Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.
As we read Acts together, we are memorizing a portion of Peter’s sermon in Acts 2. This week, memorize the first part of verse 38.
37 When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
—Acts 2:37–39

We are so blessed.
Hey everyone, just coming here with a heavy heart because I live in Minnesota and you probably have seen all the transpired over the past 12 hours and the weeks before. Just asking for prayers for our state, for level heads and tempters, but also asking for prayers for fellow Christians who are using scripture erroneously to justify what is happening here. It breaks my heart. I am praying for discernment, for clarity and understanding, and for Christians to come together in the name of the love of Jesus.
Praying.
Praying that God’s peace and truth blanket this situation.
Hey Maria! I’m also in MN and I am a complete mess. I don’t understand how people can see what ICE is doing, and say we are the problem. I’ve really been struggling to even read the Bible because I’m struggling so much. But I HAVE been working on meditating on psalm 22. And trying to memorize it. I first put it on my memory list, simply because they were some of Jesus’ last words on the cross. But they have become the cry of my heart. And a balm. Despite what the media is saying, Wisconsin has said that they will support us. And I am willing to bet some of the 70% of Americans who are upset will help us if we get there. I love you. I’m praying for us too.
Sending much love to you as well, Heather. Hugs and thanks for the psalm recommendation.
I have been following and praying for you guys. My heart is broken
It really is heartbreaking. I’m in continuous prayer over our brothers and sisters in Minnesota and our country as a whole. I know that my small women’s group here in Chicago is also praying.
Standing with you in prayer and in protest from Michigan
Hi Maria, my heart is also heavy. I don’t know if you will see this post or not but wanted to respond to hopefully give you encouragement to keep on looking up. Our help comes from Him and some of the struggling and events happening now, I believe are part of the enemy’s plan to divide us a nation. There won’t be true peace on earth until the Lord comes back and the importance of prayer for our nation and the world is so evident. Spiritual warfare is so necessary. I am sure this breaks God’s heart too. I heard someone on TV say, you can see the pictures, they don’t lie. What I find interesting is that we each have a perspective from which we see the pictures. My husband recently was diagnosed with dementia. He had been battling metastatic brain cancer for 8 years and had been getting Brain MRI’s every 3 months for 8 years. Recently 2 different groups of doctors looked at the same MRI and one said no new cancer and the other said see all these white spots, that’s dementia! I hope this helps you in some way to help understand, I am praying and I am sure many more sisters are praying for His will for MN and the nation and for many souls to come to know Him through these difficult days. Keep looking up to the hills, from whence comes our help. Peace and love
Happy Sunday sweeties!! I can recall the first time that I actually “heard” the gospel and was actually “paying attention” and was just like v37. It “pierced” my heart when as a seventeen-year-old I actually paid attention! It was the testimonies of teens just like me repenting and turning to JESUS! I’ll never forget that day!
Today, I’m serving for the first time as a “greeter” at the church I now call home! And we are actually having a meeting today regarding membership! So blessed to be part of beautiful community!
Love all your comments! I can’t imagine what they felt but I know the deep sorrow I feel when the Holy Spirit corrects me of something I have said or done, thinking I was right! Grieves my heart! But what joy when I turn in repentance to Him. Such love!
Praying for all. In Oklahoma, the snow has stopped. 8-10” very fine snow her in Oklahoma City. Praying for others affected!
Thank you, Tina, for sharing verse 36! Context is so important, especially for memorization, I think.
✨
Going back to verses 32-33:
32 “God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this. 33 Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.
✨
Along with Peter’s strong words was the evidence that these non-believer’s just witnessed – the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the new believers. Peter’s reminding them of David and his words about a coming Messiah, along with the evidence presented and witnessed was more than enough for a conviction and they were finally convicted!
✨
Thanks, sisters, for the prayers! Some sleet last night, but so far no ice on the trees in our immediate area anyway. I haven’t checked on TV yet. Anothet 36 hours or so to get through, but I believe prayers are working! ❤
✨
Church is online only today for us, but I hope you all have a blessed day of worship wherever you are!
Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤

Phil Wickham, Crowder – It Really Is Amazing Grace (Official Music Video)
Partial lyrics:
Singing Hallelujah!
There’s no chains on me
Thank you Jesus
You have set me free
You welcomed me in
Called me by name
Was dead in my sin
Now I’m dancing on that grave
Hallelujah! It really is Amazing Grace
It really is, It really is
It’s Amazing Grace
I’ll testify
Of what He did
He gave me life
I’m born again
My heart is free
My soul is saved
It really is Amazing Grace
❤️
Glad you have been spared!

TRACI GENDRON – beautiful post yesterday ❤️
Thank you, sister, for that encouragement! Love you! ❤
I agree on Traci’s post!
Yes! Each one reach one!
What a sermon this must have been, a call to come, a summons to a NEW WAY! They were PIERCED TO THE HEART! When was the last time you listened to someone and was pierced to the heart?! I can think of some such as hearing Tim Teebow talk about dear kids being abused and how we need to DO something, we need to ACT! We HAVE to engage. And the same is for our OWN SELF..we have the power to save ourselves from sin and Hell! We too, are in a lost, painful, demonized place (do we even know or realize? Do our friends know? Do our children..?) We need someone to save us…and HIS name is Jesus! But we have to move in ACTION- ACCEPTANCE of not just Repentance- but of surrender, change, transformation in a true and honest relationship with Him. He will then equip us to SHARE and MOVE others. We may not see it right away, but His word never returns void. The seeds are there, but they take watering and light! Are we still taking the time to encourage growth in the seeds planted? Don’t stop! We are fighting against a more powerful than ever Spiritual battle!! And we must be warriors, not on the sidelines!!
If we honestly know the battle, if we have been paying attention of what has happened to the world just in the last 30 years…it should set you on fire for these times! The birth pains have indeed sped up! Its time to abide and arise the daughters of the Kings, us She’s! Sorry I got on my “Daily Dose” passionate sermon!!
Song for today “Made For More” Josh Baldwin.
“So why would I make a bed in my shame
When a fountain of grace is running my way
I know I am Yours
And I was made for more!”
Love that song!
Yes, I think it will be a Wednesday song this week…speaking our “new identify in Christ!” Perfect to go with it!!
Keep preaching Rhonda! You are an encouragement. I just had a picture in my mind of you as a shepherdess herding women of all ages, shapes and sizes and backgrounds towards Jesus.
I can’t tell you Maria how that just touched my heart so deep and fantastically b/c we KNOW God gives us visions that are real and true!! SO…I am going to do my best to DO it!! AND my hubby leaned over and read it as well, and preceded to put his hand on me and pray (silently)- very special (although I didn’t make a speech over it, lol)! So thank you for that this morning!! Please pray She’s, b/c the devil doesn’t like anyone of us reaching others!
Amen!
Glad to get your Daily Dose of encouragement! ❤
Oh…..I remember when you mentioned this song!!! I listened to it over and over… Already listening to it!!! Going to listen to it on the way to Church!
Not to be the grammar police, but sure you meant daughters of the king. singular, not plural. We have our one true King!
Repent
.
Such an important step in our relationship with God, for if we have come to believe the truth that Jesus died for our sin, we should stop in our tracks and turn from sin and run toward His mercy, grace, and freely given pardon.
.
And we can rejoice that we have been given repentance as an option…imagine if we were forever stuck in sin, separated from God, doomed to face His holy wrath.
.
Praying all in the winter storm’s path stays safe.
So true Kelly! I think so often we want Jesus but want our lifestyle as well. And well, we have to realize our lifestyle is still wrong even if seemingly good, we still must recognize our sin and REPENT. In that understanding, then we will want to live for him and change our fleshly ways to His Holy ways!
❣️
The key word you use here is option. Because we have to choose repentance. The first time and then daily. It’s there waiting for us but it’s our choice and the humility that comes with that choice is required or you just can’t make it
Yes, Karen, and confession! ❤
Another oldie:
Admit
Believe
Confess
I couldn’t remember the exact accompaniment to that so I looked it up.I just found this on Lifeway:
By Ken and Kay Parker
“A” stands for Admit. A person must admit to God that she is a sinner. She must be sorry for her sin and turn away from sinning. Verses that support this step are Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Acts 3:19; and 1 John 1:9.
“B” stands for Believe. A person must believe that Jesus is God’s Son and that God sent Jesus to pay the penalty for sin. Verses about believing include John 3:16; John 14:6; and Romans 5:8.
“C” stands for Confess. A person must confess her faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Read Romans 10:9-10, 13.
.
Ken and Kay Parker have worked for LifeWay Christian Resources and now serve at Oak Valley Baptist Church in Franklin, Tennessee, where Ken is pastor.
Thanks for sharing that!
❤️
So well said, Kelly!
“we should stop in our tracks and turn from sin and run toward His mercy, grace, and freely given pardon.”
Amen!
❤
Thanks for the prayers! They are working!!!
“All the people of Israel, then, are to know for sure that this JESUS, whom you crucified, is the one that God has made Lord and Messiah!”
.
This is the verse before the one to be memorised. I felt to see what made their heart feel like an arrow had been shot at it.
.
I would image the sorrow of what they(we) had done. The shouts of ‘crucify him’ they had uttered through ignorance, and following the crowd.. Their eyes that weren’t opened enough to see Who they had with them…
.
BUT GOD…
.
Through Peter’s words,
“Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins..” they can be redeemed, they can be forgiven, and, as we find out next week, they will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!
.
This was front-line stuff, they were there and things were up close and really personal, they felt the pain of what had happened, and Peter’s words and Jesus’s action was going to release them from the wrong of the past.
.
Amen.
.
Happy Sunday beloveds!❤️
amen
Daily repentance. Amen ❤️
Amen.
Daily repentance is needed because (1) we aren’t perfect, and (2) because it’s difficult to let go of those favorite sins.
Praying we can all lay those down.
.
❤
Amen. Yes❤️
I just really find these verses so convicting, direct and “stop in your tracks” kind of words. The NIV translation says “they were cut to the heart”. Pierced, cut…those are intense words and they indicate that something is changed. I’m repeating what I shared and prayed last Sunday in that I need to always be praying for an open wiling, humble heart, bended knees and hands lifted high asking ‘what can I do?”
Lord we come before unworthy of the gift of salvation but humbly seeking your forgiveness and desiring to walk with you, to serve you and be devoted to proclaiming your truth, to be the feet the bring good news, the voice that shouts, “Our God reigns!” Show us what to do Lord. Lead us and guide us Father, help us to live in your truth and to be bold, courageous and faithful in sharing that truth no matter what. Thank you for this dear community of SRT sisters, encourage and bless them today. We praise you Lord for answered prayer and bring the requests that are heavy and weighing on many hearts and ask that you move and work in these Lord. Be present with us as we gather in our church communities today to hear your Word, pierce our hearts, let it take deep roots and Holy Spirit move in our hearts, transform us and as we sing praises may you be honored and glorified. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen✝️
Amen Wendy!
Thank you for this beautiful prayer Wendy.
Amen Wendy❤️
Amen!❤️
It might be a bit of a gruesome dialogue but the phrase pierced my heart got me thinking. When I became a Believer yes my heart was pierced. But then what happened? Did I just bleed out? Did someone come and so the spot up? Is it just covered in scar tissue now? Does the wound reopen on occasion? The analogy really struck me and got me considering the state of my peer start.
❤️ Made me think along the same lines :)
I like your thinking, Karen!
Amen and amen, Wendy! Your prayers are so beautiful and so ‘from the heart’! Thank you! ❤
Amen.
