Acts 13:17–23

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

As we survey the Old Testament, we’re memorizing Acts 13:17–23. This week, we’ll work on verses 18 and 19. To help you commit these verses to memory, write them out three times on a piece of paper or a note card.

17 The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, made the people prosper during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm. 18 And for about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness; 19 and after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 This all took about 450 years. After this, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 After removing him, he raised up David as their king and testified about him, “I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my will.” 23 From this man’s descendants, as he promised, God brought to Israel the Savior, Jesus.

“Being faithful to love, serve, and honor God when you are in physical, emotional, or mental pain is the kind of faith in action that makes people take notice.” I read this in my morning devotional thought it was very applicable for a lot of us SRT ladies walking through challenging times! Your faith is shining through your struggles, God has a plan like He had for Israel and our redemption too! ❤️❤️

From the beginning, God always has had a plan to carry out. We are called to walk in obedience to that, live humbly, faithfully, to seek Him, abide in Him, serve Him and point others to Him, sharing the life changing truth and goodness news.

Find us faithful, Lord. As you still lead us today, may we honor and glorify you in all we say and do and how we live our lives. As we have opportunity to gather with our church families today may we give you the highest praise and celebrate with joy and thanksgiving the goodness you have given us. Amen

Amazing verses that show God is in and above all things. Every situation, every circumstance, governing his people, covering his people, loving and guiding them. And disciplining them.
He is above everything, his plan prevails! We can trust and know that he is for us. Working all things for the good of those who love him and called to his purposes! He showed that with His chosen people, and we, that believe upon the name Of Jesus, are now his. What a gift. If we would get out of our own way, and walk in step with the Spirit, how much better would it be?
He still loves his chosen Israel, and it will remain safe until the end, when Jesus comes down to his city! How exciting to know! Come Jesus Come! We are ready for you…but until then, we shall stay on task, on mission, telling the world of you. Telling our children, and their children. Living truth. Eager to walk in step with you O Lord! You are worthy of our Praise and Worship!! Amen and Amen!

God desired to be their home. God desires to be HOME to people today. As the hymn says, Jesus is tenderly calling you home.

    Psalm 90:1-2
    Lord, through all the generations
    you have been our home!

before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God.

God made it possible for Israel to leave Egypt and to conquer the the nations to enter land that He promised Abraham. Nothing they could have done on their own.
    .
    Psalm 92:1-8
“It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,

proclaiming your love in the morning
    and your faithfulness at night,

to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.

    For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

How great are your works, Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!

    Senseless people do not know,
    fools do not understand,

that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.

But you, Lord, are forever exalted.”
    .
Exalt the Lord with your local church family today.

    1. Cee Gee says:

V 4 reminded me of Chris Tomlin’s Shout To The Lord
      .
“I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.”
