Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

1 Timothy 4:7–9

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

During this study, we are memorizing 1 Timothy 4:7b–9. This week, work on committing the last part of verse 8 to memory. To help, say the passage aloud three times in a row, changing the inflection of your voice or the way you emphasize different words and phrases.

Train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.
—1 Timothy 4:7b–9

God as called us to be set apart and different from the world rather we need to train ourselves to be more like God rather than training ourselves for the world

Good evening sweet Shes. We had baptisms at church today and each individual wrote a testimony to give before their baptism. People were led to Christ through Grandmothers, parents, a boyfriend and his family, and an old hockey team mate who shared Jesus with a friend who was on the edge of despair and depression. The young man accepted Christ, then left Texas and came here to NC to share Christ with his parents. Today, the hockey teammate got to baptize his friend and the friend, in turn baptized his parents! Our pastor was present, of course, but friends and family had the privilege of lowering their loved ones into the water and out again. Praise God for those who share the Gospel and may God walk with these new believers as they grow in their faith!
