Acts 13:17–23

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

This week we will commit to memory verse 22 of Paul’s sermon. First, try saying verses 17–22 all together. Then, to help you memorize this next part of Scripture, repeat verse 22, pausing to consider each of the Lord’s actions. Finally, read it out loud one last time, pausing to consider the Lord’s description of David.

17 The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, made the people prosper during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm. 18 And for about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness; 19 and after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 This all took about 450 years. After this, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 After removing him, he raised up David as their king and testified about him, “I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my will.” 23 From this man’s descendants, as he promised, God brought to Israel the Savior, Jesus.

Hello sisters, I am coming to ask for urgent prayers on behalf of Rhonda, for her niece Savannah. Her niece is in a critical condition following a sudden, tragic medical event. The situation is incredibly grave. Please pray for comfort, clarity, and strength for Rhonda and her flight out, and for her sister’s family (parents of Savannah and her older brother) as they navigate these next few hours, and please pray for God’s presence to be strong and miracle to shift the situation from darkness to life. Thank you sisters. In God we Trust.

So many people just read the new testament (the good news!) but oh, to read this after reading through all the old testament brings so much more emotion to it…it floors you! The God, that promises…that seems at the time, is it really gonna happen, is he really seeing me through, is he really working all things for MY good? But reading this and knowing, it all is working in his way and timing for the most beautiful story of mercy, grace, redemption, and restoration!! We, too, are a part of this great story…that one day soon, we will either close our eyes and be there where it all makes sense, or see him in a blink of an eye coming for his children, and..it will all make sense.
Until then we have hope, faith and the promise. We hang on to that no matter what our circumstances because we have his word, and better, him in us! What a blessed assurance, what a gift, what a balm to our soul through this walk of life.

We had beautiful baptisms with so many! It’s always so fun. Shalan did not come.
But we did have 2 or 3 people from the homeless ministry that came!! It was cool to do a double take and hug them! The lady that leads the ministry sent a Limo to get them and bring them to our church that is a good 30 minutes away!! How cool is that?!! I might have to post the pic on our FB page!!
    Have a blessed Sunday!

    Psalm 149:1-5 ESV
“1 Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
3 Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
4 For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.”

Praying that the Lord meets you as you gather today in worship. May He whisper to your hearts just what you need to hear from Him–guidance, comfort, or courage.
