John 16:20

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will begin memorizing John 16:20, a verse that assures us of Christ’s comfort in the middle of mourning. Spend time this week memorizing the first half of the verse.

“Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.”
—John 16:20

Love how verses we read intertwine! THIS verse reminds of Psalm 30:5b “weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Now that I think about it, I believe I may have mentioned this verse earlier in the study. It’s a comforting verse and still is TODAY! Happy Sunday sweeties! Joy does come. It’s a promise. And I believe it even when we’re sad.

The weights, cares, sufferings and sorrows of this world do not have the final say, but Jesus does and the hope of heaven and His joy is ours. Eyes on Jesus. Let us rejoice with hope, praise and joy as we have opportunity to gather in community with our church families today. ✝️

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your righthand are pleasures forevermore.” — Psalm 16:11

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

    GM She’s!
    Happy Sunday!
How in the middle of all the hard, sadness, unbelievable awfulness going on in our world today….have Joy?! In our own lives- strife, grief, anger, weary and tired and plum worn out. “Are we sick and tired of being sick and tired” is a little logo that sticks. Life sure can be draining right? But it usually is a lot of our perspective, our outlook. And when we know Jesus and the Bible it is our foundation that helps us KNOW faith and hope that is perspective. God knows you, He knows me, He knows everything…that is happening! Today is 250 years of America! And the president will dedicate it back to God! This is something to be joyful about. Turn our families back to God first. Turn our neighborhoods back to God. Turn our cities and states back to God. It takes US. We make a difference. We make an impact. The harvest is always ripe, and we are the workers, we forget that! We are the seed throwers, and the ones that have to keep watering to help growth! And bring in the sheaves!! Time is short! But oh how joyous its gonna be when we are called up! It could come at anytime. Many Christians don’t even know everything else on the prophetic timeline HAS happened!! The rapture IS NEXT!! (and the alien theory actually is taking off- (wow)). But whatever the theory, shouldn’t those we have been sowing into know because of that?! Are you telling them how Christ-followers will all be gone in an instant?

    1. Mercy says:

Amen. I am watching the worship and the rededication of America back to God live at National Mall and I am praying for your country. May the country turn back to God and the humble traditional values in the same Old Book of the Bible.

  12. Cheryl Blow says:

No matter what the outcome her on earth, our sorrow will turn to joy when we see Jesus! Until then, we rejoice in a new day, that His love is steadfast and never ceasing, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning! Great is His faithfulness.

    Praying for all!

“And the ransomed of the Lord will return and come to Zion with singing, crowned with unending joy. Joy and gladness will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee” (Isa. 51:11).
    .
“So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you” (John 16:22).
    .
May the joy of the Lord flow from your hearts as you gather to worship today.

RHONDA J – so sorry about your relentless migraine. Praying the Lord will bring you relief and healing today.
