Lord.
So wise of him to go to the only One who can do anything! He understood where his help comes from and gave it to the Lord right away. And the Lord came through in a mighty way! And He did for Himself and for David…I thought that was interesting.

  20. Katie R says:

I’m so amazed at the power of Hezekiah’s prayer in Isaiah 38! Such a good reminder to pray boldly today!

  21. Katrina P says:

I agree that Acts is such a great read! I’m learning this week that TRUST and PRAYER are what lead us to let God into our hearts and to handle our lives much better than we could ourselves.

  22. Danielle says:

What an amazingly beautiful heart of praise and thanksgiving Hezekiah had after God healed him. To think that God chose to preserve such a heart in his word! I can live by that example.

  23. Caroline says:

I am learning so much in Acts. I never really paid much attention to this book before.

    1. mce says:

Me either. How cool the angel even points out these sailors are being saved because of the call put on Paul’s life.

      1. Julia says:

Have you ever read a voice in the wind by francine rivers? If you have, then you may recognize this mentioned in the book. It’s super cool!

        1. Julia says:

Actually, it’s in the second book of the Mark of the Lion series
