Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

Daniel 4:34

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

Over the course of this study, we have been memorizing Daniel 4:34. This week, commit the entirety of it to memory.

For his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and his kingdom is from generation to generation.
—Daniel 4:34

  4. Hali Moro says:

If you’re like me and love the devotional, the first one is typically in the book:

“As someone who has spent a lot of time in hospitals with loved ones over the years, I’m convinced that the field of medicine is as much art as it is science. There are volumes of facts and formulas involved, to be sure, but there is more than a little intuition and creativity as well. This is what I’ve come to love most about my favorite doctors and nurses: They approach their work with a nuance that cannot be taught in a textbook, a respect for the well-studied yet ever mysterious creation that is the human body.
I’m reminded of my medical friends when I read the Gospel of Luke, whose author and namesake was a Gentile physician and first-century follower of Jesus. While all four Gospel accounts offer a perspective on the life and ministry of Jesus, one of the unique elements of Luke’s is that he focused heavily on Jesus’s humanity. With both conviction and awe, the physician presented the tangible reality and glorious mystery that the eternal Son of God became incarnate in the person of Jesus.
In Jesus Christ, God took on our humanity so that we could be reconciled to Him, adopted by Him, and welcomed into His presence forever.
As Bible readers, we have the privilege of witnessing this inbreaking of God’s kingdom on earth through Luke’s detail-oriented account of Jesus’s life, from His birth all the way to His ascension. It’s Luke who described how John the Baptist leapt in Elizabeth’s womb in the presence of Mary and the yet-to-be born baby Jesus. It’s Luke who gave us the most extensive and beloved narrative of Jesus’s humble birth and who described Christ’s agony in Gethsemane with the gut-wrenching descriptor that His sweat “was like drops of blood” (Luke 22:44). It’s Luke who described the risen Jesus being carried into heaven -not in theory but in actual physical reality (Luke 24:51).
Did you know that Luke also gave us more than fifteen parables not recorded elsewhere? As the longest book in the New Testament, more than one-third of the content in Luke’s Gospel is not found in the other three (more on this in the introduction on page 12 and the “Parables Unique to Luke” extra on page
112). All along the way, Luke highlighted Jesus’s intentional pursuit of those marginalized by society, not shrinking away from humanity but embracing and redeeming it (see “Jesus and Marginalized Groups” on page 58).
As you approach this unique book of the Bible, I pray you’ll read Luke with a soft heart and an open mind. Allow the physician to direct your gaze to the incarnate Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you hear the drumbeat that echoes through each of these twenty-four chapters: “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). Praise God for this good news!”

  6. Searching says:

    Luke 1:77-79
    .
77 “To give knowledge of salvation to His people
By the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God,
With which the Dayspring (Messiah) from on high has visited us;
79 To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.”
    .
As believers in God and having accepted the precious gift of salvation made possible through Christ’s sacrifice, we also need to spread the news to those who are lost.
    .
    Praying for requests and needs.

I zipped across to Hevreads truth, theirs is still on weekly truth.
My email tells me we are on Luke, so I thought I’d read along with that and comment here, only to find though the heading is Luke, its still on weekly truth..
Glitches happen, so I shall take this opportunity to pray your day is covered in His grace, that your hearts are filled with the truth of who you are in Him, that as you step out into your day, whatever it may look like you carry grace and love, knowing God us with you.
Praising and thanking God for this new day, and as I watch the sun rise, grateful for the splendour of His Majesty and love..
    .
Much love to all.. Happy Monday, beautiful Shes..❤️

That’s what’s still up as of going on 5 am EST in the US. I’m disappointed as I was looking forward to getting stated with Luke with you all this morning. I will read chapter 1 and come back this evening after work to see how things are going. Seems there are lots of web glitches of late – we need to pray for the SRT team!

      Blessings on your Monday, Ladies!

Happy Monday to you as well!❤️❤️❤️

  10. Donna says:

I’ve been doing this bible study for several years and I’m so grateful for the lessons! The way that the scripture is explained and broken down to life’s application.
Lately I’ve been reading more of the comments from followers of the study. I’ve grown to appreciate them, especially when sisters are able to share knowledge from a deeper dive into the word because this isn’t a strength of mine. I can get lost in opinions and politics, but I need to remember that our God is almighty and doesn’t need my help. He’s got it and I just need to follow Him. I don’t know how others feel, but I just have to keep it very simple. Follow Him, slow to speak and quick to listen. Ready to serve while putting others above myself.

    1. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

    2. Tina says:

      Hey Donna.. ❤️

  11. Ellie Hines says:

Daniel 4:34 is a great reminder that we can lift our eyes toward heaven and God will give us our understanding back to us and we shall bless the Most High and He will be praised and honored because He lives forever and He is the one who brought us out of heel when we could not do it ourselves. God’s Kingdom is from this generation to the next generation.

  12. Rhonda J says:

    What’s our new study tomorrow?!

    1. B says:

      Is it Luke??

      1. Searching says:

Yes, LUKE. Not up as of now on website. Read Luke 1 and also 1 Samuel 2:10.

  13. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

My daughter, Amanda, had her three months check up with the oncologist this week. Everything continues to go well. The meds she’s on are keeping the cancer away, but they are brutal. All of her bloodwork is abnormal, which is what they expect. She is anemic, so she’s tired all the time. She is such a determined woman that she continues to push through the tiredness and keeps up with a demanding job and running her kids to all their activities. One of the meds makes her bones hurt, especially her knees, yet she keeps up with long walks and exercises every day. I’m so proud of her. But I sure wish she wasn’t having to go through all this.

One of the concerns following her surgeries was the possibility of lymphodema since all the lymph nodes in her left arm were removed. She wears a compression sleeve, goes for physical therapy and lymphatic massage. Yesterday, I saw that she was wearing a compression glove, and asked about it. She doesn’t have lymphodema in her arm, but it has been showing up in her hand and fingers. She can’t wear her wedding ring on that hand anymore. Amanda is left handed.

I’m her mom. And this whole journey has been difficult for me. Amanda is a naturally private person, and I usually discover what’s going on with her treatment when she really can’t hide it anymore, or I risk her anger by asking nosey questions.

I’d like to ask you all to pray for Amanda again. Please pray that she doesn’t develop full-blown lymphodema and that she is able to get rid of what has started in her hand. And please pray for her health as she fights all the side effects of her medication. I praise God every day for healing her from cancer, and for the way he warned her in a dream that she had it. And I’m so thankful to all of you for praing for her throughout all of her treatment. ❤️

    1. Cee Gee says:

Oh, Teresa! Thankful she got a good report re: cancer! I almost asked how Amanda is doing when I asked about your back recently. She is often in my thoughts and now in my prayers again. Thank you for letting us know how to pray specifically. You remain in my prayers, too, and I pray God comforts your heart in this difficult-for-a-mama-to-watch situation! ❤❤❤

      1. Rhonda J says:

        Yes, my same reply!

      2. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

Thank you so much, Cee Gee and Rhonda ❤️

    3. Tina says:

Teresa.. That Amanda had fiid news re her 3 month assessment is great news. The rest not so, BUT GOD, right?
That the medication is having side effects, yet Amanda fights through and keeps going through the tiredness, and wants life as normal for her family, God bless her..
Teresa, praying for strength, and continued grace and mercy over her as she continues to navigate the new normal for now..
praying for your mama heart too.❤️
      ❤️

      1. Teresa Cooper Donley says:

Thank you so much, Tina ❤️

    4. Searching says:

Joining in prayer for Amanda, lessening of the side effects, full healing from the cancer, permanent retreat of the lymphedema in her hand.
Is there a PT Lymphodema specialist in her area? One of my family member’s is a PT and that is one of the main focuses of her practice. Sadly, there is a strong need In this field.

    Daniel 4:34
And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:
For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,

And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
    .
I thought of the lost and all our prodigals, and the glorious days ahead as each of them turns to or turns back to the Lord.
Thinking of my own prodigal journey,
I, Searching, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding (that turning my back on God was a road to eternal separation from the One who loves me like no other) returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:
For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,

And His kingdom is from generation to generation.

    From song info:
“Through every season, every song, and everything God has done in our lives, our prayer is that the focus would always return to Him. Jesus alone is worthy of our worship. ONLY JESUS — ANNEMARIE COENRAAD

“Only Jesus” is the first single from the upcoming EP, ONLY JESUS.
This song was born during a worship and prayer moment in San Diego. What started in the presence of God became a simple declaration that has stayed at the heart of this entire project: it is all about Jesus.

Through every season, every song, and everything God has done in our lives, our prayer is that the focus would always return to Him. Jesus alone is worthy of our worship. He is seated on the throne, His Kingdom will reign forever, and one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess His name.

Our prayer is that this song would draw your heart back to Jesus and become your own declaration of worship:

    It is Jesus. Only Jesus.

  20. Kelly (NEO) says:

May we in this generation join past generations in praise to God for His everlasting dominion!
    ,
“Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.
He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel.
The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.
Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
The wind blows, and we are gone—as though we had never been here.
But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!
The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.
Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands.
Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will!
Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom.
Let all that I am praise the LORD.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬-‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬
