Can we let you in on a little secret? We miss you.
Perhaps I should explain.
Writing and leading SheReadsTruth is a joy, one that continues to change our hearts in beautiful and amazing ways. But sometimes, if we’re honest, we miss reading along with you.
We read the daily plans with you, yes. But by the time those words get to your screen, they are ones we’ve sat with and ruminated over for weeks. This is not a bad thing, it’s just different. We miss encountering scripture anew with you, arriving afresh to truths our hearts have never learned or have forgotten along the way. We miss reading the Word together, not as writers and readers but as sisters growing together in the Lord.
For the next three weeks, the SheReadsTruth community will be studying through a 21-day excerpt from Zondervan’s NIV Once-a-Day Promises Devotional. You can find the plan in YouVersion by clicking {here}. (We’ll also have links at the beginning of each daily post.)
Beginning tomorrow, we will be here on the site each day to respond to the daily reading and discuss what we’re learning. Will you join us? We cannot wait to dig into this plan with you.
And after the Promises plan? Get ready for a 23-day journey through the New Testament book of James! This book has knocked our socks off the last few weeks and we look forward to reintroducing you to the encouraging, challenging and often blunt words of our New Testament brother.
Can you tell we’re excited? We hope you are, too.
See you girls here tomorrow as we dive into the Promises!

Looking forward to BOTH! Great choices! Thanks SRT! Can't wait for James and already getting You Version of Zondervan's Promises so I'm ahead (not by choice) but LOVE this one!
Blessings Amanda and glad that this will give you all (SRT team) a chance to breathe and comment along with us cuz we miss you and I totally understand from blogging that when you write ahead, you somehow miss the sharing! I so appreciate you and the rest here at SRT!
Peace in Christ,
Peggy
Started the plan on YouVersion! Looking forward to this!! :)
Fall/Autumn is here and it’s my favorite time of year. I understand that lots of things go on behind the scenes to make these studies possible that you all have already gone through the study to prepare it for us. I think you all may have done this before, reading along with us for previous studies, and now I can be apart of it. My husband and I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary in the last few days left in the Promises devotional. Please keep my husband, our daughter, and I in your prayers. I’m excited about reading the book of James, too.
I'm so very excited for both studies. I pray for you ladies because we understand that maintaining this site requires work and I know I speak for us all in saying we truly appreciate this ministry!!!!!
God bless you all!
I'm excited to learn more about promises God has made to us in His word; that's a subject that I need a lot of help with. I'm looking forward to James, too. The women's group at my church has been doing the Beth Moore study on James, and it has been blowing my mind. James is definitely becoming one of my favorite books of the Bible. :)
Thank you to everyone who works so hard at SRT to bring us these studies. I'm thrilled to be learning along with all of you!
You girls are so awesome. Thanks to each of you for all you do and share so that we csn grow together. I love the book of James too. I am lifting up each request.
I can't wait to read alongside the SRT ladies again, just like the "old days!"
Also, extremely excited about James!
Very much looking forward to the book of James. It will be very nice to be in ` the same boat` with you ladies A real pleasure! Thank you so very much for all you do….the preparations, the devotions and just really all of this, where we can be….
God bless us all as we delve. Learn and share together these next couple of weeks. X
I am very excited about reading James! I can't wait!
Glad to see everyone getting back on track! I’ve been behind and really feel such a big hole in my life when I’ve been away from SRT! I’ve been trying to catch up and “cram” too and I just don’t gain nearly as much without all of you wonderful women and your insights. Glad our amazing writers are taking a much deserved “break” and will be alongside us for this study.
Blessings to all of you!
Wishing you a speedy recovery Carolyn ♥
I got behind reading Daniel, then further behind, then tried to cram… now I think I'll just start over with this new plan. After a hard & painful summer, I think I tried to rally myself to "get back to normal" with a little too much force and resulted in the opposite happening. I'm so glad today is the first day of Fall and I'm looking forward to this new plan with you ladies.
Haha. i JUST THOUGHT THAT IT WAS SO FUNNY!. I asked the Lord last night what book of the NT should I read? I felt like I heard him say James. Haha. Confirmation my friends. I love it.
Excellent!! Looking forward to both.
I have a prayer request for y’all. I just got a phone call and my second cousin’s sweet wife, Ava, was just put in hospice care at home. She’s had emphysema for years. She’s down to 65 lbs. Both she and Doug love The Lord and are some of the most wonderful people imaginable. Please pray for her comfort and for that of the family. They have two grown kids in their 40s. No grand kids. Doug has had several heart attacks so I’m concerned about the stress on him too. Thank you all for holding these saints up in prayer.
Praying for you Carolyn…May Jehovah Rapha continue to heal your body; His timing is best. Looking forward to the new studies!
Aw!! I'm so excited!!!
So excited for the things to come. What a way to prepare our hearts for the sometimes frantic holiday season but by meditating on God’s promises!
I am so glad we are going to dig through God’s promises! The last while I have been wrestling with His promises and how to interpret some of them. (I.e. which ones are fulfilled spiritually and which ones physically and to whom they are written). Thanks for reading with us SRT leaders!:)
God Morning Sistas
I am equally excited to join the women of SRT in another daily devo…don’t know much about James so that makes it even more exciting. Can’t wait…See ya in the A.M.
Oh, Dea, you’ll learn James backwards and forwards! :). Excited to dig in alongside of you!
Looking forward to starting the new plans! Have a great weekend SRT Ladies!
You too, Niki!
I missed most of Daniel, although I think I will do it but I miss having done it together with the group. I had surgery and alas did not recover as quickly as I planned. Just could not get my mind working and even my prayer life suffered, but thankfully others stoodin the gap for me. I am excited to read and study and contemplate God's promises together and hope to again participate fully with this group of women I have come to love so much.
I also post as Carolynmimi…intense debate.
Prayers for your continued recovery! We are so happy to have you join us in studying God’s promises.
Oh Carolyn!! I have missed you so!! I've been worried about you and your recovery! Praying for you, sister!! So glad to see you back! Love you!!
I'm so sorry to hear that your recovery has been a challenge, Carolyn! I missed most of Daniel also. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and also reading your insightful comments. I hope today is a good one for you!
JAMES!!!!! Yay!! I am so very excited about both of these studies! I cannot wait!
They are going to be great–we are very excited too!
Both sound great! I look forward to digging into the promises along with you! I was excited since last night to come on here this morning and see what is next! Have a blessed day of worship sisters!
We love that enthusiasm! Hope you have a wonderful day too, Melinda!
