Acts 13:17–23

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

This week we will finish memorizing Acts 13:17–23 by focusing on the final verse. Strengthen your understanding and memorization of the full passage by writing it on a piece of paper or typing it out as a note on your phone.

17 The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, made the people prosper during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm. 18 And for about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness; 19 and after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 This all took about 450 years. After this, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 After removing him, he raised up David as their king and testified about him, “I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my will.” 23 From this man’s descendants, as he promised, God brought to Israel the Savior, Jesus.

When I think about David I think about how messed up and broken I was before I had God In my life. Thank you Father for always waiting for us with opens arms and ever ending love. Thank you God for sending your son Jesus Christ to bring us salvation!!

Sometimes when I think of king David, I can’t help but think how much he messed up! Messed up a lot! Including as we know the murder of Uriah. YET….Our forgiving Father God our JESUS extended forgiveness because that’s just who HE is! Our loving daddy waiting for us to repent and extends His forgiveness towards us, simply because He LOVES us and wants us to be with Him someday when we this life on this earth is over. FOREVER!!

This makes me think of the Hymn, “O What a Savior!”

Praising God for making a way for a sinner like me!

Praying for all have a blessed day!

Are you thinking of the one written by Fanny Crosby, or the one written by Marvin P Dalton (sang by Cathedrals & others)? The latter one – when sung by a great quartet with an awesome tenor, love it ❤️

  6. Wendy B says:

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. Psalm 100:4

As we have opportunity to gather in church community today let’s lift, praise and thanks. Just as the Lord made the way for the Israelites with His mighty arm to lead and provide, He has done so for us in His faithful provision and care. Let’s pursue seeking after His heart, to do His will, to serve Him and lift our voices in praise and honor. Have a blessed Sunday.✝️

    Praying for your requests ❤️

Good morning She’s, I come this morning with a couple prayer requests. The first is regarding the prodigal in our family. She and my dad have had a couple big arguments in the last couple of months. The most recent one was Friday. They have had a lot more time together in the last several weeks as she has been coming home often. These fights create ripple effects. The second prayer is a request and praise. A storm came through the area last night and my parents have some damage. The praise is that the large parts of the pine tree didn’t land on their house. The prayer request is we have storm damage to clean up today. The porch swing my parents gave my grandma years ago and they got after she past last year is in their pool. Thank you for your prayers.

    1. Searching says:

Praying, Danielle! Praying for your prodigal, that both she and your dad will lay down the disagreements and focus on common ground – life is too short. Praying she turns to the Lord.
Thankful their house was saved! The other storm clean up will be a pain, but nothing like being displaced from their home ❤️

      1. Danielle B says:

Thank you Searching! Yes they are praising God that He saved their home because the trees just missed it. Unfortunately, the situation with my sister and dad escalated more yesterday. I appreciate your prayers for her to return to God.

    .

I flew over to Matthew to check out the lineage of David.. the descendants from whom our Saviour Jesus hails.
    .
Fourteen generations.. of imperfect, unclean, unknown scallywags.. and yet GOD promised to use these descendants of ‘this man’ David, to bring us a Saviour.
    .
    AND what a SAVIOUR!.
    .
    What a Saviour,
    My Redeemer
    Friend of sinners
    One like me
    .
    Oh what kindness, Suffered violence
Healed my blindness, And set me free..
    .
Oh what grace, I’ve found in You, my Jesus,
Thst my soul should entertain Your greatness,
And should this life hold nothing but my Saviour,
    I will praise you always.
    .
    Heaven’s glory,
    Clothed in mercy,
    Knew my story,
    Yet took my end..
    .
    Oh what freedom,
    Hope like Heaven,
    Now forgiven,
    I will rise again..
    .
    Should this life i live,
    Hold nothing but the cross,
    Where Jesus took my shame..
    .
    Then with arms stretched wide
    And my head held high,
My every breath will sing again..
    .
This Hillsong worship came to mind..
    .
One perfect Man, for our salvation.
    .
One perfect Man, for our redemption.
    .
One perfect Man, promised through the line of David, names unknown.. and yet..
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
    AMEN.
    .
Happy Sunday wrapped in much love and prayers, hugs..❤️
Rhonda, sending you and yours some healing and comforting love, ❤️
