Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.
This week we will continue memorizing Paul’s sermon in Acts 13 by adding verse 29. Start by saying what you’ve already memorized out loud. Then write down the verse and underline each verb in verse 29. As you work on memorizing verse 29, try emphasizing the verbs as you repeat the verse aloud.
27 Since the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him or the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, they have fulfilled their words by condemning him. 28 Though they found no grounds for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed. 29 When they had carried out all that had been written about him, they took him down from the tree and put him in a tomb. 30 But God raised him from the dead, 31 and he appeared for many days to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.
—Acts 13:27–31

My dear sisters,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank each of you who faithfully prayed for my beloved husband over these past five months as he searched for a job after being laid off.
I am overjoyed to share that the Lord has answered our prayers! He has graciously provided him with a wonderful job, and we are so thankful for His perfect timing and faithful provision.
This season stretched our faith in ways we never expected, but God never once failed us. Through every uncertainty, every interview, every disappointment, and every tear, He proved Himself to be our Provider, Sustainer, and Good Shepherd.
Your prayers, encouragement, and reminders to trust the Lord meant more than I can express. Even though many of us have never met in person, I have truly felt surrounded by sisters in Christ who carried this burden with us before the throne of grace.
Thank you for praying. Thank you for believing with us. Thank you for pointing me back to God’s faithfulness when the waiting felt long.
May the Lord richly bless each of you as you continue to serve Him. I will never forget your kindness, and I pray I can now encourage others who find themselves in a season of waiting, reminding them that God’s timing is always perfect.
❤️❤️❤️
Praise the Lord! What great news and a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness!
You know, reading this took my mind to JESUS’S temptation in the wilderness, as HE is tempted HE responds GNT says “.. scripture says..” CSB, says “.. it is written..” the AMP, says”.. it is written and forever remains written..”
.
IT WAS WRITTEN!
.
The story never changed. The narrative had been the same since it was written. The people may have heard it in different languages, different dilects, in different ways.. the story never changes. the scriptures never change.. and so, even though the people heard it, they didn’t hear it!They didn’t hear it well.
They did not understand..
As each of those truths of how Jesus’s life would happen, or go, and the prophecy became truth, for real, did they even notice, did they even join the dots, I wonder..
.
BUT GOD..
.
Blessings.
That’s the sad part, Tina! Up to the happenings recorded in this passage, they had been blind to all the signs and wonders. Our pastor preached on Seeking for a Sign recently. Yesterday’s passage in Matthew 12 records the religious ‘elite’ asking Jesus for a sign. He told them they would get no other sign than the sign from Jonah. Paraphrasing here. Great passage to meditate on. Great sermon by pastor! Great comment by you, sister! ❤
Happy Sunday sweeties!
Hey, Mari! ❤
God’s plans carried out by his enemies. Thank you Kelly (Neo) For your comment and your song share. (I love that verse too. Deeply meaningful.) Have a blessed Sunday everyone ❤️
❤
Tom is still improving. We hope to start the drive home next weekend. Our son will go with us, get us settled and then fly home. I can cry every time I look at him and just so thankful he is still here. Thank you all for your prayers.
What a praise!! Continued prayers for him Susan!!
What an overwhelming blessing! Prayers for strengthening and safe travels for the trip home and for your son’s return flight. ❤
Continuing to pray for Tom as he recovers and for your safe travels home! ❤️
Hello, new here! Attempting you create new healthy habits now that summer is winding down and my children will be going back to school. I have spent the last 10 years basically just surviving in motherhood so I haven’t had much time to devote to the Lord and my relationship with him. Reading through the comments I see so much support and community and I want to be a part of it!

“When they had done all that the prophecies said about him, they took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb.”- NLT
(Biblegateway verse of the day)- great focal verse to as we head off to worship today!:
Janes 1:22 NLT
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

Chris Tomlin – O Lord You’re Beautiful (Lyric Video)
Lyrics:
Oh Lord, You’re beautiful
Your face is all I seek
And when Your eyes are on this child
Your grace abounds to me
I wanna take Your word
And shine it all around
First tell me just to live Lord
And when I’m doing well
Help me to never seek a crown for my reward
It’s giving glory to You
Oh Lord, please light the fire (light the fire)
That once burned bright and clear
Replace the lamp of my first love
That burns with Holy fear
And when I’m doing well
Help me to never seek a crown for my reward
It’s giving glory to You
.
Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤
Thinking back to my comment a few weeks ago on this passage. We too, are witnesses and as we gather in church, showing up is a way we do that. Its being in the place where we hear teaching of the Word, where we worship, build community and we serve. We have the opportunity to be ones to bring hope. Lets not miss that.
Thank you once again for such words of encouragement and praying for me and my MIL. Appreciate you all so much
Sunday Blessing She’s.❤️✝️
“They had carried out all that had been written about him…”
.
God’s plans were carried out through His enemies. Jesus’ unjust trial and death were the means for my pardon (redemption).
.
Brings to mind the third verse of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”
O to grace how great a debtor
daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace now, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here’s my heart; O take and seal it;
seal it for thy courts above.
.
WENDY B – sorry for your family’s loss of your MIL. Praying the Lord sends peace and comfort to all.

Thank you ❤️
Thank you!
You just can’t fathom how the Bible was written by 40 different authors in 66 books, across different continents and time spans of over centuries…Yet, yet, it ALL tells one story! A God, his creation, his people, a hope, a mercy, a grace. Things foretold, that came to pass, and are coming forth. A God that speaks to us in his word, through songs, nature, other people, and the Spirit. That knew we fail, yet with Jesus, would get it right! Not by us, but by him! It’s just unexplainable yet makes perfect sense.
When you get it you get it as they say. I know, that I know, that I know! For I was the worst of them (a sinner), and now I am His! Saved and redeemed, therefore I am a servant to him for the rest of my day!
Jesus have it all!! Be my center. I surrender my life for the life you have for me.
Happy Sunday She’s!
Whatever is going on today…little did I know 5 weeks ago it would be the most traumatic day of my life…but God, he held me through it, and he is holding you today as well. Know it, because it’s truth. Hugs to you all.
Thank yoy, Rhonda! This meshes so well with our SS lesson and today’s sermon! ❤❤❤
Amen
